99 CENT SALE!

I am thrilled to announce that during the month of August, The First Night, Book ONE of The Night Series is the Featured Sale by my publisher Beachwalk Press!

Can the last place she needs to be become the first night of her forever?
She planned to meet her coworkers for drinks and be home in a few hours. Getting drunk and staying out all night was not an option. Not for Kayla Dobbs. Going to a bar was already pushing her limits. Between her full-time job and night classes, there was no time to spare for a social life, and certainly no time for a relationship. But when she meets Gannon, the sexy bartender whose hypnotic eyes seem to follow her every move, she wishes things could be different.
Although Kayla doesn't recognize him, Gannon knows exactly who she is—she was the one girl in high school he'd always wanted but had been afraid to pursue. He's changed a lot since high school though, and maybe now he has a chance at making that dream come true.
As she breaks free from her self-induced lifestyle of studying and work, Kayla realizes that no matter how concrete her life plan is, sometimes it only takes one night, one person, to alter it forever.
Content Warning: contains descriptive sex and strong language

THE FIRST NIGHT – EXCERPTMusic blared from the band, pounding in Kayla's ears and masking the nervous hammering in her chest. She tossed the apprehension from her head. The bartender was watching her again, and she was glad. After all, it had been a long time since anyone held her interest and he…well, he seemed to be matching her awareness. She was determined to talk to him, and with liquid courage having her back, she was in rare form. Feeling tenacious and certain, she licked her lips to make them shine and walked
toward the faintly familiar man.
The closer she got to the bar, the more the courage escaped her. Never in her life had she approached a man she was attracted to. "Just go to the bar and order a drink," she said quietly to herself. "He won't bite."Kayla grinned, took a deep breath, and settled on a bar stool. She didn't have to wait. The bartender met her as she sat. His gaze held hers for a second longer than she was comfortable with, and her breath hitched in her throat. She moved her stare to the shelves of bottles behind him. Without her asking, he placed a shot of tequila in front of her. She slowly traced the rim with her index finger, trying to think of something clever to say when he sat another shot on the worn mahogany bar top. "Thanks, but I can't handle two more. I'd like to be able to walk out of here."He held the extra glass up to her eye level, leaning toward her, his eyes burning into hers. "This one is for me. I'd like you to be able to walk out of here too. Let's have a toast."People around the bar repeatedly shouted out their orders, but the bartender didn't seem to hear them, or if he did, he didn't acknowledge them. Two other guys serving drinks took up the slack.Kayla picked up the small glass of liquid meant for her and slowly batted her lashes. "A toast to what, exactly?"She couldn't help but notice the black scribe tattoo on the inside of his upper arm and wondered what it said, but didn't allow her eyes to dwell as they followed his arm to his shoulder and to his neck. She imagined her tongue trailing across his skin and quickly flushed. He smiled, and his eyes sparkled as he clinked his glass to hers. "To four-inch, platinum heels and jeans that make an ass like yours trigger heart attacks for all that may lay their eyes upon it."Kayla laughed out loud. He had to be joking, how cheesy. "Well, I wouldn't say it has such an extreme effect on everyone. Does a line like that work on every female?" She licked her hand where he'd showed her earlier and grabbed the salt shaker. He leaned in closer, inches from her, his gaze intense. "I couldn't be more serious. I've always—""Gannon!" one of the other bartenders interrupted. "We've got a fight!"His eyes narrowed, and irritation spread across his face. He glanced at the anxious announcer behind him and back to Kayla. "Give me a few minutes?"She watched him jump across the bar and disappear into the crowd. Shivers went across her skin as she noticed the muscles in his arms flex when he lifted himself over the counter. Forgetting about the salt, she tossed the shot back and helped herself to the one he'd left on the bar. As an afterthought, she bit into the lime. His name is Gannon.

Excerpt - Can't Let You Go

I am thrilled about this up coming release and have been waiting rather impatiently to share the excerpt with everyone! Please enjoy!

