More Informal Appearance News
According to the view counter, I'm the only one visiting this blog but so be it. I don't mind hiding in plain sight. ;)
I took five copies of The Road to Fluffer with me last night to the local watering hole, where a few of my long-time friends were waiting for me to get them copies. I ended up selling two copies and giving away the rest, including one to a local English professor who was there for the open mic.
Response has been most favorable so far, almost two weeks since release. The book is getting out there, slowly but surely.

Third Time Is a Charm!
Today, I will be running some copies of The Road to Fluffer to give to a couple of professors who were instrumental in convincing me to take my writing career a little more seriously. For many in my life, this book is a result of their efforts, too.
Also, if anyone out there is looking to review it, a page has been set up to keep things organized: http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1...
Don't be shy. I'm here to make friends.

Second Post - It's a Trend!
I received my box of books today from createspace, 25 copies of The Road to Fluffer. I am impressed with the quality of the books, nice and glossy. Everything else I was responsible for so I can't say I don't like the font or the artwork, which is one of the perks of doing it yourself! Ten copies are spoken-for but I would really like to get this book beyond friends and family...the story deserves it, I feel. But more important than any number of copies sold, I am satisfied as it is and am anxious for other people to read and enjoy it. I suppose that's a typical feeling among writers.
I hope I have some luck getting the book reviewed, since that would make a big difference in the number of eyes it attracts. The review doesn't even have to be positive. The majority of reviewers can't bother to spell-check their own reviews so I don't hold much faith in getting The Road to Fluffer reviewed next to the latest paranormal romance or chick lit offering. I'm hoping that the book will be one of those that people have to find, anyway. The best ones always are.

First Post!
I am re-entering the world of blogging, which Goodreads has conveniently given me easy access to. This might be a good sign, as far as consistency goes, even more so if I keep this blog centered on books and writing, instead of everything distracting under the sun.
If you don't know me, I'll begin with a brief introduction and move on from there: I've been writing fiction and poetry for about twenty years, along with being a lifelong reader. I "officially" began my writing career in 2007, after winning two local poetry slams and twenty publications in two years.
In October, 2012, I released my debut novel of humorous rock & roll fiction, The Road to Fluffer. I live in Saginaw, Michigan with my family and work as a Paralegal in Flint.
The book is getting a lot of interest and for that, I am thankful. I also had a bit of good luck by winning a month's worth of front-page ad space at http://www.thereviewreview.net/, which required me to whip up a small banner ad in about an hour. I think it turned out as well as I could get it, not being a visual artist by most stretches of the imagination.
Anyway, that's about it, in a nutshell.
