Sorry for the last message. I wanted to ask you, as a writer , how do you think a story can have so much impact on a person? What's really magical about books, in your opinion?
I think about this a good bit. For me, books are a far more intimate connection between reader and writer than other mediums I work in. In film or tv, the audience is supplied with both the story and the visuals - little imagination needed to follow along.
A book is a shared creation. I may write the words - but the world they evoke is the reader’s own. This shared creation makes writing worthwhile, for me at least. And I think it’s why the written word isn’t going out of style anytime soon.
