[Description:  A four panel comic.  Panel 1 is a picture of a teddy bear and the explanation that ‘Lately people have been putting teddy bears in their windows for little kids to spot on ‘bear hunts.’  Panel 2 shows the bear sitting in front of the window with the caption ‘We’ve had ours in the window since the first week of quarantine.’  Panel 3 is similar to panel 2, except it’s at night and there is clearly a ghostly black eyed child staring at the bear from the other side of the window.  In Panel 4 a girl with a glass of water looks on in horror, thinking ‘I think I’ll put it away in the morning.’

These are the thoughts I have every time I pass our bear at night.]

I’m tired all the time.  Except when it’s time to be.

[Description:  A two panel comic.  One panel is during the day, as I lean tiredly against my desk.  The second panel is at night, where I lie in bed clearly VERY awake.]

[Description:  A three panel comic, in which I stare into the middle distance, shake, then stare into the middle distance again while stating ‘Holy shit.  I’m gonna be an aunt.’  I am happy I can now fully embrace my identity as ‘Wine Aunt’.  But I am also terrified as this is the first new baby in our immediate family and I already feel so so responsible for its well-being.  Babies, man.]

[Description:  A two panel comic with me standing in front of a mirror.  In the first panel I’m playing with my hair and stating ‘I wonder if I would look better with bangs.’  In the second panel I affirm that it’s ‘Nope.  Still weird.’  My hair has a life of its own.  It’s completely unmanageable. By me at least.]

As Amazon, Walmart, and Others Profit Amid Coronavirus Crisis, Their Essential Workers Plan Unprecedented Strike (May 1st)

As Amazon, Walmart, and Others Profit Amid Coronavirus Crisis, Their Essential Workers Plan Unprecedented Strike (May 1st):

spoonie-living:

Hey folks, just a heads up that this is happening on Friday, May 1st, 2020. Here are the businesses to avoid that day, so you can plan ahead:

Amazon
Instacart
Whole Foods
Walmart
Target
FedEx

It’s always a little harder for the spoonie community to support strikes, since we rely quite strongly on some of these businesses or have less choice on where we can buy—so hopefully this advance notice helps!

[Description:  A two panel comic.  In both panels I am standing next to a kitchen counter.  There is a bowl and spoon in my hands.  In the first panel I stare into the middle distance and say ‘Sometimes you try really hard.’  In the second panel I look down and stir my bowl before stating ‘And sometimes you have pancake batter for dinner.’  I’m not sure how much regret is associated with that particular choice.  Maybe none at all.]
