Trần Thái Đỉnh sinh năm 1921 tại Hưng Yên. Từ nhỏ vẫn học trường đạo, nên lớn lên có chí hướng tu trì, vào trường Tiểu chủng viện Trung Linh, Bùi Chu. Sau khi tốt nghiễp tiểu chủng viện, được gửi theo học tại Đại chủng viện Saint Sulpice (Xuân Bích) Hà Nội. Trở lại Bùi Chu, học thần học tại Đại chủng viện Quần Phương, thụ phong linh mục năm 1947. Ông được chỉ định dậy học tại Tiểu chủng viện Bùi Chu. Năm 1953 qua Pháp học thêm, ông gia nhập tu hội Saint Sulpice tại Issi-les Moulineaux. Ông đậu Tiến sĩ Triết học tại Institut Catholic de Paris.

Trở về Việt Nam, ông giảng dây Triết học tại Đại chủng viện Bùi Chu, lúc đó tọa lạc tại Đường làng 21, Gia Định. Đồng thời dậy Triết Tây cho Đại học Văn Khoa Sàigon, rồi Đại học Đà Lạt. Năm 1972 ông giữ ...more
