A Path of Petals, by M.A. Stacie
Griffin reached out, stopping the swing and pulling her close to him. The wooden plank rested on his thighs, nestling her ass against his groin. She tilted her face up toward him, exposing her throat and leaving her lips millimeters from his. The temptation was becoming too much, and she was having to fight the urge to kiss him with everything she had.“I’ve been talking to George and it looks like I’ll be staying for a while. At least until the house is renovated and ready to sell. I just need to make sure my business won’t suffer without me.”“Oh!” She gasped. She’d wanted him to stay, even though, in truth, she’d never really expected him to. It felt strange having him confess that, though it was difficult focusing on anything but his breath against her ear. “I didn’t think you—”“There’s one other thing,” he murmured, his lips caressing the column of her throat. All she could do was hum in response. “Let me take you to dinner, Rain.”She swallowed, lost in the sensations he was producing. This man could steal her heart and leave her broken when he left. Nevertheless, she refused to deny herself anything. Including Griffin. “Yes,” she said softly, licking her lips moments before his mouth met hers.

Business & Pleasure, by Emily Wood
"So, what are you doing here?" Mia tried to seem nonchalant, despite the fact that her body was having some kind of chemical reaction to his presence. As if from nowhere, the handsome man produced the bottle of champagne he had purchased earlier that night. "I do believe we have plans to share this." He took a step closer to her."Oh. I would, it's just we aren't supposed to socialize with the clients outside of the club," Mia said teasingly, although it was technically true."Tell me, Mia, do you always do what you're supposed to do?" It seemed as though he had expected her reaction."No, I guess not.""I've been watching you, Mia.""I've noticed." She took a step in his direction and looked challengingly into his dark eyes. "So, do you like what you see?"They were close enough to touch, and Mia's every nerve was tingling, hoping to feel his fingers on her skin. He swayed forward and, for a moment, she thought he was going to kiss her, but he leaned toward her ear instead. "I have a business proposition for you," he breathed, sending a shiver through her body before he pulled away from her.It took Mia a moment to compose herself, and his eyes sparkled with amusement, no doubt he was enjoying her confusion. "Business…a business proposition?" Mia attempted to sound as casual as she possibly could."I'm returning to my home in Tuscany tomorrow," he announced.Mia felt her heart sink, but was determined not to let it show. "Oh, it must be beautiful in Italy this time of year. But what does that have to do with me?""I was hoping you would accompany me."

Falling In Danger, by Kaylie Newell
She opened her mouth to answer, the water streaming down her face, her saturated hair just barely touching her shoulders. He turned to her, his movements deliberate and measured. Her pulse thumped in her neck, her body heating in areas it shouldn’t have. The tops of her breasts swelled over her arm which attempted to cover them, and she was aware of every single inch of exposed skin that he’d be able to see, even through the cloudy glass of the shower door. Still, she didn’t move, the words that she wanted to say thick and catching in her throat.Condensation dripped down the glass, creating jagged lines of clarity where there weren’t any before. She could tell his eyes were moving over her. He didn’t bother hiding it. They took her in, from her ankles, up the curve of her legs, over her hips, and toward her dripping chest. The knowledge sent a thrill through her. She was painfully self-conscious by nature; never in her life had she stood naked in front of a man. And certainly not one like this, a brooding, dangerous stranger. Yet she could feel the incredibly erotic, feminine power she had over him, simply by standing in one spot and staring right back. It was enough to make her body tremble in places she didn’t even know she had.Just when she couldn’t stand the tension one second longer, just when she thought she might actually open the shower door and pull him in with her, he turned away.

Lily’s Leap, by Téa Cooper
Lily could see the pale ribbon of road below cutting through the trees and the bright blue expanse of sky wide-open in front of her.“Nero. You can do it,” she whispered into his sleek, shiny neck and he snorted in response. Her thigh muscles burned as she tightened her grasp on his flanks. His muscles tensed in response, attuned to her body. She gritted her teeth and willed her shaking hands to steady. “We can do this, Nero. We have to.” Her heart hammered so hard in her chest she thought it might leap right over the culvert and down the hill ahead of them. With barely a moment’s hesitation she dug her heels into the stallion’s flanks and urged him down the hill. The last trees cleared and the sudden heat of the sun stung her face, then she crouched low over Nero’s neck. The clatter of his hooves on the sandstone surface told her they had reached the road. The blood raced through her veins, pulsing in her ears, a violent and excruciating pounding raged through her body.“Stop.” Tom’s command echoed around her as the blocks of the convict hewn, sandstone walls reared ahead of her. Surely it wasn’t such a huge jump for a horse like Nero? She leaned forward in the saddle and her cheek brushed the dampness of his neck. Time slowed. With her eyes squeezed tightly shut she sucked in a great gulp of air and clenched her teeth tightly together. Nero lifted into the air. His muscles bunched beneath her and he flew over the chiseled blocks and down the slope. Her knees gripped the saddle and she dragged the reins almost vertical as they plunged down. Tufts of wiry grass and small rocks littered the route. She flinched as Nero’s hooves crashed across them. Gasping in a quick breath, she prayed for the terrain to level off.Her lungs contracted like bellows and what little air remained, whistled out through her pursed lips. Nero tensed and she shuddered as he stumbled and then regained his balance. Her heart leapt to her throat and her wrists twisted as she wrenched on the reins to slow him. He quivered to a halt. Silver spots danced in front of her eyes and she gulped in a breath to feed her starving lungs. Nero’s muscled body trembled and quaked beneath her and white froth flecked his muzzle.“We did it, darling Nero. We did it.” The salty tang of his body filled her nostrils as she leaned over his neck murmuring endearments. She swayed with exertion and forced her rubbery muscles to respond as she squinted into the sunlight. Figures on horseback towered above her, stalled on the road. She had an overwhelming urge to wave her hand and shriek in triumph. But she resisted; this was her opportunity and she had no time to waste. She cut away to the right praying her memory of the maps was correct as she searched for the track leading her to Laguna.“Lil-eee. Lil-eee.” Tom’s call bounced off the sandstone walls. Shading her eyes with her hand she stared back toward the culvert wall. It was empty.“Lil-eee. Lil-eee.” The sorrowful echo reached her, resounding somewhere deep in her gut. Her sweat-soaked curls clung to her face as she shook her head, raging at her ridiculous foolishness. After such an exhilarating and successful leap for freedom why did she suddenly feel so melancholy? Her heels bruised Nero’s flanks and she urged him away in a fast canter.

