My Next Novel

I'm pleased to announce that my new novel is entitled  Beastings and will be published by Bluemoose Books in June 2014.

Writing Updates

To conclude a busy year I've been working on two quite different pieces this week.

For The Guardian , a blog about the Northern Writer's Award and the everyday hustle of being a writer of novels.

And for the New Statesman a piece about the Ian Watkins case, in a broader music business context.

In other news: the first print run of Snorri & Frosti published by 3AM Press has now sold out.

This is the first thing of mine other than my integrity that has sold out so thank you to everyone...

Ben on the BBC

The BBC made a short news film about me.

It was filmed recently in the Scottish borders at the late Gordon Burn's house.

In it I talk about my work, his work and do a brief (rare) reading.
