Need a break from the world to get caught up in a bit of drama, mystery, and romance? Let me recommend The Knowers. It’s out there in cyberspace, waiting – like magic – to be on your Kindle, phone, or computer.
For me, the writing process is equal parts wonderful and worse than going to the dentist. I love when ideas come to me, the giddy rush I feel when I read a scene I forgot I wrote. There’s the daydreaming about my characters. What are they really up to? What’s going on in the supernatural world they inhabit? Such are my happy musings.
And then there’s the editing. YUCK! Sometimes I’ll read an entire chapter oozing mediocrity – and that’s being kind. Not trained as a writer, I feel insecure about word choice and the mechanics of it all. I’ll stare at a poorly constructed sentence and know I need to change it, but to what? And so I stare and stare, willing it to do the hard work and change itself.
Why do I write? I’ll let you know when (if) I figure it out!
