They paved paradise
My town, Victoria, is building a new bridge that besides being over budget and more than two years behind schedule seems hellbent on killing every tree that once graced the entrance-way to the span. It started gradually as one by one the small groves were unceremoniously stripped of their branches and hacked down. The new bridge is billed as an improvement to downtown but any improvement must involve increasing green space and foliage and not taking it away. As our city embraces the "green philosophy" the hypocrisy is stark. They paved paradise and put up a parking lot and and all the while they call it improvement. I call it a darned shame.

Super Scary Super Tuesday Results
It has often been said that truth is stranger than fiction. What happened in last night's Super Tuesday voting shows us that very clearly. And here I was thinking that the plot line of my books (The Urizen Series) was too far fetched!
Who thought a year ago that Donald Trump would still be a serious candidate at this point let alone leading the Republican Party's delegate count? For whatever reason, the US Presidential race has been morphed into a bizzare kind of reality-based TV contest - not a serious political process to determine who's best suited to run the most powerful nation in the world.
The world barely survived eight years of George W. but can it survive four years of Donald Trump? It's not a game - it's serious business - but America and its voters appear to have forgotten all about that.