Can't Let You Go by Sidda Lee Tate

Lynette slipped her shoes off, rolled her jeans to her knees, and dipped her feet in the cool lake. A massive weeping willow loomed overhead, by the light of the night the cascading leaves looked like a flowing waterfall. She stared at the tree for a moment then flashed Ty a smile. "Thanks for bringing me here."He put the cooler down next to an iron framed chair with beige cushions and sat on the edge. "I called in a favor. No big deal.""Sharon and Kyle are pretty great. I've been to their house, seen the tropical paradise backyard, but this… I had no idea it was so beautiful. No wonder Kayla asked to have her wedding here." She raised an eyebrow, gave him a teasing grin. "Have you decided yet if you're going?""Depends.""Well, if you do go, be warned, there will be dancing." Lynette plucked her feet from the water and stood. She grabbed her phone from her front pocket and searched through her music. She'd never danced lakeside under moonlight, and didn't want to pass up the chance, or the opportunity to be in his arms again. "You might want to practice. After all, there's no better way to woo the ladies. What will your date think if you're not fully prepared to swing her around the dance floor as if you own it?""Are you saying I'm a bad dancer, Miss Brooks?""Nope. I'm seizing the moment." She hit play on her phone, and a slow melody filled the silence of the night air. "Dance with me.""Here?" he asked, glancing around at their surroundings."Of course! Why not?" Lynette grabbed his hand and pulled him to his feet. The hint of a smile tugged at the corner of his mouth. The gesture caused all kinds of crazy little birds to take flight in her chest. "What else are we gonna do? Sit here and drink beer until we both pass out?" She laughed once then stood firm, feigning a serious face. "Wait, you didn't bring me out here to the most romantic spot I've seen in forever for nothing, did you?""I thought you'd like it." A huge smile plastered his face.Ty took her other hand, maneuvered her in a half twist so her back was to his chest, then spun her out to the extent of his arm and back in where they faced each other. His right hand landed on the small of her back and pulled her close. He chuckled and did some kind of waltz type step to the music. Placing his palm on her chest, he pushed until her back arched in a way she never knew it could. Slowly, Ty ran his hand down the length of her torso, leaving a trail of unbridled heat that sent every ounce of blood in her body gushing straight to her core. By the time he jerked her back up her entire body had become a trembling heap. When their eyes met, she nearly came apart and fell through the cracks of the wood decking. What the hell?Lynette wrapped her arms around his neck to keep from sliding through his hold, and tried her damnedest to control her lungs. She swallowed hard to tamp down the shaking in her throat. It didn't work, and her words came out sounding weak, quavering. "Someone's showing off.""Someone asked for it," he said, low and resolute.   ~ ~ ~  ~ ~Thanks so much for stopping by.

The corporation is Liam's life. He'll do anything to keep his cousin's hands off of it, including finding a woman who'll bear his child. Though finding the right woman seems an impossible task since he doesn't have room in his life for anything except running the company.
He doesn't want a wife, just an heir.Abby Haden's family is about to lose their ranch, the only life her ailing father and brother have ever known. She feels helpless and is desperate to help. When the most coveted bachelor in Austin, Liam Whitmore III, also known as the Takeover Tyrant, offers to pay her to have his child it seems too incredible to be true. She's all but given up hope of ever having a baby. Not only will her dream of being a mother come true, but she can also save the family ranch.
It was just supposed to be a business deal, but Abby and Liam find it hard to keep their hearts out of what it takes to make a baby. Even as they sort out their feelings, others have their eye on Whitmore Incorporated. Liam and Abby will soon discover how far they'll go to make sure Abby never produces that heir.
Content Warning: contains graphic sex, explicit language, mild violence, and a heroine with a history of domestic abuse

