Discovery: Aliens from Outer Space Working for Decades to Destroy Human Civilization–Bad
By 1988, the new report says, the Electric Power Research Institute, supported by the energy industry, acknowledged "a growing consensus in the scientific community that the greenhouse effect is real." Even so, some in the industry joined oil and other industries in the climate-denial front group known as the Global Climate Coalition, which lobbied successfully to get the United States out of the Kyoto Protocol during the George W. Bush administration. Only alien space invaders would betray people this way. Continue reading →

American Southwest threatened by heavy-rain monsoons
GR: The article below illustrates the value of scientific analysis. The Southwest Monsoon has always caused flooding. However, memory alone is an unreliable indicator of changes in storm strength; numerical comparison of time periods is better. The analysis mentioned in … Continue reading →

Bio-Individuality, the Myth That Some People ‘Just Need Meat’
Let me be clear, honest, and take a risk of offending: there is no nutrition in the flesh or fluids of animals that can not be gotten from where the animal got it – the sun and the earth. Continue reading →

8 Ways to Sequester Carbon to Avoid Climate Catastrophe
"We're traveling at high speed down a mountain in a car coming up to a hairpin turn, and it's not so much a question of whether we hit the guard rail as to whether we can slow down enough, so that when we do we bounce off rather than catapult over it into oblivion." --Klaus Lackner, Arizona State University (on controlling climate change). World’s Last Remaining Tigers Live Under Severe Threat of Extinction
Our grandchildren will probably see the last of the wild apes, elephants, giraffes, lions, and tigers. We humans are eliminating Earth's wild animals. Though some of us might feel remorse, most of us are more concerned with our daily routine: struggling to acquire wealth, satisfying desires, interacting with family and friends, and shopping at Amazon and Walmart (our leaders are like the rest of us except they wouldn't be caught dead in Walmart). Last week there was a teacup storm over the raw truth of climate change. The true disaster is the careless and relentless destruction of nature in which human-caused climate change joins farming, fishing, hunting, dumping, and urbanization as an instrument of nature's destruction. Can anything stop the human juggernaut's inexorable destruction of nature? It appears that, like an avalanche, we will continue until all our potential is gone. Sad. Continue reading →

How Utilities Are Trying to Slow Down Rooftop Solar
Rooftop solar panels are the best source of renewable energy. Apart from their manufacture, the panels are non polluting. As important, they remove energy production from the hands of a few wealthy investors and place it in our hands. Continue reading →

We Still Have Time to Restore Our Climate. But the Climate Time Bomb Is Ticking
"That point of no return has now arrived, and it is staring us in the face. If people fully understood how and why their families face a ruined world by mid-century, they would be demanding, with "hair on fire" urgency, If people really understood this truly existential crisis and the need for urgent action, they would be demanding that our political leaders scramble at full speed to restore the ice and, of course, to reduce our net CO2 emissions to zero." --Alex Carlin Continue reading →
