Astroid wrangler
I was listening to Neil deGrasse Tyson talk about how astroids are worth billions in dollars in rare metals, and diamonds, etc. He mentioned how “space cowboy” was going to be a new profession. So, thats what a drew, a space cowboy.
Space cowboys… Just where are the Cows?

That is awesome. Collage is a powerful medium

Quantum data teleportation achieved in…

Quantum data teleportation achieved in Delft, the Netherlands.
Scientists achieve reliable quantum teleportation for first time
Einstein is wrong? That’s the potential outcome of a quantum mechanics study as scientists race to disprove his views on entanglement.
Albert Einstein once told a friend that quantum mechanics doesn’t hold water in his scientific world view because “physics should represent a reality in time and space, free from spooky actions at a distance.” That spooky action at a distance is entanglement, a quantum phenomenon in which two particles, separated by any amount of distance, can instantaneously affect one another as if part of a unified system.
Now, scientists have successfully hijacked that quantum weirdness — doing so reliably for the first time — to produce what many sci-fi fans have long dreamt up: teleportation. No, not beaming humans aboard the USS Enterprise, but the teleportation of data.
Physicists at the Kavli Institute of Nanoscience, part of the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, report that they sent quantum data concerning the spin state of an electron to another electron about 10 feet away. Quantum teleportation has been recorded in the past, but the results in this study have an unprecedented replication rate of 100 percent at the current distance, the team said.
Thanks to the strange properties of entanglement, this allows for that data — only quantum data, not classical information like messages or even simple bits — to be teleported seemingly faster than the speed of light. The news was reported first by The New York Times on Thursday, following the publication of a paper in the journal Science.
Interesting, but still very limited…

#can you imagine if we left these 4 guys alone in the top floor of stark tower for like a month #or even just a week #SHIT WOULD GET DONE #we’d probably have interstellar travel in 3 days
i’m not a science expert. i’m not even a science novice. but that’s so interesting that these four would come up with interstellar travel when none of the 4 above are qualified as far as we know? reed richards in the mcu is just listed as a physicist, peter parker could only be linked with engineering + genetics, tony’s engineering, bruce banner is physicist in the 616 but i believe just radiology in the mcu.
know who IS an astrophysicist though?
know who has actually manipulated travel between realms?
jane foster!

STOP. ERASING. THE WOMEN.
She didn’t do shit it was already there.
OH MY GOSH THAT’S LIKE SAYING “ISAAC NEWTON DIDN’T DO SHIT GRAVITY WAS ALREADY THERE” “Albert Einstein didn’t do shit time was already relative” “Stephen Hawking didn’t do shit the universe was already there”
Those sticks that Thor used to finally defeat Malekith were definitely already there they were products of the earth and Jane and Selvig had nothing to do with their invention.
The ether was already THERE on earth I mean not like Jane was the one who found it using devices that she invented or anything and algorithms she made and physics she discovered.
The “soul forge” was already there it wasn’t like Jane figured out it was a quantum computer thing whatever she called it I mean it’s not like there could ever be any possible use for figuring out “magic” and making it into “science” THAT has no practical application.
The planets were already lining up I mean it’s not like it’s useful for her to have figured out the math and physics behind it and create a predictive engine so her and Selvig could figure out where and when the event would take place and track down the villain to that location. If the “it’s already there” argument is valid than literally every astrophysicist, quantum physicist, mathematician, biologist, zoologist, &c &c &c are a bunch of loser idiots who definitely never accomplished anything because PFTTTT what good were THEY it was already THERE
reblogging for perfect commentary.
Brilliant commentary let down by the following small points:
Astrophysicist’s don’t build spaceships, engineers build spaceships. Basically an Astrophysicist is a type of Astronomer (with a better grasp of theory, usually).
Jane Foster may have done those things (although actually Selvig did most of those things), but they had nothing to do with her day job which would largely consist of looking at radio telescope data or writing papers trying to explain why the universe is still expanding or why galaxies don’t fly apart.
Banner in MCU has degrees in biochemistry and nuclear physics specialising in gamma radiation. Radiologists are the people who take photos of bones in a hospital, they are medics not scientists, and they don’t work with Gamma radiation.
Oh and Spidey had expertise in physics, chemistry, biology, engineering, mathematics and mechanics at least until Sony got hold of the franchise, and we know they don’t want to hand it back as a Spider-man MCU movie would make their movies look like the 70s TV movie.
Plus the original poster asked what would these four do locked in the top floor of Stark Tower for a month… My guess is they’d work out how to get out…
