A Snazzy New Book Trailer!
Hello and thanks for visiting again so soon! This will be a quick post just to let you know that very exciting things are happening around here today.
First, as you can see, I have a new book trailer for The Cautioner's Tale . It's pretty snazzy, I think, so I hope you'll take a minute (less, actually) to have a look. It's also posted on my website, so if you haven't been there lately, you should probably visit. I've fancied that up a little, too.
Also, I wanted to share some l...

Please remember this is NOT the book's cover. (That's a pickle for another time.) This is the interior title page. It's the...

The Mysterious Evolution of Sparse Heckler

A funny thing happened yesterday while I was working on a character for my upcoming book The Rescuer's Tale (the second book in the Mary Morgan's Journal series). For only (maybe) the third time since I've been working in Photoshop for character development, a character actually turned out almost exactly as I'd originally sketched him! Since this rarely happens, and is as curious a mystery as I've ever known, I wanted to sort of "Big Dea...

Teasers, Twists, and Tales

First, I finally got The Cautioner's Tale up for pre-order on Amazon. It looks wonderful and the images are sharp and crisp, so I'm truly happy with it and I think readers will be as well. It's also received a couple more 5* reviews since I last posted, so I know I'm at least headed in the right direc...

Giving Back, Paying Forward

Today's will be a quick post to offer a glimpse of some incoming reviews for The Cautioner's Tale .
As we all know, books and authors do far better with reviews than without. Even bad reviews have been known to help occasionally. So, as authors, we are in constant pursuit of those elusive reviews, and when we get them, I think its wise to be gracious and give back a little of the kindness that was paid forward to us by the reviewers having taken a chance o...

A Time and A Page For All
Hello and thanks for stopping by.
Last week I posted the first four pages of my current work-in-progress, The Cautioner's Tale , and asked a few specific questions about what I might do to improve it. I also shared one of the pictures and the same questions with a couple of Facebook writers' groups, along with a link to last week's post where they could see all four pages. The response was far better than I'd hoped, particularly in the Fiction Writing group. I received many comments, Likes, and...

Sorting Through the Madness
One of my goals for this blog is to share some insights and artwork with anyone who's interested in my work while, at the same time, sort through all the characters, storylines, and drawings that clutter my train of thought--which is most often a trainwreck, actually. (I hope you remember that RSAS I mentioned in my last post. It's a constant battle!)
Unfortunately, I don't currently have a process for sorting through all this junk in my head, and am at times overwhelmed with the volume of "im...
