Happy All Hallows Read!

I hope everyone received a good book for All Hallows Read! I sent mine out to my loved ones and even picked up one for myself! I picked up "Renfield - slave of dracula" by Barbara Hambly! Scary!

So tonight at midnight will officially be NaNoWriMo. I will go to church tonight then pick up some pizza so me and my daughter can start our NaNo par-tay!

I have my outline ready! I am so ready to start writing the book! I do find it funny how I am all jazzed up and ready to start writing and then I sit in front of my computer and stare at it trying to get that perfect opening line! But once it starts the book writes itself! Sometimes I am even surprised at what happens!

All Hallows Read!

One of my favorite authors, Neil Gaiman, started All Hallows Read where you buy a scary book for someone and send it to them instead of or with candy (I don't to the candy).

This is only my second year doing this but it is truly tons of fun! Number one, I get to book shop! Number two, I get to actually buy books! Number three, I get to pick out books for my favorite people and Number four, I get to book shop!

What is better than giving the gift of adventure?!

Check out the website!

Happy All Hallows Read, everyone!

Books Sales

Today has been a very exciting day! I sold several copies of my book and found out that the Ladies' Book Club at church will be reading my book in February and asked that I attend as a guest speaker! How exciting!

I think what really overwhelms me about the whole thing is that I sit here thinking that there are people out in the world who are actually reading my thoguhts! It is crazy!

I hope you enjoy the book if you decide to read it! I'm giving away 3 free copies! Woo hoo!

Very Exciting!

My books I ordered from Westbow Press came in yesterday. Very strange, funny and exciting to see all those copies of my book!

I have set aside 3 to give away on Goodreads so I will set that up now.

The Launch Party is going forward as planned unless too many people at church buy them on Sunday, then I may cancel or move the Launch Party.

We will play it by ear and see how it goes.

Only 6 more days until NaNoWriMo!

Launch Party

My publisher (love saying that!) called yesterday to get my book order. Since I am self-publishing, I will be doing all the marketing and booksigning schedules if I want them. Westbow Press notifies me of events and conventions but I explained that my goal was not to market. I know I will need to if I want to get the book out there but my goal was to publish and let people read it if they want.

My husband and I spoke last night and we decided it would be best for him to handle all the finances so I can concentrate on writing. I can see why artists have managers!

I also spoke to my very knowledgable daughter and we decided to have a Launch Party! That will be fun and exciting!

So we will be planning a launch party combination book signing for family and friends!

I am just thrilled to have my book in print!

NaNoWriMo

I used today to finish my outline for the book I will be writing for NaNoWriMo. I am very excited about writing it and taking the NaNo challenge.

I have been writing during NaNo for two years (I know not much when you consider others but...) and I enjoy the fast pace of it simply because it forces me to write.

Don't get me wrong, I love to write but as every aspiring writer knows, life gets in the way.

Regardless of life, I am determined to get my book written in 50,000 words. It will not be complete but the basic story will be there.

So get those outlines written and gather for the midnight write-ins!

New Book! New Blog!

Let's skip the formalities and get down to the nitty gritty...my new book! Very exciting!

This book was written by me and self-published through Westbow Press a division of Thomas Nelson. If anyone is looking to self-publish I would highly recommend them! They were awesome in helping me get my book going and keeping me up to date on the progress! Everyone was great! My only regret is not paying the extra to allow them to edit the book. Soooo...if you read the book and think "this is poor writing" blame the author not the publisher!

This is my first published book but my second completed one I have written. I am in the throws of a second book and hope to have that one done and published this time next year.

Thank you for checking out my book and my blog!