The Unraveling of Lady Fury, by Shehanne Moore
“Aw, come on Fury, didn’t you like my kissing? Hmm?” His breath, hot and male, brushed her fingertips. He wrapped his arms around her, splaying his hands across her back, so her hand might as well not have been there for all the protection it was.But she was calm. Didn’t she have to get into bed with him after all? So, even the impulse to squirm was one she would squash. When she thought of all he had done to her, she would give him nothing. Not even the knowledge she found his proximity so unsettling that she sought to pull away.“Your kissing was fine, in its way, I suppose. But kissing is a sign of affection.”“How do you make that out?”She knew exactly what he was scratching his head about. Their love-making had been torrid. It had been sensual. It had been shaming. And it had been completely absent of any affection. Certainly on his part. So, why on earth would a kiss be a sign of anything? To him anyway. She was the damn fool who had thought it had. Who even now was forced to concede the pleasure it would be to take her hand across his face to assist his understanding of her feelings. The impertinence of the damn man, the stinging ignorance.“It just is.” She eased the distance between them a whisper. “So there will be none. Not now. Not at all.”“All right then. Saves time. It means—”“Rule two.” She saw his eyes freeze as he readied himself to yank off his shirt. She persisted anyway. Why not? In many ways she walked a tightrope here. If she paused it might be to her detriment. “You will be fully dressed at all times.”

The Monster of Fame, by Aimee Duffy (Yes, this is me)
"We only have white. I hope that's okay," Annabelle said as she pulled a bottle from the fridge."White's fine," Miles assured her.She reached for the top shelf of one of the cupboards, pulling out two glasses. A strip of pearly skin flashed at her waist as the top rose. His attention was drawn to the creamy concave of her stomach. His throat grew tight. Every part of him itched to be closer to her."Here we go." She carried the glasses over to the work surface he was leaning on. Her floral scent engulfed him."Annabelle," he whispered. She looked up at him, surprise crossing her features until she looked harder. She must have seen the feral hunger in his expression, known that when his attention dropped to her plump lips it was because he wanted to taste them. When his gaze locked hers, a flush stained her cheeks, but this time it wasn't embarrassment. Her cobalt gaze dropped to his lips and she moistened hers. Miles doubted anyone could resist this kind of desire. This feeling went beyond lust to an almost carnal level. It was all-consuming and he didn't have the strength to fight it.Worse still, he didn't want to.

Knight & Play, by Kitty French
How could she be here, half naked in his arms without having even so much askissed him?Sophie slid her hands up onto the wall of his chest and touched him for the first time. Her hands registered hard heat, and even through his shirt she could feel the steadybeat of his heart.“Unbutton it.”Oh, yes please. Sophie worked the buttons open and slid the material back over hisshoulders, and he yanked it off his arms and threw it to the floor.Up close and bare-chested, Lucien was heart-stoppingly fabulous. The soft silk ofher bra brushed against the hardness of his chest, and Sophie melted into him.Lucien’s breathing was audible but steady as he caught hold of her hands. Hesnagged them both behind her back in one of his own larger ones, and his other handslid around the nape of her neck to draw her mouth to his.She was captive, at his mercy, and she loved it.“Beautiful Sophie,” he murmured against her lips, and then, at last, he lowered hishead and kissed her.Sophie’s senses reeled at the first touch of his mouth on hers, soft and then hard andso filled with sexual intent that she trembled. He bit her lips and then licked thembetter. Explored her mouth with his hot, potent tongue as his firm hand cupped theback of her head. Being kissed by Lucien made Sophie feel as if everyone who’dkissed her before should queue up for lessons from him. Her knees buckled, but hehad her so securely in his grip that it didn’t even matter.“Easy,” he murmured into her mouth. His hand slid around her throat, and then down to trace across the silk-encasedcurves of her breasts. Sophie arched against him, desperate for more, and she groanedas his erection pressed hard into her stomach. He lifted his head to look down into her face, then eased his knee between her legs.“You have no idea now many ways I’m going to make you come.”

Too Devious to Tame, by Doris O’Connor
She noticed, of course. She would have to be blind not to. His prick seemed to be on a trip back in time to its teenage years when he'd had absolutely no control over that particular appendage. He was a grown man for fuck's sake. The last thing Jemima needed right now was him with his own version of the leaning tower of Pisa."Ignore that, cara. The thing has a mind of its own when you're around." She giggled in response, and his lips twitched in answering amusement. Some of the old Jemima showed in the mischievous glint of her eyes when she pursed her lips and ran a fingernail down his shaft."I don't know. I find it quite a compliment that you find me so irresistible." She proceeded to cup his balls and knead them, and he growled low in his throat, as his balls grew tight, and his pre cum seeped out of his slit. She swiped her thumb through the moisture and used the lubrication to run her hand up and down his cock. Giorgio closed his eyes and grabbed the wall for support, willing his body to behave. With his free hand he grabbed her wrist, halting the up and down glide of her fingers curled around his dick. "Dio Santo, have mercy, woman." He opened his eyes to see hers darkened in her own desire, her pale skin now flushed, and he gave in to instinct and kissed her. She whimpered into his mouth, and he fisted his hands into her hair, crowding her against the wall, as his tongue dueled with hers in an ever more passionate dance that left them both breathless by the time he pulled away.