The Baby Contract – ExcerptAbby closed her eyes tight and pressed send on her phone. Liam's phone rang once, twice, three times. A bit relieved, she waited to be routed to his voicemail.
"Liam Whitmore's office."
She sucked in a hard breath and nearly dropped the phone. "Uh…hi…this is Abby Haden, Abigail Haden that is."
"Yes, Miss Haden," the receptionist said quickly. "Please hold."
Several seconds passed.
"This is Liam."
"I…" Abby paused, searching her heart one last time. Her grip on her cellphone tightened, and her courage failed. "I…I…"
"What's the holdup?" Liam asked, his voice gruff.
She flinched. "H-holdup?" she stammered.
"Seven hundred fifty thousand dollars, and that's the final offer, Miss Haden. Take it or leave it."Abby blinked. "That's not—"
"Take it or leave it," Liam interrupted. "I want an answer now."
His brisk tone set her on edge and raised her ire.
Her courage returned. "Fine, but I have a requirement."
His pause felt tangible through the phone, and she feared he'd had second thoughts. Not that she'd back down from her decision.
"What is it?" He nearly growled the question.
She filled her lungs with air. "I want two hundred fifty thousand upon conception, the rest after the baby is born."
Another pause. "We have a deal." His anger had disappeared, his voice holding no hint of emotion.Abby blew out her pent-up breath. "Okay, good. I've been unable to find a clinic for the…the artificial, um, you know." She placed a cool palm on her flaming hot cheek. If it was possible to die from embarrassment, she'd be a goner for sure.
"I'm not following you, Miss Haden," Liam said. She heard papers shuffling in the background. "I'll have the contract drawn up."
"Artificial insemination," Abby blurted out.
"Artificial insemination?" He sounded taken aback. "I hadn't considered any such thing."
Abby frowned in confusion. "How else are we going to get me pregnant?"
Liam's laughter echoed through the phone. Rich and throaty, it sent a hot tingle down Abby's spine. Goose bumps broke out over her skin.
"Miss Haden, there are such pleasurable ways of making a baby that are quite successful," he said, his voice dropping to a deep rumble over the phone. Abby took a shuddering breath as it did obscene things to her insides. His tone returned to its more business-like manner. "I have a cabin in Aspen. As soon as your cycle is at the most likely time for you to conceive we'll fly up there for a week," he said. "AI would take too much time," he added.
"I-I didn't plan on that," Abby stuttered, her mind reeling. Sex hadn't been in the equation when she'd made her decision. Sex? With Liam? Oh my God. Her heart kicked into overdrive. "Look, Mr. Whitmore—"
"I'll set up an appointment with my physician for STD tests. Can you be there tomorrow afternoon by, say…" He paused briefly. "Three-thirty?"
"Mr. Whitmore, I—"
"Do you know when you'll most likely ovulate again?"
Abby blinked, she was being steamrolled.
"Miss Haden, it's a simple question. I need to know."
She looked at her calendar, she'd already figured up the days in case she'd gotten an appointment at one of the clinics she called. "Um, next week, but listen—"
Liam pushed on. "I'll have everything set up. We can leave for Aspen late Sunday evening. My personal assistant will be in touch tomorrow morning to give you directions to my physician's office."
"Mr. Whitmore, there's no way I can get off work for a week on such short notice. It's Tuesday," she insisted, trying to backpedal.
"It's taken care of. Don't worry, Abigail," he said.
The sound of her given name rolling off his tongue caught her off guard. It stopped her next objection dead in its tracks.
"What's your contact number?" he asked.
Abby gave him her cellphone number.

After a quick 'thank you' Liam hung up, leaving Abby in a bit of a stupor. His driven personality explained his business success, as well as the rumored success he had with women. He was a raging river and she had been helplessly swept along in its current.

In Love and War by Tara Mills

Sometimes love really is worth fighting for, but picking your battles isn't so easy—especially when lives are at stake.

Personal tragedy and the loss of both parents at a young age made Ariela Perrine cross self-sacrificing hero types off her datable list. But Ariela is literally swept off her feet when an accident brings her face to face with an unforgettable pair of blue eyes, a playful smile, and an overly affectionate dog.
Oh yes, journalist Dylan Bond makes her sizzle, but dare she risk it?  After all, he's just returned from covering conflicts around the globe. With his assurance he'll be handling domestic stories from now on, Ariela's weak resistance crumbles and their relationship intensifies at a dizzying speed. Then an unexpected phone call lures Dylan back to Iraq and he falls off the radar. His disappearance will test them both in ways neither expected. Will it bring them closer or destroy their fragile peace forever?
In Love and War is on sale now on Amazon.

