Cymraes ydw i. Extracto de Gwenllian ferch Gruffydd, La Princesa Guerrea de Deheubarth

“Cymraes ydw i.

Review: Great Value Decaffeinated Iced Tea Bags Outperform national brands.

I do not like to drink water, especially tap water. With fraking affecting the local water supply, the water here is yellow coming from the tap and tastes like something to fuel your car. Drinking bottled water is one option. But I prefer to make iced tea, especially in warmer months.

Normally I buy the Lipton brand; Walmart’s Great Value often has quality and sometimes safety issues (see my post on hash brown patties). But recently I decided to give the GV brand a try on the iced tea ...

Catalina conoce a Enrique. Extracto de Catalina de Valois: Princesa Francesa, Matriarca De Los Tudor

Me encanta Shakespeare.

Problemas a ti, oh Escocia

Lyrics: I Vow to Thee My Country

“I Vow to Thee My Country” is one of those hymns I took for granted growing up in Nebraska. Written in 1921 by Cecil Spring Rice, its origins with WWI were never mentioned to me. I literally had no idea the song is English in origin, let alone what it really referred to. It was simply one of hundreds of songs in generic protestant hymnals that came out from time to time in services.

But it is, in fact, an English patriotic song and a very lovely one. Here are the lyrics to both verses.

Elendir Mourns His Mother. Excerpt from Ghosts of the Past

The Ghosts of the Past is the central novel to the Peers of Beinan science fiction series. Drawing upon my experiences of 9/11/2001 when I lived in Essex County, New Jersey, it is an epic tale of love, loss, and nobility. It features several original songs you can hear separately in “Songs of the Beinarian Court.”

Early in the book a terrorist destroys the healing center (hospital) where Lord Healer Devon of house Ten-ar works. A few years (called “yen-ars”) later, his wife Lady Healer Keel...

Poem: Where is My Hero

Good morning everyone. Take I would like to share a poem from my latest book, “Land of Flat Water: Poetry and Recollections.” It’s a book collecting mostly poetry that I wrote while growing up in Lincoln, Nebraska. A lot has changed since I was a teenager, but I find these stories and poems reveal a great deal about myself at the time. There are experiences that I think are fairly universal with adolescence and young adulthood that I think you can relate to.

Here is a my poem from my seni...

Review: Your Zone Plastic Round Plate

If you follow this blog you know that I love travel and planning for trips. Often the best deals in travel gear – from local staycations to mid-range to international – are found in the most unusual places. Case in point: Your Zone dinnerware.

Though marketed for kids, both generally and specifically, Your Zone offers plates (7″ x 1.125″ high), 15 oz tumblers, and bowls (5″ diameter, holds 1 1/2 cups) sized to appeal to and designed around kids.

Your Zone plate features a raised rim that makes it travel friendly.

But these are not just for kids. I lov...
