I always thought its because some people have photos blocked for potential triggers or because of a medical issue with gifs and stuff like that, so the description lets them know what it is before choosing to see the image,

I’ve been wondering about your descriptions for a while now. Is there an audible version of tumblr for the blind or is it for something else

Hey there!  So for a while now I noticed some people were reblogging my images and adding descriptions to them.  I’m not sure if it’s for an audible version or for those that have sight difficulties.  But I figured it couldn’t hurt to be proactive in any case.

This was something cathartic I needed to do in the days after Bourdain
died.
When you’re a freelancer and can’t get away from your deadlines, you end
up processing a lot of your emotions at your workstation.
