i swear it makes (some) sense in context: voyager edition
I’m sure the Voyager writers used to try and write some of the most ridiculous lines that they could justify within the plot.

If I ever need inspiration for designing fantasy worlds, Jacek Yerka will be my first stop. Giant wind-up clock creatures?
Good choice…

Mind-blowing Paradox War Review
A few months ago I was hanging around the time-travel group on GoodReads where I have promoted my books from time to time.
So far only one member of that group has published a review of the Paradox War books. But boy is it positive... which means a lot to me coming from someone who reads time-travel science-fiction almost exclusively.
You can read Paul Wandason's full review of the books here on his time-travel related blog (5* - I feel I did something right). If you haven't read my books it might just persuade you to start...

You can find the book on Lulu or Amazon with a search easily enough...

That certain Cache…
In an effort to get this site scoring higher on Google (page Rank is only 2!) and Bing, I've made some changes to the Theme and have altered the way that the site is caching. Specifically I am now using the WP Super Cache plugin
You may find that you have more little trouble when you are adding a comment with the page reloading much slower, but for everyone else the page should be faster and cleaner on my poor host server. If this is a problem drop my a line somehow and let me know what the problem is...
I have stopped caching the database and instead am relying on a page cache. This means that logged in users get priority (and the random backdrops and so on).
I've also fixed the Theme so that Firefox users are no longer getting the mobile theme (as Firefox has now got sensible html5 and css3 and can cope with the site properly (or at least more properly)), and have corrected the issue where the Site header was H1 as well as the Page Headline... (multiple H1 tags are terribly bad apparently- which was news to me as I always thought they were going to disappear as purely style).
So the results are: A better faster searching site, with better google page rank (I hope that one will take a little while to propagate), better SEO* for content searches, faster page serving (with lower overheads) for most users.
I can even precache the whole site (which I won't be doing) to maximise the effect, but honestly I think my server would grind to a halt if I tried to generate cached versions of the 10,000+ posts and tweets archived on the site :)
All of this has meant that today I only finished off one cover/illustration: It's for one of my favourite stories in Ironmaster & Other Tales, the rather nasty 'Beyond The Gates Of Gloaming' a tale of a bad copper getting worse than even he deserves in the form of a little Faery justice...

The trilithon is more than a little artistic license, and does not feature in the story... [/caption]
*SEO is Search Engine Optimization. Which are the rules that Google and Bing use to decide how important a page is. I've just installed the Yoast SEO plugin to handle descriptions and so on (can't hurt - might help). My site score low mostly because very few people link directly to my pages (although I know loads of people read the Science-In-Sci-Fi posts every day, but very few stop to drop me a comment or share the content) and so I don't score very highly on Google if you search for Indie Author (I score better if you search for CJ Moseley or my books though...). If you like this site (or any other Indie Author's pages) why not tweet a comment with a page link, that lets you comment (on my site at least) automatically and creates a back link to their/my site raising its profile in Google and Bing.

I thought my handwriting was too bad to write longhand, looking at this, I might have to reconsider…

Since HELLBOY was back on TV this week, here’s a sweet little #tbt of me as Abe Sapien … BUT … This is not a photo!! It’s actually a stunning piece of art by euclase here on the Tumblr!!! Totally had me fooled, and that is the biggest compliment I can give to this breathtaking piece of art!! I also love this angle , showing off the rarely seen dorsal fin going down my spine.
P.S. Before you ask, we actor types have no idea of the IF’s or WHEN’s of a Hellboy 3, but thank you so much for wanting one!

A quick update
I'm getting about one (or on a good day two) images prepared a day (although I've yet to "engrave" the images into something that will suit the style of kindles and the pulpy paperback look that I'm after...) which means its going to take a few more weeks before I'm done...
I thought I'd give you a little sneak peek at some of the images as they stand right now... Let me know what you think of the art styles and tone...
