World’s Worst Blogger is Blogging
I set up this spiffy new website (and by “I”, I mean my hubby), promised everyone I would reform my dismal blogging ways, and then promptly didn’t. I do recall mentioning something about bananas—and I intend to blog about bananas—but first I want to rant about Grass. Grass will be my very next blog post after this one.
This particular post is dedicated to letting all my readers know that I am aware of the typos that slipped through on Worlds Collide, and I want to send out a huge THANK YOU to “Jack”—one of my favoritest readers (is that a word?)—for giving me a helping hand with that. And my favorite proofreader—Christina Galvez—is a little miffed at me for not sending her the final book before I published. I admit…I rushed it. I was already one month passed the time I promised all of you it would be released, and my husband was just getting back from a year in Afghanistan, so I put a little too much trust in the editing company I hired. Bottom line, I should have read it word for word, line by line, myself before publishing it. It’s my own fault. Lesson learned. It won’t happen with the third book. Worlds Collide has been corrected, so anyone who purchased it from Amazon may be able to upload a new version (I think).
I’m busy writing the third book, which includes a lot of research (and surprises! I’m even surprising myself with this story!). I’m a big proponent of research because although I love writing fiction, I want my story grounded in reality. Sunset Rising begins as a dystopian, but the series as a whole is about society’s journey toward finding utopia in a post apocalyptic world. It’s more about the restructuring of civilization. My biggest hope is that this series engages the reader to think critically about our world and how we can change it for the better now. And please feel free to share those thoughts right here on my spiffy new website! I’d love to hear from you and get a discussion going.
I’ll have another promotion on Sunset Rising coming up in the summer, so stayed tuned for that (I’ll post the dates once I have them). I know I’m pass-due for a satellite too… and Reyes Crowe has been bugging me about that. I need to write it just to shut him up And speaking of writing, it’s time to get back to it.
Thanks for popping in and feel free to leave a comment or ask me questions. I’m always happy to hear from you!
Cheers – Susan

Satellite Stories
Satellite stories are short stories, based on minor characters and elements of the series, designed to enhance the story. Although I love writing from Sunny’s point of view, there are things happening among some of the other characters that she can’t see; hence, satellites stories allow me to give the reader a “behind the scenes” look at what is going on. Your feedback is important!
I’ll publish each satellite as a post and alert readers on Twitter and here on my blog whenever I have a new story. If you’re interested in finding out when a satellite has been released, please follow me here on my blog and/or on Twitter: @smmceachern
What’s “Ask Me” All About?
I love it when readers fire questions at me, but on my last blog they were lost among other comments and posts. I honestly think some of the questions would’ve started a really cool discussion, so I’m dedicating a special place for you to ask me things about the Sunset Rising series. Ask them here and I’ll answer to the best of my ability.
And no shananigans…keep it clean
World’s Worst Blogger gets a new website ;)
My first post on my new blog! I’d love to get your thoughts on the blog in terms of the ease of use and aesthetic value. Don’t be shy – tell me what you really think! I’m hoping to reform my ways of being the worlds worst blogger and start posting about things I really care about…like the price of bananas in North America (I can hear you groaning, but don’t hit that “unfollow” button just yet. I can make bananas interesting). And I’d like to draw your attention to the “Ask Me” icon above. This is where you can ask me questions about the Sunset Rising series and I promise to answer. Maybe we can get some lively discussions going.
Worlds Collide is now published on Amazon! I haven’t done much in the way of promoting it yet. It’s March Break in my part of the world, so I’ve been spending some quality time with my family. We just spent a lovely weekend in Montreal, although the sap isn’t running yet, so the sugar shacks weren’t open A few readers of WC have already left very flattering reviews on Amazon and Goodreads - thank you! You have no idea how much reviews help me as a new author – a million times thank you!!
Sunset Rising will be going on another book tour with Orangeberry Book Tours. If you’re interested in catching any of my guest posts and author interviews, you can follow along with the tour:

New Blog Coming Soon!
Hi Everyone,
Now that my tech guy is home from Afghanistan (yay!), my blog site will be undergoing an upgrade. A lot of you have emailed over the past year with difficulties in finding the satellite stories and/or different blog posts I’ve done, so I realize the blog needs to be better organized. My hubby…er, I mean tech guy…will be working on it today and the blog should be at smmceachern.com by tonight. The actual organization of the blog will happen over the next few weeks. I am going to use the service that allows me to bring my followers with the blog, so the transfer should be painless for us all (fingers crossed!). However, if anything goes awry for you, please email at: mceachernsm@gmail.com
Worlds Collide is still in the proofreading stage Sorry. I’m just as anxious to publish it as you are to read it. I’ll be working on it the SECOND I get it back from the proofreader. I can’t wait to get it published!
Thank you to everyone who let me know which ereader you used to read Sunset Rising. It looks like I have one reader that used Kobo, and everyone else reports using iPad or Kindle. And I want to give a big thank you to those who included where they saw Sunset Rising advertised. That was really helpful.
I hope you’re all having a good week! I’ll post again when the new site is up and running
