International best-selling author, Marius Gabriel ('The Original Sin', 'The Mask of Time'), gives 'Paper Gods and Iron Men' Five Stars on Amazon!

***** An epic journey of survival.

Intensely-felt and beautifully-written, "Paper Gods..." is a story of determination and grit which will make a thrilling film, along the lines of "Ice Cold In Alex."

The author plunges his readers into a world which he imagines and describes with great vividness. Poole and McBride, ordinary men pushed to the limit by war and the elements, are brilliant creations. At one level, this is a classic war story, but it is Kevin Cowdall's prose which makes it something special. The writing varies from terse and gruffly masculine to poetic.

The accompanying story, "Flanagan's Mule," makes a good companion piece, showing the author's talents in a different light.

Recommended to all who have ever imagined themselves on an epic journey of survival.

***** Tremendous new voice
These are two wonderful stories of survival. Cowdall has an expertly controlled style and is a tremendous new voice. At times I was reminded of the early, and best, Norman Mailer.