EXCERPT“Please, come in.” Ariela grabbed her sweater off the hook on the wall and slipped it on, feeling a little underdressed in her pajamas. What on earth was he doing here, and how had he found her? Not that she was complaining. Oh no, far from it. He’d made a startling impression on her earlier today. When he’d smiled at her, she could have sworn his brilliant blue eyes were dancing like fairies at a midsummer frolic. Odder still, when he spoke she’d imagined butterflies circling her head. She’d heard tinkling bells. At the time, she hoped it was because of the knock on her head. Now she wasn’t so sure. Just looking at him again was doing crazy things to her mental and physical circuitry. The guy entered the apartment and gaped at the furniture right out of the sixties. Very familiar with this reaction, Ariela laughed.“Yeah, I get it. The Jetsons meet Beetlejuice, right? Probably not the décor you’d expect two interior designers to have.”He shook his head, still blinking as he took it all in.Overlapping the edges of her unbuttoned sweater, she hugged herself, painfully aware she wasn’t wearing a bra. “Well, there’s a simple explanation. When you’re cash poor and starting a business with next to nothing, you can’t exactly go wild in your own apartment right off the bat. We’re still living with the furniture we had during college, courtesy of Uncle Henry and Aunt Rose—with a few freebies thrown in to make it really eclectic.”She gestured to their space-age teal sofa. “Please, have a seat. Appearances aside, it’s actually quite comfortable. Can I get you something to drink—juice, tea, coffee maybe?” Anything, anything at all?Turning, he flashed a little dimple. “No thanks. I’m fine.”He’d get no argument from her. They sat down and he looked pained when she settled into the bright tangerine-colored armchair. Understandable. It did clash jarringly with her pajamas—pastel balloons floating across a soft pink background. The poor guy blinked several times, seemingly trying to handle the color overload. Biting her lip so she didn’t break out laughing, Ariela tucked her feet up and gave him a slow, curious smile. He sat up straight, recognizing his cue. “Right. Sorry. I suppose you’re wondering why I’m here.”“It crossed my mind,” she admitted.“I didn’t get a chance to give you that business card before they carted you away.”“Oh, and you brought it to me? That’s so nice of you. Thanks.”He peered at her intently, more serious now. “How are you?”Even though she didn’t know him, there was something in his expression that made her believe he could be trusted, and more importantly, he wouldn’t have asked about her if he didn’t honestly want to know. The naked concern radiating out of his deep blue eyes transformed his handsome face into something miles beyond devastating.“I have a mild concussion.” Why was she blushing? The corner of his mouth curled up a smidgen. “Headache?”She felt her warm cheeks flare hotter. What was wrong with her? “Not anymore.”“Good.” He broke into a full-blown smile and settled back on the sofa, apparently satisfied.Still reeling from the power of his smile, Ariela shifted uneasily in her chair. “I have a confession— I can’t remember your name. It’s really bugging me.”His head dropped back and he laughed. “Dylan Bond.”She brightened. “Like in Bond, Dylan Bond?” She’d remember it now.His eyebrows flicked up in amusement. “Something like that.”“Dabbles in international intrigue?” She was toying with him, but it was fun.He flashed a sexy-assed smile. How many kinds did the guy have? “I’m comfortable being in the middle of the action, but I’m back to working domestically again.”Say what? Ariela’s eyebrows rose so high she felt her hairline shift. “I think I need a translation. What is it you do?”He had a great laugh. “I’m a journalist. I just finished a stint in Iraq, but I’m back now. It’s nice not having to deal with body armor and helmets.”Looking skeptically back at him, she assumed he was putting her on. “Is that right?”“Actually, yes.” He shifted onto one butt cheek and pulled out his wallet. A second later, he handed her a press pass from a recent event. “I’m working out of my house now—mostly covering the political side of the war.”She read the pass, her doubts dissolving. “You actually live around here?” She handed the card back and he put it away.“Sure, why not?”Shrugging, she said, “Well, Lewiston isn't exactly Washington DC.”“With the internet and a telephone, you can stay connected from pretty much anywhere. Still, I do plenty of traveling and Washington is only a two hour drive. I can be there and back before Max even notices I'm gone.”“Max?”His blue eyes were dancing again. Hello tinkling bells. “My retriever.”“Ah yes, I remember him now.”Dylan grinned. “He’s probably the reason you woke up wanting a wet wipe.”She laughed and his smile deepened. That dimple of his was growing on her.“Listen,” he said, leaning forward, elbows on his knees. “How about going out with me sometime? We can do something gentle—bumper cars maybe?”She waited for her retreat mechanism to kick in. It was strangely silent. “Here I was, hoping you’d suggest hang gliding or bungee jumping.”“Anything you want. I’m flexible.”Another perfect smile flashed at her and Ariela’s heartbeat spiked. “Sure, why not?”“Good.” He stood and pulled the business card out of his front pocket. “Here, before I forget.”Ariela unfolded her legs and reached for the floor with her bare feet. When she rose he was right there with the card. Taking it, she noticed he was taller than she’d initially thought. She supposed that made sense. How well can you judge anyone’s height when you’re on your back? She walked him to the door. Opening it before she could, he turned and asked, “When?”“When what?” She watched his eyes move as he took an unabashed tour of her face.“When can I take you out?”The birds in her stomach were back, fluttering away. Good thing they were keeping the noise down. “Whenever?”Dylan gave her a meaningful look, full of promise. “Expect a call.”Ariela closed the door behind him and fell against it. If she hadn’t locked her knees, she would have been a puddle of melting woman on the floor. As Dylan’s footfalls faded out and the back door shut, she pressed a hand to her excited heart. Something told Ariela that she was in for a wild ride with this one. Hell, just sitting in a quiet room with Dylan was exhilarating. Now she knew it wasn’t just the concussion. There was far more at play here. Scary. She was about to find out whether Dylan’s hands were capable and steady on the wheel, because he was already in her driver’s seat. She knew it, and judging by the look he gave her on the way out, he knew it too. Suddenly the Beatles were singing Drive My Car in her head.