Something More, by Ella Jade
Claudia leaned closer to him, took his face between her hands, and kissed him. At first, she moved slowly, but the way he looked at her with those smoldering eyes told her everything she needed to know. He was just as excited to see her as she was to see him.She ran her tongue along his lips, begging for entrance. He eagerly accepted as he parted them and slipped his tongue inside her mouth. His breath was hot and his lips were hungry as he kissed her with more force than she expected. She moved her hands up and twisted her fingers in his hair, moving him closer to her.Brody pulled her onto his lap, pushed her hair to the side, and kissed her neck. She could feel his excitement pressing against her hip. His erection was trapped between his stomach and her side. He shifted his hips and rubbed himself into her. She sighed against his mouth, but then he pulled away."Claudia." The sound of his voice was both desperate and breathless. "I could take you right here, but that’s not what I want.""It isn't?" She didn't mean to sound disappointed."Let me rephrase that." He moved her to sit beside him. "I would want nothing more than to have my way with you right here, but I don't think either of us intended it to be that way between us the first time.""You think about our first time?""Every second of the day." He shrugged. "I'm a guy."

An Innocent Abroad, by Rae Summers
Stefano stroked through the water toward her and Isobel slipped away again, making him chase after her.She was a strong swimmer, loved the water, and by the time he caught her they were both breathless, though not entirely from swimming. He tackled her, playfully wrapping his arms about her to prevent her from escaping once again, bringing her hard up against him. Their laughter died, replaced by rapid breathing and an instant sizzling awareness of each other. Her breasts pressed against his hard chest as his arms circled her waist. His manhood brushed against her thigh, hardening, and she wanted to touch it, to feel it, to see it.He smiled, a slow, heated smile that lit up his dark eyes. “Not here,” he said, reading her thoughts.“I’ll race you back to the boat.”He swam well, his strong arms propelling him through the water. But impatience lent her speed, and it was an even race. They reached the boat together, and she climbed the rope ladder to the deck, burningly aware of her nakedness as she rose out of the water, droplets sleeting from her skin. She stepped onto the deck and waited for him, so agitated she could almost hear her heart knocking against her ribs.He climbed the last rungs of the ladder and stepped onto the deck, standing straight, shoulders thrown back. His erection stood tall and hard against his stomach. She couldn’t drag her eyes away, though she was aware of his playful grin gently mocking her.Like magnets, unable to do anything but obey the laws of attraction, they moved together. This time when their bodies met there were no barriers, neither water nor air, nor any of the internal barriersIsobel had been taught were right and proper for a young lady to keep between her and a man. He wanted her and she wanted him. There was nothing else.

Real Good Man by Elise Whyles
Luke glanced up at the knock on his door and watched it swing open. His eyes widened for a second and he grinned at the familiar figure of his boss occupying his doorway. As he stepped into the room, another man moved into view and Luke felt his heart trip. Dark hair curled over tanned features, a square jaw and a slight shadow along his jaw and throat slid down into broad shoulders, thick with muscles from working out. The tanned material of his uniform stretched over his biceps, clinging to his torso before dipping into the belted slacks of his uniform.Butterflies danced in his gut and Luke swallowed, his attention lifting to meet the green stare of the stranger. He palmed his stomach, the punch of attraction stronger than he’d ever felt before. Sign me up for that rodeo. The thought raced through his head as the pair settled into the chairs across from his desk.He breathed a sigh of relief and focused on his supervisor. “Morning, Craig, what brings you to my humble, if somewhat cluttered, office.” Luke offered his hand across his desk.“Luke, hope you don’t mind us dropping in like this but I wanted to introduce you to your counterpart. Since you’re going up to be on fire patrol, he’ll be sharing the office with you until you come back down to the main office.” Craig Bortman gestured to the young man beside him. “This is Sean Tisman. This is his first field position, and I wanted to stick him with someone experienced. I know. I know you haven’t worked as a park warden for a couple of seasons, but that’s fine. You can still show him the ropes while doing your shifts.”

Serviced, by Allie A Burrow & other authors
Safely enveloped in the darkness of the alcove, the bass pounded through the soles of Kate's boots and echoed inside her ribs. She lunged and caught Mark’s face in her hands, pulling him down to kiss him, her tongue forcing a route past his surprised lips and delving into the wetness of his mouth. "Take me," she breathed. Her hand stole over the carved ridges of his stomach, following the arrow-shaped path down to where it disappeared inside his jeans. "Please..."
His mouth opened and closed and he glanced over his shoulder at the heaving dance floor. "But—"
"No buts." She reached for his fly, undoing it quickly, but instead of finding another layer of clothing, his dick sprang free and elicited a gasp from her throat. "I need this"—she fisted her hand around it, stroking him, and his eyes squeezed shut, his jaw jutting out as his head tipped back—"I need you...inside me"—she swirled her hand over the engorged head and his entire body jerked—"now."
Mark's eyes flew open and even in the dim lighting, she saw his pupils dilate, the naked desire on his face almost frightening. His fingers skipped over the back of her neck and lost themselves in her hair, getting tangled in the shoulder-length tresses she had loosely pinned up. The gentle touch was at odds with the fierce hunger in his gaze. Electric shocks surged through the many nerve endings, connected directly to her core, and she had to lean into his hand, let him support the weight of her head, suddenly too heavy to keep upright under her own steam.
He tilted it back and locked his gaze onto hers, issuing her with a challenge. "If we're going to do this"—he leaned into her, his lips rasping her ear—"right here, right now"—his gravelly voice resonated within her, hungry, powerful—"we're doing it my way."

