Happy Release Day!! My Steps Are Ordered

Yay! I'm so excited! My third book with Urban Books is released today! Please help spread the word.

About the BookWhat happens when your husband finds out you're in love with his brother?
Team Keith? Team Michael? How about Team God?       Gina Ward has it all: a husband, a child, and all the finer things life have to offer. She doesn't see herself as one of the less fortunate who needs God. But, what happens when her only son, Trey, falls ill? Will she rely on the only one who holds the world in His hands?
Keith Ward is a respected minister, but he cannot shake his inappropriate feelings for his brother's wife. When his nephew falls ill, Keith knows he has to drop everything to be by her side. Will he finally find healing for his broken heart?       Michael Ward is living the dream life, but life as he knows it changes drastically when his son falls ill. Everything he thought to be truth will be brought into question. What will he do when he realizes he is living one big lie?
Excerpt.It couldn’t be.
No. It was impossible.
Immobilized, Pastor Keith Ward felt suspended in time. His breath caught. His yellow tie, sprinkled with tiny red polka dots, threatened to choke the life out of him.
The voices of the choir faded in the distant echo. All around him people praised and rejoiced while Keith felt the scales around his heart chip away.
Time stood still.
No wonder she’d been on his mind. Even on his way to the podium, Keith had had to repeat scriptures to temper the need that filled his being. His psyche must have known something. Leaning forward, Keith squinted to focus into the distance. That’s her all right. She was here.
Gina Ward.
His brother’s wife.
And, the mother of Keith’s child. Yes, he was a father.
Keith’s heart slammed into his chest. Its beating sounded like thunder booming to his ears. Gripping the handles, Keith eased his body out of the chair, intent on pursuing the woman who twisted his insides and stole his heart.
He had to go to her.
As he stood, Keith felt a moment of disorientation; belatedly realizing the crowd was standing and cheering. It seemed as if they were giving him a standing ovation. Flabbergasted, Keith watched Gina leave. All of his thoughts about his sermon left the forefront of his mind.
He turned his head to see his assistant, Natalie Henderson, or as he called her, “The Hawk,” gesturing towards the podium. She mouthed the words, “Go. Go,” with frantic hands.
Keith gritted his teeth, clenched his fists and closed his eyes. Lord, help me. Help me.
The crowd shouted praises, presuming he was hearing something from God. Summoning every ounce of self-control he possessed, Keith stepped up to the podium. He opened his Bible, worn from use—but he’d refused to get a new one. This one had sentimental value. Then, with authority and anointing, he addressed his parishioners waiting on a word from God.The Second Installment of the "On the Right Path" series promises to keep you turning the pages until the stunning end. Michelle lives near Dallas with her husband, their two teenage children, and one crazy dog.About The Book michellestimpson_noweaponformed_1400px LaShondra and her Boaz, Stelson, are living the ideal American lifestyle, except for the subtle and not-so-subtle ways society keeps reminding them that they aren’t the norm. She’s African-American, he’s Caucasian, and their oldest child is already tackling the question of identity. It’s bad enough when outsiders show their ignorance or disdain. But when the issues come from family, LaShondra finds herself wondering if Stelson can truly comprehend the challenges looming on the horizon. When a church picnic leads to a head-on clash between LaShondra’s fears and Stelson’s optimism, the truth prevails. But that’s just the beginning.
LaShondra learns that the drama during the family outing was only a set-up for an even more rigorous spiritual battle to save her family. After turning her back to the pressures at work and yielding to Stelson’s leadership, LaShondra finds herself interceding for a husband she hardly even recognizes anymore. Is this the beginning of the end for the couple that truly endeavored to honor God’s ways, or will this season fortify their marriage for His glory?
ExcerptHwuuuuu. Sheeeee. Hwuuuuu. Sheeee.“Stelson. Turn over on your stomach.” I shoved my husband’s shoulder, attempting to wake him.No response.Hwuuuuu. Sheeeee. Hwuuuuu. Sheeee.“Stelson. Roll over.” A little louder, a little stronger push this time. The television illuminated his glare at me, displaying the kind of anger that only a Church of God in Christ usher gives a member chewing gum in the sanctuary. “What?”I demanded, “Roll over. You’re snoring.”“No, I’m not.”“Yes, you are.”“I’m not even sleep,” he protested.“You think I woke you up so I could lie to you?”He crumpled up his face, flipped onto his stomach with a grumble and turned his head away.  I didn’t care about him getting upset. He wasn’t the one who had to rise at 5:00 a.m. so he could work out, get himself dressed, and then get a 6 month old and a 4 year old up, fed, dressed and at the daycare before 7:15 a.m.—all the while hoping to make it to work by 7:45 a.m.  To be fair, Stelson would have helped with the kids if I’d asked him. But why should I have to ask? Shouldn’t it be instinctive to think, “Wow, my wife is really busting her behind with the kids. Since I have a morning off, I should use it to help her.”?Apparently this is not common sense.Within seconds, my husband was at it again. Only this time it wasn’t so much the sound as the annoying vibration of the rattle in his throat and nose. How have wives slept through snoring husbands for centuries?

