New Contract Signed
I woke up this morning to find a new contract from Dreamspinner Press sitting in my inbox. Hurrah! It more than made up for the fact I was awake far too early for a Saturday – football practice has a lot to answer for. I also woke up to these lovely boys on my twitter timeline, http://www.warwickrowers.org/ so my morning was complete!
This new contract I’ve just signed is for the second book in my Dragon Rider trilogy, and is scheduled to be released in April/May 2014. The first book is due out Jan/Feb 2014, and I’m excited to have both of them coming out so close together. I’m currently working on the third and final installment, and hope to finish it during NaNoWriMo. November is shaping up to be a busy month for me.

The Choosing: It’s all coming together
I go away for ten days and everything happens! While on holiday in Spain, I received the blurb, book cover, and 2nd round of edits for my upcoming romantic fantasy, The Choosing. Although I was busier than I’d intended, it was great to get things completed, and I’m starting to get very excited now.
Jerath is facing the biggest problem of his life. When boys in his shapeshifter village Eladir get their fangs, they must endure a coming-of-age rite called the Choosing, so they can take on their animal form. The rite is performed on the full moon, but trouble is, the Choosing involves having sex with a girl, and Jerath’s only interested in boys. Even if he manages to somehow get through the rite, he doesn’t know if he’ll ever find a mate in his village, where opposite-sex couples are the norm.
Even worse, he may miss the rite altogether after raiders attack his home and take several young men prisoner. Jerath will need the help of warriors if he’s to free the captive shapeshifters, so with his best friend, Serim, he flees south to find aid. Along the way, they meet Meren, a handsome warrior whose attraction to Jerath is instant and very much returned. But with the next full moon approaching and available time for the prisoners to undergo the Choosing running out, Jerath’s love life is far from his only worry.
The cover, which I absolutely love, was designed by Brooke Albrecht. It’s just how I imagined it, only better.
The Choosing is scheduled for release on October 18th, 2013

Busy, busy, busy…..
So, I’ve been busy writing these last few months. I successfully completed NaNoWriMo, and as a result I have a new romantic fantasy novel coming out later this year with Dreamspinner Press. I am ridiculously excited, I have to say.
I’ve also just completed my second novel – Torsere – which I hope will become the first part in a trilogy (fingers crossed). It’s another romantic fantasy, with dragons and elves and lots of leather. I’ve just finished editing it and it’s sitting in my pre-readers’ capabale hands. Here is just a little snippet….
The doors opened silently enough and Nykin managed to enter the room relatively unnoticed, but as he turned to push them closed, a horribly loud creak echoed around the room. Everyone turned to stare at him; all his fellow Dragon Riders, a handful of soldiers from the Torserian army, an amused-looking Princess Cerylea and a not-so-amused-looking Prince Ryneq.
The Prince glared at him for several long moments, Nykin tried hard not to blush or squirm under the intensity of it, before turning to address the lead Rider. “Now that we’re all here.”
Nykin scuttled to the back of the Dragon Riders, sliding into line beside Lyssa and Hiroth. Neither of them paid him any attention as the Prince carried on speaking.
“Prince Morkryn and a contingent of his elven guard will arrive tomorrow to discuss terms of our proposed treaty.” Ryneq walked back over to stand beside his sister, pausing a moment to smile softly at her. It wasn’t often that the Prince openly showed affection in front of his subjects, and it transformed his usual handsome, but cold-looking face, into something warm and wonderful and Nykin felt his stomach flutter.
But when he looked back over at the people assembled before him, the hard edge was back. “Nysad and I, along with thirty of the guard, will meet them at the edge of the Forest of Hervath and provide an escort back to the palace.”
Prince Ryneq was also Captain of the Guard and Nysad was his second in command. He leaned in to talk quietly with him, and Nysad nodded quickly before saluting and leading his men out of the room. “The armies of Rodeth and Athisi have been quiet as of late, and our scouts report no movement near our borders.” Ryneq paced in front of the gathered riders, looking over them as he spoke. “I don’t anticipate any trouble, but this treaty is of paramount importance and we can’t afford to take any chances.”
The Prince’s gaze landed on Nykin, and his eyes narrowed for just the barest of moments before sweeping over to Lyssa beside him. Nykin watched the Prince’s every move. He cut a formidable figure; taller than almost all his guard, with short, dark hair and broad shoulders. Nykin wished for the hundredth time that he would be noticed in return. The Dragon Riders were held in high regard by the people of Torsere, but to the prince, he was just another member of the royal army and nothing more.

Snowflakes and Strangers – released today
My new m/m short story is released today, through Silver Publishing.
Ethan had been living with Alex for over eighteen months when Alex left him for another man and his world fell apart.
Three months later, when Ethan is finally getting back on his feet, a letter arrives in the mail–confirmation of the Christmas getaway he booked with a group of friends before the breakup.
Ethan is only persuaded to go when he’s assured that he won’t be the only single person there. The other single person happens to be Riley: male, hot, single and interested in Ethan right from the start. Ethan’s not sure he’s ready to start something, but can Riley’s gentle persuasion convince Ethan that maybe it’s time to move on after all?
CONTENT ADVISORY: This title contains both MM and MF sexual situations.

December Promo Scavenger Hunt With Free Holiday Story Book Give Away and Site Wide Discount Code Scramble
Happy holidays! Silver Publishing wants to give our fans more than 60 chances to win either a free Holiday Story from our 25 Days of Christmas Releases or for a lucky random five 20% off codes! And if you are really dedicated there is a Word Scramble included that will provide a discount for titles purchased during the last week of December!
To make it even more exciting, the authors participating may offer new and interesting content or contests of their own to help distract from the frantic pace of the holidays.
So, how does it work?
In a nutshell: Find all the snowflakes every day, email us atpromotions@spsilverpublishing.com with the author name/date for each snowflake you find, check our blog daily to see if you won and then use the pertinent snowflakes to spell out an additional discount code to use at the end of the month.
Not in a nutshell: Participants go to the following blogs every day in December and find the hidden snowflakes. There will be at least two, sometimes three snowflakes to be found among the list of facebook/blogs/websites below for our authors. The snowflake will look like a variation of this:
Find them all for the maximum amount of chances to win.
Once you find the snowflake, note the letter, number or character as well as the numerical indicator (if present) on the snowflake for the scramble. The numbered snowflakes will line up to spell out your discount code.
Email us at promotions@silverpublishing.com with the name of the blog/website where the snowflakes were hidden on that date.
Important email format: Please put only the name of one author and the date in your subject line – for maximum chances to win, each snowflake/author found should be its own email for an increased daily chance to win.
If your email subject line includes the correct answer you will be entered into a random drawing to win the Christmas Release for the day you found the snowflake. There will be at least 2 winners per day; five days there will be 3 winners.
Winners will be notified in our new BLOG here:http://bit.ly/Wi7uyq = (bookmark this link so that you can check back each day.) If you are the winner for that day, email us with your email address and format desired to promotions@silverpublishing.com so that we can get your prize to you quickly.
Helpful hints: Some authors will have more than one snowflake during the event. But authors will only post one snowflake per day so search them all every day. Don’t leave any out for maximum chances to win.
Once you have found all the snowflakes, line up the letters, characters and numbers based on the numerical indicator (when present) to spell out our Holiday message and receive a discount code that will be active from Dec 25 – 31st.
Not every participating author has a Holiday release but you’ll want to collect the snowflake on their site for another chance to win the story being released that day. And…they might have one of the five valuable discount snowflakes we’ve hidden with your chance to win that day.
If the authors are running additional contests, take advantage for additional ways to win throughout the month.