The Playboy’s Baby, by J M Stewart
She stood frozen, her heart pounding in her throat. Dillon’s surprise suddenly took on a whole new level. “Why would you buy this house?”
“Because it’s yours. You love this house.”
Had she heard him correctly? Not daring to believe her ears, she turned to face him, stared at him and shook her head. “I’m afraid I’m not following you.”
Those dark eyes burned into hers. “I didn’t buy this house for me.”
When his meaning sank in, a shocked sort of numbness stole over her, and she turned a slow circle, taking in the space around her. “You bought this house.”
“Yes.”
“For me?”
“For you.”
The tenderness in his voice got to her. Tears sprang, unbidden, to her eyes. She faced him again and searched his gaze, her voice wobbling when she spoke. “Why would you do that?”
He touched her chin, his fingers stroking her skin. “Because it’s been in your family for three generations. It shouldn’t belong to anyone else.”

Blaze, an anthology by The Minxes of Romance

Tara Pammi , Worth the Risk

The strength of how much he wanted to be here with Annie, how much he wanted to continue, didn’t bother Marcus at all. “If you touch me, I can’t stop, Annie. It’s been six months and you taste like heaven and if you touch me…I swear Annie, I won’t be able to stop until I’m inside you.” He pressed a fierce kiss again before she could even reply. Just in case she said no, in case this never happened again, and he needed to remember how erotic she tasted.

Catherine Coles, Locked Into Love

Cassie swayed her hips in time to the music, watching the tell-tale muscle in his jaw jump as he tried to keep himself under control.“Something wrong?” she asked, blinking innocently.“What the hell are you doing?” he responded through gritted teeth.“Dancing.”“You’re gyrating.”“Am not,” Cassie grinned up at him, moving her hips in a circle against his erection. “That’s gyrating.”

Lorraine Wilson , A Kindling Romance

“Promise me something Drew.”“What?”“Promise you're not filming me on your mobile and this is going to be all over YouTube in the morning?” Polly was dimly aware her question was insulting. This guy was a professional and rules were rules, even out here in the sticks.“Trust me,” the calm, deep voice replied.Something in the warm tone and the firm grip on her legs made her want to do exactly that. She felt she might do anything he asked.Anything at all.

Her New Worst Enemy, by Christy McKellan
Gideon marched around to the other side of the table and grasped her hand, moving away quickly and pulling her with him. He practically dragged her out of the kitchen into the hallway and led her up the stairs.“Where are we going?” Ellie managed to gasp as she hurried to keep up with him. His words had caused a chain-reaction through her system that sent her blood pounding through every artery and vein at double its normal speed. She felt alive with promise and unutterable excitement. What was he going to do to her?The mere question thrilled her.At the top of the stairs he turned towards the dressing room and pulled her in with him, slamming the door closed behind them. They stood there, staring at each other, their breathing quick and light.“Come here,” Gideon said, and she responded, not allowing herself to think or wonder or even care what might happen next. It was as if she’d managed to turn off her nervousness and was acting purely on instinct. It was so freeing. The determined touch of his hands on her shoulders made her shiver in anticipation and she let out a small gasp as he pushed her around to face the long, free-standing mirror, stepping behind her so she could see the whole of herself reflected in the glass.“Put your arms in the air,” he said into her ear, his mouth so close she could feel the soft exhalation of breath against her skin. She did as she was told, raising her arms above her head and waiting, her body quivering with expectation.

Tempted by Trouble, by Michelle Smart
He had to hand it to her—years of practice had made her incredibly good at keeping a straight face. As a liar, there was no one better. “I suppose it was friends who tipped the press off about all your other behavior?” “None of it came from me.”“Pippa, you have always been an attention seeker. Why don’t you just admit you love the limelight?”  “I was an attention seeker, yes—was being the operative word—but I never wanted the press limelight.”“You courted it,” he pointed out, containing his anger by the skin of his teeth. Her lips thinned, pulling back so tightly they whitened. “They courted me. Yes, I made mistakes, but unlike other teenagers, a quirk of fate meant I was born into so-called noble stock. My mistakes were deemed newsworthy and it doesn’t matter how hard I try to move on, I am never allowed to forget it. The press is always there, waiting for me to slip up.”“And I suppose it’s the press’s fault you were charged with assault? Nothing to do with your own actions?”She visibly sagged, her shoulders dropping at the speed of a bursting bubble.“It wasn’t assault. It was self-defense,” she stated, not blinking, not breaking eye contact. “I’m innocent.” “Of course you are. That’s why you’re out on bail while your boss languishes in a hospital with a fractured skull.”

Hot Bods, a Review, and a giveaway!

I have Lacey Wolfe on the blog today telling us a little about The Hot Bods Series. These books made me a lifetime fan of Ms Wolfe’s. Read on for details of how to enter the giveaway to win a copy of one of the books from the series. Take it away Lacey…
The unlikable character’s transition into the likeable character. Say what? Over a year ago, I penned a story titled, Fool Me Once. When I started this novella, I didn’t realize it was going to be a series. My heroine had a roommate however that begged to have her story told as well. The Hot Bods series was born. Then I had to decide who would be in this series. Skylar was in book one and her roommate was Amy—which became book two. Book three feature the receptionist at the Hot Bods gym. And finally, book four, Opposites Attract, has been released and it features Francesca—the unlikable character, hopefully turned likeable. You see, Francesca was the other woman in the first book, Fool Me Once. The woman who wanted Skylar’s man. I wrote Francesca to come off as a gold digger and piece of arm candy to men. In book two, More Than Useful, Francesca was the sister to the hero, Adam, and Amy’s future sister-in-law. Yikes! And Francesca was still on the snobbish side. But when I realized Francesca would be getting a story of her own, I knew I had to let reader’s see a different side to her. Accidental Love, readers get just that, as Francesca is there for Jane and helps her with nothing asked for in return. And finally, Francesca got her story. I didn’t make it easy on her. The hero is someone from her past and he knows just who she has come across as all these years. In this novella, Francesca has to not only prove to Randy that she isn’t a gold digger, but to herself.Hopefully by the end of this series, Francesca is that one character you remember and love.To learn more about Lacey Wolfe and the Hot Bods series, visit her website: www.laceywolfe.com
Thanks for popping by today, Lacey. I love a prickly heroine and Francesca from Opposites Attract certainly delivered. At the beginning of the series, Francesca isn’t painted in a very good light and she had some growing as a person to do before I could become sympathetic with her. By the time Opposite Attracts arrived I got to see the other side of her, and when she bumped into her childhood flame, even though she broke his heart, I rooted for her all the way to the end.
Randy is the perfect hero. He’s sexy and alpha with a huge dollop of integrity. He’s about the only man I can think of to rein in Francesca and make her realize that happiness and a wholesome future is more important than material things, though it did help that by the start of the book she was beginning to believe it herself.
Opposites Attract was the perfect ending to a fabulous series, though I really do wish there would be another, maybe a divorce party between a couple or something that turns out okay. (Hint, hint Ms Wolfe). Opposites Attract is easy to get into even if you haven’t read the others, but I’d recommend starting from the beginning to get the best idea of how far Francesca has come.