Hypnotized by Lacey Wolfe

HypnotizedA new adult romance by Lacey Wolfe

Paisley I’m discovering who I am in this world. Venturing out on my own, away from my parents, and finding out what life is really all about. College isn’t as easy as I thought it would be, especially with my best friend Evan becoming someone I hardly recognize.
But then I met Gabe. He changed everything. My life will never be the same.

Gabe I lived my life day to day, waiting for something great to happen. Then she walked into the coffee house, with her long legs and killer smile. I had to know her. Nothing was going to stop me. She hypnotized me from the moment I laid eyes on her.And after the first kiss, my fate was sealed to Paisley.

Content Warning: This book is recommended for ages 17 and up. Adult situations, including sex, underage drinking, and drugs will be found within these pages.

ExcerptAs I walked down the sidewalk in the Georgia heat, I tried not to let what Kristy said bother me. I wasn’t attached to my parents. Not really. I had a good relationship with them. We didn’t fight much. The horror stories Kristy used to tell, though. Her mom and her did not get along. She spent most of her time with me because of the constant screaming. I wasn’t surprised she had no problem leaving the state and not looking back.So maybe it was time to move out. I was eighteen, nineteen in a few months, after all. I guess it was time to do it, but I just wasn’t feeling that push. Maybe once classes started and the commute was too much.Next to the entrance of the coffee shop was a bike. Not a bicycle; a big motorcycle. I rolled my eyes at the pretty piece of machinery. How could someone be so inconsiderate to park there? It wasn’t a parking spot. Some people had no common sense, or even cared about how rude they were. Hopefully, some cop would ride by and give this jerk a ticket. The dimly lit shop threw me as I stepped inside, the only lights by the register. The walls were painted a deep blue, and it was cool, almost to the point my skin bubbled up with goose bumps. Note to self: Don’t come here to study without a flashlight and sweatshirt. The various drink offerings were written in neon chalk on a giant chalkboard by the register. I had to admit, it looked kind of cool. The café had a laid back air to it and would probably be a great place to hang out with friends. As I stared at the board, I got the feeling someone was watching me. Glancing over my shoulder, I noticed him in the back corner. He was definitely staring at me. I tried to look away, but I was drawn to him. He sat there, leaning back in the chair, as he took a drink from his cup, still gazing at me. Then I noticed the helmet on the table. There was no way that guy had the motorcycle out front. He wore a pink button-down shirt and dark jeans that appeared to be pressed. “Can I help you?”I spun and saw a young woman behind the counter. “Uh, yeah. Sorry.”“Didn’t mean to scare you.” She smiled as she twirled her long, brown locks.I didn’t mean to stare at that guy for so long. It was like he’d hypnotized me. “I’ll take a tall iced mocha.”The girl picked up a cup and with sharpie in hand asked, “Name?”“Paisley.”After I dug out the exact change—yes, I’m one of those people—I stepped back to wait. Every nerve in my body told me he still watched me, but I wouldn’t look at him. Absolutely not. Okay, one glance won’t hurt.Damn. He was hot. He kept his dark hair short, but long enough that if I kissed him, my fingers could tangle in his hair.Kiss him? I would not be doing that. “Paisley,” the lady behind the counter called.I turned my attention from the strikingly sexy guy back to the barista and thanked her as I took my cup. I needed to get out of here. Keeping my focus on the door, and away from the hot guy, I made a beeline for the door. Before I could make my escape, he reached out and touched me, stopping me in my tracks. Wow, I hadn’t realized his table was so close to the door. “Hey.” He grinned, oh so sexily.Taking a deep breath I said, “Hi.”“I’ve never seen you in here before.”If I’d known this place was full of hotties, I’d have been here more. “First time.” I took a sip of my drink.“I hope it’s been a good experience. Perhaps I’ll see you again.” He tapped his fingers on the table, never blinking.“Maybe.”

