Ground Control Calling
To adventure in fantasyland, or to take to the stars? That is the question: I’ve never been really fond of fantasy that is to say, when I was a child, I read fairy tales just as quick as I could turn the page. And, it has to be said, in as much volume as the... Continue reading →

Yoo-hoo, Gentoo?
GENTOO, GENTIO, GENTILE I am {to my eternal annoyance} one of those people that, no matter what it is she is doing, can stop dead in her tracks {walking, thinking, writing and yes, on occasion, mid-pee} in order to quite suddenly have to look something up in a book, encyclopaedia, or online … a habit... Get Your Lightspeed On!
WOMEN SET TO DESTROY SF Yes, you read right! Christie Yant, writing over on Lightspeed Magazine online, talks about doing this very special, women-only issue, of the online magazine which, by the way, is deliciously entitled: Women Destroy Science Fiction. I mean, come on, who wouldn’t want to subscribe to or buy that issue? The special issue is to be about the voices and art of women and completely focused on SF—no horror or fantasy. Teaming up with guest editor Christie Yant will be Rachel Swirsky—Guest Reprint Editor—along with Robyn Lupo—handling flash fiction—and Gabrielle de Cuir and Mur Lafferty covering the podcast. Submissions are open from December 16 through to Feb 14th, 2014. And only through the Moksha Submissions Portal. So, what are you waiting…