Francesca thought she knew what she wanted in life until one stormy night when she got a blast from the past. When Randy receives a call at his auto shop one night from a woman whose car has broken down and needs a tow, he never imagined he'd be coming face-to-face with his high school sweetheart. Randy has never loved a woman the way he loved Francesca, but she broke his heart, claiming he could never provide the life she was determined to have. That was years ago, but he's still bitter about the way she tossed him aside.Seeing Randy again, Francesca realizes what a mistake it was to breakup with him. She'd like to try to rekindle the old flame, and she can tell he's still attracted to her too, but every time they're together, all they do is argue. Can she convince Randy she isn't the girl he remembers and that she can settle for love even if it comes without money?Content Warning: explicit sex

Excerpt:Randy cleared his throat, hoping to break the tension between him and Francesca. The way she was looking at him, he was worried she was about to pounce. It was taking everything in him to not walk over there and kiss her.Picking up a work towel, he wiped his hands on it and then directed her toward the front office. She walked in front of him and it was his turn to devour her ass. And hot damn, the jeans she wore were tight and molded to her butt perfectly. Her pants hugged her legs all the way down. She wore black boots that came to her knees. He wasn't sure what shirt she wore, because his eyes had yet to make it past her luscious behind.Once in the office, he stepped around her, getting a whiff of a very tempting smell. He quickly sat and scooted under the desk as far as he could. He was hard and didn't want her to see.Francesca took a seat in front of him and he now noticed her pink tank top that was cut low enough he got a hint of cleavage. Inhaling again, he wondered what perfume she used. It really was igniting his senses."I spent some time looking at your car today. When was the last time you had an oil change?" he asked."It's been awhile.""I can tell. And how long has the car been leaking oil?"She shrugged. "Not sure. I wasn't concerned since it was just little drops here and there.""Those little drops here and there add up. You almost had no oil in your car. And I hate to tell you, but you have torn up your engine.""Well, can't you just pop a new one in and it'll be good as new?" she asked."I wish it was that simple. Here, look this over." He slid a sheet of paper across the desk. "The top portion has to be done, the middle is recommended, and the bottom is optional. The price is on there too."Her eyes widened as she read over the paper. She then glanced up at him. "This can't be right.""I'm afraid it is. You haven't taken very good care of the car.""I get it washed and detailed all the time. I take very good care of it."Randy shook his head. "There's a lot more to a vehicle than just its appearance. You've got to take care of the things people don't see too."She was quiet for a moment and then finally spoke. "I don't know if I can afford this."He raised an eyebrow at her. "Don't you have some rich man who can pay for it?" He regretted saying it the moment it left his lips.Francesca's mouth fell open and he could see the shock on her face."I'm so—" he started to apologize."I can't believe you would say that, Randall. You of all people," she snapped."Me of all people," he repeated. "What the hell is that supposed to mean? If I recall correctly, you dumped me because you wanted a rich man to take care of you. Tell me, how is that working out for you?"Francesca stood up, placed her hands on her hips, and leaned forward slightly. As much as he hated it, his focus darted in for a peek inside her shirt."I'll have you know that I'm not the gold digger you think I am," she argued."I bet you refuse to date any man whose income level doesn't meet your standards. Tell me, why haven't you married one of them yet?""Why aren't you married? Can't find a girl who will have you as a husband?"Randy stood and stepped around the desk. "I haven't found anyone else who can start my engines the way you could." He rubbed the back of his fingers on her upper arm. "Haven't you found a rich guy yet who can kiss you breathless?"
If you haven’t read any of these books yet, well why not? The series is sexy, emotional and by the end of Opposites Attract I am not ashamed to say I had a handkerchief in my hand.

Trouble tempts me...

I rarely do proper reviews, I know it’s weird, bear with me. I’ve not only reviewed Tempted by Trouble, but have Marco and Pippa on the blog today, along with their creator. They ain’t happy chappies. I’ve let them ask their questions and put Michelle Smart in the hot seat!
Disclosure. Tempted by Trouble was gifted to me by the publisher for an honest and unscripted review. I do know Michelle, and I am a huge fan of her writing which is why I was thrilled to be offered the chance to be one of the first to read her book.
Yeah, it's hot. Read on, peeps.
Here’s the blurb:
Socialite Pippa Rowantree has always provided excellent fodder for the UK’s gossip rags. After another unfortunate scandal sends the gossips into a feeding frenzy, her shamed family retaliates by forcing her into hiding at old family friend, Marco Capello’s lush Caribbean estate—literally the last place on earth she wants to be.
As far as Marco’s concerned, wild child Pippa has ruined his life once and he’ll be damned if he lets her do it again. But it’s hard to reconcile the adolescent he knew with the mature, beautiful woman who stands before him. Soon he's questioning if everything the media is claiming about Pippa is the truth, or if he should trust his heart.
My review:

Pippa Rowantree’s life really can’t get any worse. Since her mother died, her father shunned her and all her attention seeking attempts publically ruined her reputation. Tempted by Trouble begins with Pippa flying out to the Caribbean to stay with her childhood crush to recover from an assault.
Marco Cappello absolutely loathes Pippa, and he has very good reason to. He only agreed to take Pippa in because his mother begged him. He’s Pippa’s opposite in many ways, growing up in a loving family and having to struggle hard to become the way hotter version of Bill Gates.
Having never known love since her mother’s death, Pippa keeps her emotions hidden from everyone—especially Marco. He still sees her as the wild adolescent who almost ruined him, not the hardworking woman who struggles to make ends meet. But Pippa has a backbone made of steel. She doesn’t bow down to his knee shaking presence and accusations like I would have. There were times, when he admonished her, I’d have happily run away if it were me ;o).
Eventually, Marco begins to believe her, and help her in ways he’d tried to do since she was a sad little girl at his aunt’s wedding. It’s not just compassion he feels though, there’s still a lot of distrust on his part and a raging desire between them that both refuse to act on for very different reasons. And you’d think after all that simmering tension an explosive bout of sex on a piano would diminish it right? Wrong, it just cranks it higher.
Okay, so I don’t risk spilling it all I’ll stick to why Tempted by Trouble blew my mind, made me giggle, and run off for a couple of cold showers. Michelle has this beautiful flowing voice that drags you into the story and holds you hostage. The simmering sensual tension inherent through every story of hers I’ve read has my heart hammering in my chest each time. The deep emotional connection she creates between Marco and Pippa not only in the present time, but how she shows it winding through both their lives since they first met eighteen years before is simply beautiful and extremely addictive.
I’d highly recommend this book to all readers and lovers of romance worldwide. It’s the perfect escape from the gloomy winter. Be warned though, you may need tissues!
Since I like to do these things a little differently, I got Marco & Pippa in to interview the author. After dragging her kicking and screaming some persuasion, Michelle agreed to answer their questions. Let’s just say Marco & Pippa were not as thrilled with their story initially as I was.
Right guys, you have Michelle’s undivided attention. What do you want to ask her?
Marco: Perhaps you could begin by explaining why you hate us. Is an author not supposed to love her characters? Using my mother to emotionally blackmail me was an underhand move. I have to say I expected more from you.
Pippa: That question has been playing on my mind also. You have given me a horrendous past and I’ve had to deal with so much, now you’re carting me off on a plane to his home.
Marco: I cannot imagine how horrendous it must have been being born into a family who could afford to give you everything your heart desired.
Michelle: Oh you poor things. Of course I don’t hate you. I adore you. Even when you’re whining.
Now Marco, your mother may have emotionally blackmailed you, but it was for a good cause, and by the end of the book you will see that.
Pippa, I’m sorry your past is so traumatic and if I could do anything to change it, I would… oops, too late!
Marco: I suppose you cannot hate me completely, you have made me very successful and my Caribbean home is exactly where I would have chosen eventually.
Pippa: I do not think putting us together for the purpose of a romance novel is an intelligent thing to do.
Marco: At last, something we can agree on.
Michelle: Pippa, it’s not a very ‘intelligent’ thing to do, to whine at your creator, is it? Did you not know the pen is mightier than the sword? Do you not realise I could write a follow-up book and ‘accidentally’ give you a nasty dose of food poisoning? Or make you carry triplets and, when they’re born, deny you any sleep for eighteen years? Think on.
Now Marco has the right way of thinking – yes, I have been good to you. So stop your whining.
Aimee: Now I’m all for castrating the characters, but this has even me shaking in my Jimmy Choos.
Marco: The second these two weeks are up, she’s going straight on a flight back to England.
Pippa: I was merely sent here to recover after the attack. I can leave and heal elsewhere.
Marco: I am sure causing a man grievous bodily harm requires a great deal of healing.
Pippa: You really don’t care about my injuries do you?
Marco: If I believed that you had been…
Michelle (cutting in impatiently): Oh for heaven’s sake, you two are worse than my children. I put you in one of the most beautiful locations in the whole wide world, and all you do is moan. I give up!
Marco & Pippa have no further comments.
Nor do I. Yes, she puts these two through the ringer, but they both come out on top. This is one of those stories that will stay with me forever, and if you fancy getting your hands on it, sadly you will have to wait until tomorrow. The bright side? You can pre-order now!

SpongeBob Squarepants - perfect love scene soundtrack!

I have a very special guest on my blog today talking about one of my favourite subjects, music! Take it away, Harlie Williams.
Music to listen to when writing…is it that necessary?
I’m one of those writers that have to write in complete silence.  It confuses me.  I get into the song and then I have to sing it and dance around.  I have no playlist that is my go-to when writing.  No smexy music to get me in the mood when it comes to writing the sex scenes.  In fact, when I was writing my sex scenes for The Couple, I had SpongeBob Squarepants on in the background, courtesy of my son.  I hate SpongeBob to this day.  LOL!

So why the post about music?  When I need to clear my head, I listen to 80’s hair bands.  If you saw my CD collection, you would think that I was a rock club or stripper bar DJ from way back when.  I had friends that were in bands when I was in my 20’s and some of them even made it from the regional clubs.  During my wild 20’s, I met Zak Wylde from Ozzy’s band, Dangerous Toys (a regional band from Austin, TX), Gary Cherone from Extreme, Peter Frampton and hung out with the guys from Pantera at a club called The Basement whenever they were in town.  Yes, I will write about my times then but NOT until my parents and in-laws have passed.  My younger brother and I have a pact.

After a really bad day, I turned on the Sirius radio and tuned up the Hair Bands channel.  Lita Ford’s sexy song “Hungry” came on and I started to sing.  After I listened to it, I downloaded the video to my YouTube channel and then read the lyrics.  All of a sudden the light bulb came on and this song was the prefect song for my story.