Excerpt
“Can I walk you to your car?”“Thank you.” Sophia got up from the table and took his hand. “I’m parked right out front.”Pax led her across the dance floor, waving to the few people who were left, and then out to the parking lot.“It’s that one.” She pointed to her beat-up car, the one she’d bought her freshman year of college. It was used then but it still managed to get her where she needed to go. “Probably not as nice as what you drive.”He leaned her against the car and wrapped his arms around her waist. Her heart pounded hard against her chest, strumming loud between her ears. She could smell the beer that lingered on his breath. His hazel eyes narrowed as he swiped the tip of his tongue along his top lip before tilting his head.“I have a feeling I’m going be seeing you in my dreams tonight.” He sighed as he brought his mouth to hers. “Give me something to remember these next few days.”She nodded as she placed her hands on his broad shoulders and guided him to her, closing any space between them. When his warm lips touched hers, she thought she would explode. A burn coursed through her and settled between her legs. The mild tingling she’d experienced when they danced was nothing compared to the intensity she felt now.As he deepened the kiss, his tongue massaged hers. Increasing his hold on her hips, he pinned her between the car and his massive thighs. She tightened her grip on him when his erection grazed her center. Every nerve ending in her begged to be satiated. The ache inside her stomach moved lower until the dampness invaded her panties. Her nipples poked against the thin material of her silk bra. When she moaned into his mouth, he placed one last kiss on her lips before pulling away. He looked at her for a moment, pressing his forehead to hers, as he stuttered a few words.“That was...well, I’ve never...” He ran his fingers through his hair. “You have me tongue-tied, sugar. That doesn’t happen often.”Now she wanted to know what else he could do with that tongue.“You best get in that car and drive away before I...”She’d never wanted to have a one-night stand more than she did at that very moment. Maggie had said if there was ever a guy to have one with, Pax would be the one. He was a no-strings-attached player. Why hadn’t he asked her to go home with him?“Be safe driving home.” He reached for the handle and opened her door. “You have some sweet dreams. I know I sure will.”Sleep? That was the last thing on her mind.

