Truss: cunning policy to save us all… ‘Let them eat cake’?

The billionaires’ pin up puppet crows again…Tax cuts for a mega rich, bigger bonuses for wealthy bankers, etc.

The ‘richest donate to the Party so we will look after them’ is the thinly veiled clarion call to the Party Faithful! The elite’s darling ‘Queen of U-turns’ is no friend to the ordinary subject (not citizen) in the street. And yes, Another inept PM who surrounds herself with grovelling sycophants. Interesting times ahead for sure!

Truss’s policies seem to align so well with the followi...

The stigma and intolerance autistic people face every day!

People with autism are amongst those who have the lowest employment rates

The majority of employers appear to be oblivious to the needs of autistic people.
A report by the Office for National Statistics shows that autistic people are the least likely to be in work of any other disabled group. Just 21.7% of autistic people are in employment.
General public ignorance about autism is rife
A YouGov poll commissioned by Autistica has revealed a vast lack of understanding about autism across the UK.
For...

A ‘FREE COUNTRY’ – really? Nar – get on your knees and stay there!

A barrister who held up a blank piece of paper at Parliament Square in London claims he was told he risked being arrested if he wrote “not my king” on it.

Paul Powlesland, a tenant at Garden Court Chambers who specialises in, among other things, protest rights, is understood to have travelled into the capital on Monday after becoming concerned at reports of police targeting members of the public “exercising rights to freedom of speech”, PA news agency reports. Mr Powlesland, 36, posted a clip of...

TRUSS ENERGY PACKAGE FAILS OLDER PEOPLE (BRIEFING 42/22)...

TRUSS ENERGY PACKAGE FAILS OLDER PEOPLE (BRIEFING 42/22)

The Prime Minister’s energy statement today offered no extra help for struggling state pensioner households and indeed there was no direct mention of older people at all.

Silver Voices made the following immediate statement to the national media:

“Fixing the energy cap £500 above its current level, without increasing the basic income of millions of state pensioners, is embedding a permanent cut in living standards and will not prevent a co...

Misleading book/census threatens bias against the international Pagan Community

An ill-conceived article that is damaging and also entirely inaccurate to the Pagan Community was recently brought to my attention on Facebook.

Chasing Silver on the Old Canal

A few pleasant hours alone on Lancashire's Leeds and Liverpool Canal produced ten fish.

Sadly, no record breakers yet I am always happy when out there in the wilds using my old Spanish Reed rod, Bakelite centrepin and homemade floats.

Many anglers that I meet are often stuck on catching huge carp or pike. As for me, I just love wandering along with the old gear watching my float bob about and size never really matters. It's all just about 'being there' really.

Roach, bream and hybrids were taking...

Canal stroll that turned into a rescue mission

A pleasant nature ramble at Downholland Cross along the canal towpath today took an unexpected turn.

Four of us were minding our own business rambling along when Jasmine and Jessica, who were several yards ahead of us, came over with tales of a 'body' on the towpath.

I went ahead and discovered an elderly lady lying down who at first seemed unconscious.

Cath offered her a drink of water as the ongoing heatwave had obviously taken its toll and got the better of her. She was confused and making li...
