Win A Copy of "Girls Who Wear Pink"

I know I haven't blogged in a while (grad school had me BUSY BUSY BUSY those last 3 weeks, go figure...) but I figured I'd announce that I'm hosting a giveaway of my self-published YA Romance novel Girls Who Wear Pink on Goodreads.

I try not to have too much self-promo on this blog but since it's the holidays, why not try to win something free?

Grad School Weekly Wrap Up: Week 7 & 8

Well one week turned into two VERY quickly as the end of the semester lurks just around the corner. How has it already been 8 weeks?

Anyway, I'll just give a little summary of how things are going in each class since I don't really have too much time to go into incredible depth at the moment (school work is HAPPENING...)

Editorial Management

Week eight of Editorial Management consisted of our proofreading test so there isn't much to share other than my horrendous mistake of adding full stops beh...

Weekly Grad School Wrap-Up Week 6

Happy Halloween and Happy Halfway Though the Semester Point! That's right, I'm 1/4 of the way through my graduate school program and this week it got real. Really real.
There isn't much of a wrap up of class time this week since my classes were mostly reviews, tests, and wrap-ups this week. (Plus, I kind of wrote the world's longest post about marketing earlier this week so it's safe to say, there's enough information on the blog at this moment to hold all three readers off for a week.)
H...

Everything You Need To Know To (Hopefully) Pass Your Marketing Test for Publishing Postgraduates

Okay. The title might be lying. It might not be everything you need to know to pass your marketing test but it is a pretty good list of everything I need to know to pass my marketing test. Which is tomorrow. So of course, I'm writing a blog. What is my life? Sigh.

On that note, let's get cracking. We've got a lot of stuff to learn! Seriously, this blog is going to be so long. I tried to organize it in a logical order but... I'm getting tired so it could be a hot mess. Sorry, not sor...

Weekly Grad School Wrap-Up: Week 5

I can't believe that this coming week marks the halfway point in the semester! This semester truly is flying by and I'm not sure if I feel like I'm behind or if I'm doing all right. Grad school is the most surreal, whirlwind experience I think I'll ever have and I'm a bit disappointed that it's only a year long in the UK.

Anyway, onto your week 5 wrap-up!

1. Editorial Management Lesson Week 5:

This week we discussed Editorial Issues that could come up as we venture into the industry so I'l...

OPuS Event: Self-Publishing: Just Vanity Publishing Under a New Name?

On Thursday, I stuck around campus for a few hours to attend my first Oxford Publishing Society event which was held at Oxford Brookes University. Despite the long and tiring week, I was excited to see what the six speakers at this event had to say about Self-Publishing and was actually pleasantly surprised at the positive attitude most of the speakers had toward this blossoming industry and its effect on publishers.

Dr. Alison Baverstock, author of The Naked Author, started the event I f...

Lunchtime Publishing Seminar with Micheal Bhaskar

After a whirlwind day, I wanted to be sure to sit down and write a quick summary of today's Lunchtime Publishing Seminar at Oxford Brookes University. I've been looking forward to seeing Micheal Bhaskar speak since I first looked him up at the beginning of the semester after viewing our list of guest speakers and he certainly did not disappoint.

I had actually volunteered to greet him when he arrived on campus with another classmate and was giddy with excitement. I mean, this guy is awesome an...
