I love real life inspiration...
Last night reminded me of how truly "inside" I get sometimes when I write. Yes, I write fiction, but so much of what I write is inspired by the life I live and the people and instances around me. This week I got to spend hours with my real life inspiration for the fictional character Jared Miller ("Love Today") and when I get this time with my friends, I feel too many potential stories brewing haha! But whether or not the "meat" in my stories comes from the fabulous people in the sports and music industry, or from my immediate family and friends, they are all equally important to me!
So my question is....
Are there any little tidbits/characters/instances etc in my stories that you can relate to or struck you a certain way? I'd love for you to share if you can! I love these kinds of extra opportunities to connect with readers, and personally, I think we SHOULD. I know I'm blessed to get your thoughts through reviews, but I'm kind of a "go the extra mile" sort of person and truly value all that you want to share :)

So...which should it be???
I've been tying up loose ends on a few stories I'm working on. I'll be releasing a new book soon but I'm curious to know what it should be... A brand new one, or the sequel to Summer Swing? Wondering which would be most appealing to readers ;)

The term "book nerd" is no longer an insult...
It's a COMPLIMENT!!
Today my kids were out of school for the Thanksgiving holiday, so we went to the book store. It's such a blessing to have kids that love to read! This was actually their choice for what to do today. We are all athletes, but there are no dumb jocks in this family ;)
I remember reading a lot when I was younger. I think I owned the entire series of The Babysitter's Club. But there was a period of time that I hardly read books "for fun." Probably in high school and maybe college. I'm not saying I never read, but I was just busy with other things. That has changed in the past dozen years, though. Sometimes I read so much I feel like I am neglecting most of life. In August I even read 28 books in 30 days. I don't regret it, but I'm sure my house was a mess ;)
Anyway, I'm glad my kids are smarter than I was. I laugh at the phrase "kid in a candy shop." When we walked into the bookstore today, it was fun to see everyone make a beeline for their favorite genre. I guess for my family I can safely change the phrase to "kid in a bookstore."
And yes, that includes me!

And We're Off!!
Well here goes... This is my very first author blog, and even though I'm just starting out, hopefully a few of you will take a second to read this.
First of all, much thanks to those that have already read my books, and especially those that have offered feedback. I truly appreciate the time readers take to share a part of themselves like that! Mad props to you all.
Second of all, I'm still working on all this profile stuff, so thanks for your patience. I even opened a Facebook page if you're interested. I have zero "likes" right now, so I hope that will change! You can find my page at www.facebook.com/AuthorDeliaDelaney
And...I hear my dog getting in the garbage so I gotta go! Happy reading, and once again...THANK YOU!!
