Global march against canned lion hunting

By Roxanne Reid

Here's a short video of what happened at the march in Cape Town, where people came together to roar in support of lions and to call for a ban on canned lion hunting. This video was made by Willie Fritz...

We nearly chickened out. We needn’t have worried. The breeze off the sea kept us cool while our jovial guide Pinkey Ngewu pumped us full of information from the encyclopaedia of intertidal creatures and their habits that she keeps in her head.

We...

Wine and food pairing at Creation: a romantic match

Picture February is the month of love. And to my mind there’s nothing more romantic than chocolate, wine or food. Except perhaps chocolate, wine and food.

That’s why the wine and food pairing at Creation Wines in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley above Hermanus in the Overberg is such a romantic match. The intriguing wine and chocolate pairing is the cherry on top. We spent a few hours at Creation Wines www.creationwines.co.za recently and went away star-struck with chef Warwick Taylor’s creations and ex...

Whale watchingPhoto: Jason, Ivanhoe Sea Safaris By Roxanne Reid
One thing you learn very quickly about Stanford in the Overberg is that it’s hard not to fall under the spell of its numerous restaurants and wineries (see 12 restaurants and wineries in Stanford worth visiting).
