Paris
 Paris by Alan Tillier
Paris by Alan TillierMy rating: 3 of 5 stars
I have mixed feelings about this book. While it provided an adequate description of Paris (though did fail to mention the often aloof and rude Parisians who made NO attempt to speak to me in English, which you would have thought they would have, as when they come to the USA or UK we speak to them in English!)and it did provide maps and useful information, for Paris, it was absolutely no good to me, indeed totally redundant, as I went to Belgrade.

Review of a book I didn't read
 The Twelve Caesars by Suetonius
The Twelve Caesars by SuetoniusMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
The man on the cover of this book looks a lot like James Bond actor Daniel Craig. After about 5 chapters I realized I had been hoodwinked and this book was not about 007.
So, it isn't important that you always, in some instances, judge a book by its cover.

Review of a Historical Memoir
Memoirs of Hadrian by Marguerite Yourcenar
Memoirs of Hadrian by Marguerite YourcenarMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
My favorite bit of this memoir was when Hadrian decided to build a 2 feet high wall to keep Scottish people out of England that stretched across the country. Unfortunately it only kept out Scottish dwarfs as the normal sized Scotsmen simply stepped over this ill thought barricade and headed straight to London where they set up home in Tube Stations, drinking whiskey and occasionally throwing up on themselves.

Social Media
The Facebook page for my book has so far been my biggest asset, I worked hard on it and I did a lot of blogging and teasers prior to the release of my book. In 4 months, all prior to the books release I received over 11,000 Likes, established a pretty good fan base and found not only stores that wanted to stock my book but reviewers, media contacts and even, thanks to my Tweeting alleged "Likes" from George Clooney, Ben Affleck and of all people Nicki Minaj (sic)...not sure though if these were the real people or not as set to private.
Anyway, I can not stress enough the impact Facebook can have in obtaining a fan base, yes I invested $1 a day in targeting fans with paid ads, and I was careful who I targeted - if anyone would like any tips on how I created the character profiles, found so many likes and how to effectively target demographics for your readership I will be happy to explain.
