Speaking in Tongues in the Bible and Real Life (Glossolalia, Xenolalia, Xenoglossia)

speaking in tongues meaning

“Now about the gifts of the Spirit, brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be uninformed.” (I Corinthians 12:1)

Despite the Apostle Paul writing a whole chapter on the gift of tongues (I Corinthians 14), the amount of controversy and confusion this gift generates is incredible!

From what we know about speaking in tongues in the bible and experiences of others and myself, I’d like to share how this gift is a fantastic blessing and how it can transform your spirituality and...

The Whole Landscape – Jared Anderson [EP Review]

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-html40/loose...

You’d know Jared Anderson as a worship leader and songwriter at New Life Church. Or, as a former founding member of Desperation Band. And, if you’re connected to the universe of contemporary worship songs, pretty sure you’ve enjoyed “Great I Am,” “Amazed”, and “Rescue” among his other songs. So, it’s not like he needs an introduction.

Recently, Anderson signed up with Franklin, Tennessee’s Rixon Entertainment Group for management representation. This EP, ‘The Whole Landscape’ is his first pr...

Stir a Passion – Worship Central [Review]

As a big fan of Worship Central especially after their previous release ‘Set Apart’ (fantastic album, that one!), it was a pleasure to review their newest project ‘Stir a Passion’. Like ‘Set Apart’, this is also a live album. In case you’re not aware, Worship Central is a UK-based worship ministry collective fronted by Tim Hughes and Luke Hellebronth.

‘Stir a Passion’ is a 11-track worship album, recorded at “The Gathering” conference and produced by Willie Weeks (Passion, Matt Redman) and Ji...

79 Holy Spirit Songs for Pentecost Worship

What is Pentecost?

Pentecost marks the fulfillment of the promise of the risen Christ in Acts 1:8. Pentecost is the birthday of the Church. It’s the day when the Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples. Pentecost is the Greek name for ‘Shavuot’, the harvest festival of the Israelites, which was going on when the Holy Spirit kick-started the church!

The word “Pentecost” is actually a transliteration of the Greek word pentekostos, which means “fifty.” It refers to the Christian expression “pen...

How to Improve Your Vocal Harmonization Skills

When singing with someone else or in groups, harmonization is most of the fun. The successful execution of a perfect or unique harmony doesn’t just sound good to the listener, it feels good for the singers. While harmony is technically a complement to the melody of a song, many would argue it is just as important. Being able to harmonize changes the way you listen to music and the way in which one appreciates music and other harmonies.

Learning to harmonize may seem like a daunting task at fi...

God of the Impossible – Lincoln Brewster [Review + Giveaway]

‘God of the Impossible’ is Lincoln Brewster’s brand new worship album releasing globally on 4th May although a pre-sale is on now. This is definitely a project I’ve been waiting for with excitement simply because of Lincoln’s previous release—’Oxygen’, which pretty much blew me away!

This record is loaded with 15 tracks—11 new songs, 1 new instrumental and acoustic versions of 3 of the new songs.

In the words of Brewster himself, this album is a reminder that “God is always working behind the...

How to Learn Chord Progressions—the Easy Way

There is a common theme amongst people who enjoy playing musical instruments or singing— at a certain point in their musical development, they come across “chord progressions” as if it’s some kind of roadblock or, “oh boy, I have no clue what chord to play now” type of attitude.

In my experience as a music teacher, I have discussed with many students that these perceived roadblocks are only present because a couple of foundational pieces to the puzzle are missing. Once we put those pieces tog...