Phantom Lover

Phantom Lover by Tamaria SoanaMorning and thanks for having me on your site today! I’m here to tell you about my newest release Phantom Lover. The idea for Phantom Lover came to me one day last year while I was driving and Sweet Dreams by Beyoncé came on. I couldn’t get the idea out of a phantom lover of sorts out of my end, so I began to hash out the story. ~*~*~Can true love transcend life and death?
Olivia Shaw-Clayton’s life revolves around her job ever since her husband was killed eight months ago in Iraq. She slaves away at her desk in hopes of numbing the pain of her loss and the guilt of longing to fall asleep once again to be joined by her phantom lover.  Phantom Lover is erotic short story with a paranormal twist!
Read an Except:
Olivia was out waiting for her friends at Vipers after work, when in walked the most gorgeous man that she’d ever seen wearing an Army uniform. He was tall and built like a god. She watched as he took off his coat and placed it over his shoulder.  She licked her lips at the sight of him in a t-shirt.  His huge arms were covered in tattoos. She knew she was staring, but couldn’t tear her eyes off of him. Finally, she turned away and took a sip of her almost empty drink. When she looked up again, she found the most amazing hazel eyes gazing at her. She thought her heart was going to stop right there. He smiled and began to walk toward her.
“Hello, my name is Aaron Clayton and I was wondering if you’d do me the honor of having a drink with me?”  He extended his hand.
Olivia bit her lower lip and took his hand in hers. He smelled just as good as he looked. It was a mix of amber, musk, and spice.
“Hi,” she finally sputtered out as he brought the top of her hand toward his mouth. She cleared her throat. “My name is Olivia.”
“Nice to meet you, Olivia.” His smoldering eyes never left hers as he placed a gentle kiss on top of her hand.
Her heart fluttered and a warm jolt rushed through her body. A feeling she’d never had before. All her senses seemed at that moment to be on fire. All she could think, smell or breathe was this stranger that stood in front of her. She cleared her throat again, in hopes of snapping herself out of the trance she was in. “I’m meeting my friends, but I’m early, so a drink sounds great.”
He smiled. My friends are in the back playing pool, but they can wait.” He winked. “What are you drinking?”
“Gin and tonic, please.”
He leaned toward her. “I’ll be right back,” he whispered in her ear.
A shiver went down her spine and her stomach fluttered as she watched him walk toward the bar. By God his ass is fine! Her mind swirled with all the things she would like to do to that body. Get a grip. Olivia. You just met him and you already want to jump his bones. Olivia looked around the bar and noticed that most of the girls’ eyes were on Aaron. Jealousy spiked through her veins but at the same time she felt a little smug that he'd walked up to her. Now all she needed to do was figure out how to get to know him better. If she had her way she would be underneath him by the end of the night.
“Here you go,” he said as he handed her a drink. “So, Olivia, tell me about yourself?”
She quickly glanced around at all the other females glaring at her and a large smirk crossed her lips. Ladies, eat your heart out! He’s talking to me. She quickly focused her attention on the god in front her, smiling at her with the sexiest dimples she’d ever seen, and she melted.

Celebrating Australia Day

Beachwalk Press goes down under!

Join fellow Australian authors Imogene Nix, Jess Buffett, Larisa Anderson, Hazel Gower, and Susan Child as they celebrate Australian Day. From January 24th-26th, their books will be on sale at theBeachwalk Press website for 99 cents!
On Sunday, January 26th, they’ll be chatting in the Beachwalk Press Readers Group on Facebook.Be sure to stop by and get to know the ladies down under a little better.
Below, Imogene Nix gives her view on Australia Day.
Australia is such an interesting country. We are one of the world’s most urban settled countries, yet we have such an affinity to our farming heritage.  The immortal words of Andrew Barton (Banjo) Patterson:

And the bush hath friends to meet him, and their kindly voices greet him
In the murmur of the breezes and the river on its bars,
And he sees the vision splendid of the sunlit plains extended,And at night the wond'rous glory of the everlasting stars.
Yet Patterson, a solicitor (Lawyer) was actually an urbanite from Sydney (though originally born on a property in New South Wales.) The works of Paterson are etched into the psyche of many an Aussie… They include The Man From Snowy River (ever seen the movie? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Man_from_Snowy_River_(1982_film) ) and Waltzing Matilda.  If you haven’t ever heard/read/seen these, I recommend you do!
But back to my original post. Where most countries have a “single definition” of what they are, we don’t. Being such a diverse country, in fact over a hundred years ago, we were struggling with out identity, just as we do today. But what is an Australian?
Some would say it’s a “Ringer” (cowboy) from the Outback… Others will tell you it’s the blond haired blue-eyed surfer dude from Bondi.  I guess, because most of my married life has been in regional and remote Queensland I tend to gravitate towards the first.  I live right alongside some great Australians – they epitomise (for me) what being an Aussie is all about – a person who becomes stronger through adversity and finds workable solutions to problems because parts and items aren’t available. Let me give just one example.
The young guy my oldest daughter travels to work with every day  is an excellent example. He was a Queensland Hero during the floods 3 years ago. He works for the local council and when our water resources were down to 3 hours left, he organized a crew, walked along the railway tracks to various farms and collected agricultural pipes He then rigged a tractor to pump water from the river… which was then primary treated. Sure, we were on water restrictions and had to boil water… you know what? There was still a supply! (At the time he was a first year engineering student.)
We are a land of inventors – mainly because of geographic isolation. The Royal Flying Doctor Service is a brilliant example. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Flying_Doctors
To learn more about Aussies and their ways of dealing with life in a harsh land, just check these inventions! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Australian_inventions
So when I celebrate Australia Day, I’m celebrating not just cultural diversity, but also the long and illustrious history of people who have lived in and made their home in some of the harshest places on the planet. What’s more, we’ve thrived and found new and innovative ways to do so.
To me, that’s what being an Aussie is all about!
Happy Australia Day!
Imogene