Lita Ford “Hungry”

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A148rQbZ0uk&feature=BFa&list=FL4GHHlBqWYor5GZMEaZdbIQ

Now, I know that there are some people that don’t like rock music and trust me, what I listened to ‘back in the day’ wouldn’t fly now.  I miss the days when songs were about partying, sex, drinking and generally have a great time.  I HATE Nirvana for killing music.  *sigh* I digress.

What makes this song so perfect is that it’s honest, raw and sexy.  Plus, come on…its Lita Ford.  J  When I started going through the hardcore critique of my story a couple of more songs popped in my head and wouldn’t leave.  For some reason, Rick Springfield’s song “Souls” kept ringing in my ears.  I know, Rick Springfield.  Hey, I still like him, so sue me.  Again, did the same thing with “Souls”, downloaded the video (horrible) but then read the lyrics and BAM…another song for my story.

Rick Springfield “Souls”

Of course, this song was cleaned up for our virgin…cough, cough…ears then.  Listen now and it’s sexy as hell.  I will leave you with one more song that I sing every day.  It makes me happy and face it…it’s great rock and roll.  Crue dude! And keep rocking with Dokken…

Dokken “You Just Got Lucky”

And here's a look at Harlie's latest release, The Couple.

The Couple by Harlie Williams

A woman has one thing on her mind tonight…sex. Dirty, sweaty, kinky sex with a cowboy. With her man gone more than he is at home, she needs the release. After being away for two weeks, a cowboy goes looking for someone to play with for the night. Being away is part of the job but not having someone to come home to is hurting his soul. Feeling disconnected in his love life, the red head will be perfect.Once they meet, can one night of pure passion led to more than just a one night stand for either of them? Communication is the key to every relationship. Can these two find a way to connect emotionally or are they destined for heartache.

Excerpt“What’s a girl like you doing at a bar like this?” he asked.
Her voice was a purr, like a cat well satisfied with its stolen pitcher of cream. “I’m looking for someone special.”
Hoping that she meant him he asked, “Did you find him yet?”
“Maybe.” The glint in her eye told him he was definitely in the running.  However, I’m not looking to hook up with just any old cowboy.  He must be able to go the full eight seconds and come back for more.”  She eyed him from head to toe.  “Think you can handle that?”
Oh, I can most definitely handle you sweetheart. Not wanting to seem too eager he replied, “I’m not sure but I’m willing to try.”
“Do or do not.  There is no try.”  He struggled not to let his grin escape.  The fact that she was trying to seduce him made his dick twitch.
“Let’s just say I’m looking to burn off some pent up frustration. A little excess energy.  And I’ve got plenty to burn.”
The way she shivered at his words, he knew he almost had her.  He winked as she licked her crimson lips and blew out a small breath.  Damn what this woman is doing to him
He pushed her knees apart with his left leg and was rewarded with the amazing scent of her arousal.  The knowledge she was wet for him had him close to going off in his jeans.  Houston, we have lift-off!
“Why don’t you have a seat cowboy and we’ll talk about it.”
She gasped when he shocked her with a brush of his lips against hers; fighting with everything he had not to deepen the kiss.
Patience, patience.
He would play her game for the moment but sooner or later, she would be his.  Tied up and begging for more.
He asked her, “Now about that eight second ride?”

Crossfire of Love on sale now!

I absolutely adore Ella Jade's stories and this month Crossfire of love is on sale! Read on to find out more about this fabulous story.Crossfire of Love’s Anniversary Tour Can an arranged marriage lead to love?
Recent college graduate Gabriella has finally married the man of her dreams, the older, charismatic attorney Lorenzo Martinez. She's had a crush on him for as long as she can remember and always imagined they'd one day find their happily ever after. Unfortunately, they enter into a union arranged by their fathers.

Lorenzo is charming, protective, and loyal to his crime lord father Carlo. When Carlo asks Lorenzo to marry Gabriella he jumps at the opportunity. He's been drawn to her for many years and knows by marrying her he's helping to protect her father.
Gabby is resentful and won't be Lorenzo's charity case. But sparks fly and the couple soon gives into their desire, realizing they were meant to be together. What happens when Carlo's enemies threaten their future? Will someone get caught in the crossfire?
Content Warning: graphic sex, some violence
Excerpt:Lorenzo walked up the porch steps, turning to stare at her. "Are you coming, Gabriella?" No one but Lorenzo and his father called her by her full name. She liked when Lorenzo said it. He'd always made it sound so formal and sexy.
These were the first words he had spoken to her since they left the courthouse. They were married in the chambers of the prestigious Judge John Cartwright. He'd been a family friend of the Martinezes for many years. He was their go-to man whenever they needed something done fast and legally. Well, legal in her new father-in-law's eyes anyway.
She hurried up the steps and followed Lorenzo inside their new home. It was built within a matter of months after she'd agreed to marry him. Carlo wanted them to have their privacy, but he also wanted to keep them close. He didn't trust she'd hold up her end of the bargain, and keeping her on the property was the best way to ensure she wouldn't run.
It was silly, really. How could she run from a family like this? They had ties all over the world. There wasn't any place she could escape to that they wouldn't know about. She was a woman of her word. She said she would marry Lorenzo and she did. She'd find a way to cope. She always had.
Lorenzo pulled his jacket off, poured himself a scotch, and then loosened his tie. "Would you like a drink?"
"No, thank you," she said.
Most brides would be dancing the night away and drinking champagne by this point in their wedding night. She didn't think that was part of Lorenzo's plan.
"I didn't think you'd go through with it." He sipped the amber colored liquid as he looked her over.
"I said I would."
"I know, but when push actually came to shove, I thought you'd run."
"You don't know me that well," she said. "I don't run."
"Good." He smirked as he put the glass to his lips.
Gabby couldn't take her eyes away from those lips. She'd never had the pleasure of having them on her own. Judge Cartwright hadn't asked him to kiss his bride. She hated herself for thinking about him that way.
"You could've stopped this. Why didn't you?" she asked.
As they stood in front of the judge, she kept hoping he'd put an end to the charade and stop the wedding. It didn't make sense to her why he had agreed to marry her. She didn't have a choice. Her father's gambling debts made sure of that. But she didn't understand why he'd allowed things to get as far as they had.
"I was just as trapped as you were." He downed the rest of his scotch.
She didn't believe that. She knew he respected his dad, but she didn't get why he wouldn't have put his foot down and said no to such a life-altering decision.
"You could've told your father no from the beginning. Why would you agree to marry someone if you didn't have to?"
"Look." He shook his head. "It's done now. We're going to have to make the best of it."
"Make the best of it?" She plopped down on the leather sofa. "I'm twenty-two years old. I just graduated from college, and you want me to make the best of it?"
"I know this isn't what you might have wanted, but it is what it is. You agreed, and now it's done. You can't go back on it now. My father won't forgive that."

