Carmel Harrington is an International bestseller of thirteen novels. She is from Co. Wexford, where she lives with her husband, Roger, children Amelia and Nate, and their beloved rescue dog, George Bailey.

Her latest novel, The Stolen Child, was a Sunday Times best crime fiction of the year selection and was described as ‘Endlessly surprising. This complex novel requires faultless plotting, and Harrington pulls it off with consummate ease.’ Carmel’s debut was a multi-award-winning novel, and several books have been shortlisted for an Irish Book Award. She is a regular on Irish TV screens and radio and has been a guest speaker at Literary events in Ireland, UK and USA. She was also Chair of the Wexford Literary Festival for three years.

Hello, delighted to hear you are planning to read soon. I hope you enjoy the family as they boldly go!
The idea for The Things I Should Have Told You, came from a couple of areas. As a child, we loved caravan holidays and enjoyed a fabulous weekend away once in a campervan. So that inspired the Campervan aspect of the story. I travelled a lot in my 20's and early 30's. And I learnt a lot during these travels, in particular that the world is both a big and small place. That kindness is found in the most remote of areas. Travel changes you. I wanted to explore how travel might change a fractured family, who were not the best versions of themselves. Would seeing the world through new eyes, change how they saw themselves and each other?
As for a break, no, I'm afraid not! I wrote Every Time a Bell Rings, in between The Life You Left and this one. And I've already written book 5 - called 72 Derry Lane! Have a lovely weekend and let me know what you think of the story! Carmel x(less)