Blurb:
A Bar In Paris

Ever considered a naughty weekend?  A “Hook-Up” with no strings? What does a woman do when she’s turning thirty? She takes a sexy weekend trip to Paris looking for commitment-free sex. Or, that’s what Davina Chalmers does, anyway.Enter Johnathon a tall charming Englishman. How can she possibly resist his charm and that dimple? But what starts out as a lark quickly becomes so much more. But how does one weekend become a lifetime? And how does a lie of omission bring everything into jeopardy?
Excerpt:
The waiter smiled and I sighed. “Time to go.” As I started to rise, gripping my bag in my hand, the bell above the door rang and I watched with interest as the sexiest man I’d ever seen entered. The cool blonde on his arm was scowling and he pried his fingers from her arm then walked away. For a moment, she wobbled on her stilettos before she sneered in her super chic French way only they can pull off and stalked out the door. It slammed so hard the panes of glass shuddered. The man scowled, but to be honest, it didn’t hurt at all. He was tall and well built. Blond hair with gray eyes.My mind screamed that this man that could probably satisfy my needs. He didn’t appear even slightly inebriated and he was obviously single now, if that little carry-on was to go by. Perhaps this was my chance? I smoothed down my black dress, making sure my cleavage was just peeking out, then I sucked in a deep, deep breath and stood, hoping to catch his eyes.I watched the man stalk to the bar and order in perfect English-accented French. “Une bière, s’il vous plait.”My toes curled at his voice and the waiter hurried to do his bidding. Mr. Sexy’s voice was cultured and deep. I like voices, particularly men’s voices. They can make me go gooey at the knees, and this one warmed my insides to the consistency of thick, warm honey. And I knew he was the one I wanted to be with all night long. The server handed over a bottle of beer and a glass, but Mr. Sexy looked at the bottle, grimaced, and then took a long pull. The other men at the bar started talking in low voices, putting aside newspapers. They paid their money and left.I didn’t want to think it was because of the dangerous aura surrounding the man. It was, after all, three in the morning. No, there had to be something else. But I was sure it wasn’t the time to ask these questions. The small bar was quiet now as I was waiting alone with the mystery man. The waiter disappeared to the back. Obviously, with only two patrons left, he could do other things. I sucked in my confidence, folded it around me like a coat, and approached the man.“Hi. Mind if I join you?”He grinned and gestured to the seat beside him. I slipped onto the small stool, perched uncertainly. Then I wiggled my bum a little, thrust out my chest, and gave him my very best come-on smile.“Looking for a hook up, are you?” His voice caused a curl of heat to gather deep inside me.I nodded slowly. Better to be honest from the start, I thought. I didn’t have time to say a word. The next thing I knew, he had me thrust against the bar, his lips on mine and his tongue halfway down my throat. But man, what a tongue it was.He played me like a violin until he lifted his head, casting a wicked smile in my direction. “Your hotel or mine?”“Umm, yours.” Right now, I felt the rosy glow of arousal roaring through me. Sexy and quick to catch on. Yep, I was sure this guy was a winner.“You’re not from around here, are you?”I shook my head. “No.”
