The Beauty of a Story

As my virtual tour for Reckoning continues, I am continually surprised and delighted by the way the story resonates differently with readers. For some, it's the music, and the bands on Kat's playlist. For others, it's her relationship with Rick. And for yet others, it's the paranormal/psychological horror aspect. And that's what I love about books. Each person brings a unique perspective to the story and the characters. While one reader may love a certain character, another will absolutely despise them. One reader may totally relate to a character's situation, and another may find it ridiculous. I had one reader who totally picked up on the hints I dropped in Reckoning that will play a part in book 2, and that was so exciting, I laughed and clapped and whooped and hollered around the room for ten minutes. I felt giddy for the rest of the day. As a writer, it is those moments that are so gratifying it empowers you to keep writing and continually strive for better.

Now, back to the story.....