The Naked Truth

The Naked Truth by Lacey Wolfe

It’s amazing what one can find in strip clubs…

Josh Carter gets the shock of a lifetime when he shows up at a place of ill repute for a business meeting and sees the one that got away gyrating on the stage. Abigail Reese—the girl with so much potential, the girl that took his heart along with his body one night long ago—what brought her to this level?

Though stripping is not what Abigail set out to do, it’s putting food on the table and a roof over her daughter’s head. But just how much can she reveal to Josh without risking it all?

When Josh causes Abigail to lose her job, she has two choices: come clean about her past and her situation or push him out of her life as quick as he came into it. It’s up to her…only she has to think of her little girl too.

Excerpt:
Abigail removed the yellow gloves and went in search of water to curve her thirst. Whenever she was stressed out, she cleaned. As she sipped the water, pride filled her that her place sparkled and smelled of lemon and bleach. Now to get herself clean.

Setting the bottle down on the counter, she began to lift her shirt up over her head.

Knock knock.

Abigail pulled the edge of her tank top back down. She glanced at the clock and thought it was early for the mail man to be here, but he might’ve been ahead of schedule today. Then again, she wasn’t expecting a package at the moment, so it probably wasn’t the mailman. She stood on her tiptoes and peeked through the peep hole. Josh. What was he doing here?

Opening the door, she said, “Hailey’s at school.”

He held an envelope in his hand. He couldn’t possible have the DNA test results already. Then again, he had money, so anything was possible. “I’m here to see you. Can I come in?”

Abigail stepped back out of the way and let him enter.

“It smells good.” He glanced around.

“I was cleaning. I was just about to wash up before you showed up unexpected.”

He grinned. “I thought we could open this together.”

She eyed the white rectangle in his hand. “That’s for you. Not me. I know you’re the father. You were the last man I was with.”

“Before you found out you were pregnant?”

She laughed. “No, as in you’re the last man I’ve ever had sex with.”

“You don’t mean…”

“Oh, yeah, I mean it. I’m a single mother. I don’t have time to date.” He was quiet and she found it amusing. She could only imagine the thoughts running through his head. “Open it up.”

He set the envelope on the table next to him and closed the space between them. “It was five years ago that you and I were intimate. And in all this time, you’ve never gone to bed with another man?”

“You’re still on that?” Men.

His hand wrapped around her neck and he pulled her face to his. “Do you have any idea what it does to me to know I was the last one to touch you?”

She shook her head. “What does it mean to you?”

“How about I show you? Can I?”

She gazed at his lips and licked hers. Before she knew what was happening, she nodded and his mouth crushed against hers. He stole her breath when his tongue swooped in and met hers. She reached out and grabbed his shoulders, bringing her body closer to his.

Her body burst with pleasure, the same way she felt years ago. His arms wrapped around her and lifted her. Her legs intertwined with his waist. Josh spun her around, setting her on the same table the envelope was on.

He ended the kiss, but only to begin a trail on her cheek, to her chin, neck, and collarbone. “Oh God,” she murmured.

She arched into him as his tongue licked the top of her cleavage. Her core ached to be touched. She wanted this man badly. Instinct kicked in and she reached out, yanked a handful of his dress shirt, and smashed her lips to his. Her fingers began working his buttons. Once a few were undone, she slipped her hand inside his shirt and across his firm chest.

“You’re amazing,” he whispered before his thumb flicked over her nipple.

Abigail gasped and then went back to working on his shirt. Just as she reached the last button, she looked up at him and saw the passion in his eyes. But then she wondered what she was doing. Should she be doing this with him? She barely knew the man and for all she knew, when he returned home, she may hear from him again. She couldn’t risk it.

She pushed him away and hopped off the table.

“What’s wrong?” he asked.

“We can’t do this.”

He came up behind her. “We don’t have to do anything you don’t want to.”

Oh, she wanted to. And her soaking wet panties were all the confirmation she needed. But her heart couldn’t handle it.

“I think you should go.”

“What about the results?”

Abigail turned back toward him. “Like I said before, those are for you. I don’t need to see them.” She left the room for the shower she had originally set out for earlier.

#SexySnippets - The Monster of Fame

Since release day is closing in on the sequel, I’m posting a sexy bit from The Monster of Fame.

Instead of pulling back, he cupped the nape of her neck with his hand and deepened the kiss.
Annabelle’s mouth opened and he could taste her sweet breath on his tongue. She melted against him as she snaked her hands around his neck. Every part of his body that touched hers burned, and for the first time in six years, he was harder than granite.
He pulled his lips from hers and feathered her jaw with kisses. She gasped when he reached her neck, igniting his desire to an inferno. “Annabelle,” he groaned against the skin at her collarbone, and she shivered all over.
