In the local newspaper

To promote my short ebook ‘Life is all but a vast array of Colours’ and the awareness of Pancreatic Cancer, i recently appeared on BBC Radio. Following that, i was offered a short piece in the local newspaper – The Gainsborough Standard. As the newspaper isn’t available everywhere (being a local paper) i have posted [...]

Who Could That Be at This Hour? by Lemony Snicket

Lemony Snicket’s new ‘All The Wrong Questions’ series had my attention from the get go. The first novel in this prequel series to his best selling ‘A Series of Unfortunate Events’ was released earlier this year and I remember venturing out into town on purpose to buy this short attractive looking book. Sadly, I now [...]

Does your child still believe in Santa?

If the answer is still yes to the above title, then they will love this special message from Santa himself! My mum first introduced this to me when she created a video message from Santa to my daughter last year, but now that she is nearly 4; this year’s message meant more to her. She [...]

Shadow of Night by Deborah Harkness

I think it’s fair to say that when I first heard that Shadow of Night was being released, I did a little dance all by myself in the middle of the supermarket when I got an update from Amazon. I had loved Deborah Harkness’ previous novel ‘A Discovery of Witches’ and I had some very [...]

My BBC Radio Interview

Yesterday I appeared on the radio for the very first time. I was so excited and nervous and as I was sat waiting in the reception before being taken into the studio, my mind went blank and everything I had planned to say, conveniently floated out of my mind. In case you were wondering, I [...]

I’m Going to be on the Radio!

As you’ve probably already guessed by the title; I am going to be on the radio! BBC Radio Lincolnshire to be exact and to be truthful, I’m a little nervous. I’ve never done anything like this at all, although I suppose I should be grateful that the listeners can’t actually see me – this isn’t [...]

Hospitalisation

I think I sort of jinxed myself with the previous post upon where I declared that I found myself lucky at the moment. Am I lucky? Well on Friday 16th November I was rushed into hospital for an emergency appendectomy. Perhaps my luck had run out … I was planning on writing a book review [...]

Editor Employed!

I feel so lucky at the moment, especially when it comes to my writing. My ebook dedicated to my stepmum has done reasonably well, where of course half of the royalties will be donated to Pancreatic Cancer UK. Everyone around me seems to be getting ill too – in our town, a nasty bug has [...]

The Tales of Beedle the Bard by JK Rowling

As you have probably deduced from recent posts, I am not a big JK Rowling fan, yet with the release of her first adult novel The Casual Vacancy, i felt like i needed to give her another chance, because let’s face it; she is one of or the biggest selling authors of all time. So after [...]