About The Author alretha_thomas224_rt_lr  Shortly after graduating from USC with a degree in journalism, Alretha soon realized her interest in her major was not heartfelt. Instead of writing news stories, she wanted to write plays and books. Several years later, her church gave her an outlet to fulfill her writing desires through their Liturgical Fine Arts Department wherein Alretha penned twelve theatre pieces—the community response was overwhelming. This led to plays outside of the church, including Alretha’s “One, Woman Two Lives,” starring Kellita Smith (The Bernie Mac Show), directed by four-time NAACP Image Award Best Director recipient, Denise Dowse. The production garnered rave reviews from critics and audiences. In between plays, Alretha’s first novel, “Daughter Denied,” was launched in 2008 and in 2011, Alretha launched “Dancing Her Dreams Away.” Her third novel, “Married in the Nick of Nine,” spawned a four-book series that has been acquired by Soul Mate Publishing. “Married in the Nick of Nine,” the first book in the series was released July 2, 2014.Social Links:Email: Alrethat@aol.com Website: http://www.Alrethathomas.com Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/alretha.thomas Twitter handle: https://twitter.com/AlrethaThomasTrai... http://youtu.be/QlwbJFRXGL8Buy Links:Amazon ebook: http://amzn.to/1r4jOiG Amazon paperback: http://amzn.to/1qFadj1

Everyday Uplifting You

About The AuthorBestselling Author | SpeakerVal Newton Knowles was born in the beautiful island of Nassau, in the Bahamas. She is passionate about helping people. Val's current Bestseller, "Everyday Uplifting you," is now available. Val started writing daily nuggets to encourage an aunt who had been going through some challenges, the book was such a blessing, that she decided to make it available as an encouragement for others. Val seeks to uplift, motivate and encourage others to be the best they can and never allow failure to cause them to give up.Val first released No Shame Only Power, author Valderine Newton-Knowles offers practical steps to help you walk in the power of God, showing that from the beginning, you were born to win. The Apostle Paul spoke often of the power of God, and he spoke because of his personal experiences. Now it’s time to take your personal experiences and begin a daily diet on the word of God. It is the only thing that has the power to strengthen your spirit and accomplish that which seems impossible.

Val, tell us about your book?My book has recently become an Amazon Bestseller in two Categories first Christian Living & Devotionals and second Best Seller in Worship & Devotions. “Everyday Uplifting You: Daily Encouragement for Your Soul 365 Days of Any Year” is filled with daily nuggets to jumpstart your day. The nuggets are short but very powerful.
How did you come up with idea for this book?I was actually writing another book when this book came about. I have at least 17 aunts, who are all very dear to me, but as in most families there are some who stand out for different reasons, maybe they are the strong one, or the one who always has the ability to get things done. For me there are 3 aunts that have always been strong Christians who played a huge role in my life. One of them went on to be with the Lord. One of my aunts went through a series of challenges; she had several strokes, her husband went home to be with the Lord and she fell in the yard requiring emergency surgery. I’ve seen her sad, I’ve seen her cry, but on this particular visit, I saw her broken and it tore at me and I wanted to do something, anything to help her understand how much she was loved and valued. It was right there in her bedroom that I got the idea to write motivational quotes for everyday and it was there, that the design started to fall into place.
What was the most difficult aspect of writing this book? With this particular book I honestly can’t say there was a difficult part with this writing. It was a labor of love for me.
Why do you write?I have a genuine love for people. Writing helps me to send that love out to the masses. In my writing, I hope that readers will see and feel the genuine love and care that I seek to express. I use the avenue of writing to express what is in my heart to be a blessing to people all over the world. If I can help to inspire, uplift and motivate others with this gift that He has given me while pointing them to Christ then that is a blessing for me.What valuable lessons do you want readers to learn from your book?
We can all use encouraging words sometimes and we are never alone even if it seems like it. A lot of the daily motivation is this book is designed to help us keep going.  It’s written in a way that the reader will know that I am right there walking with them through each day. But most importantly, our heavenly Father is also there each step of the way with us, hence you will see the phrase, Together we can and we will.”
Who are your favorite authors?Sheldon Newton – Yes he’s my brother, but a great writer and one who lives what he teaches. Dr. Myles Munroe,  Dr. Creflo Dollar, Jim Rohn, Vincent Norman Peele, John C. Maxwell (I have many favorites)
What book(s) are you reading now?“The Holy Spirit, your financial advisor” by Dr. Dollar and “Winning with people,” by John C Maxwell.
What books have most influenced your life?I have to say it was and is the Bible. It continues to be the biggest influence in my life.
If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?I consider my brother, Bishop Sheldon Newton a mentor, and also Dr. Creflo Dollar.
Any advice to give to aspiring writers? If you are confident this is what you are called to do, never quit! Keep writing; keep getting the message out there. Join writing groups who can help you along the way.

10 things you didn't know about Best-Selling Author Michelle Stimpson

Here are some interesting facts the prolific author shared about herself. Michelle Stimpson
1.     I have food texture issues. Mushy things like pudding, yoga, and flan—I just can’t do it!
2.     My kids are 20 months apart in age. I was so sleep-deprived, I don’t even remember their early years. I wish we’d had cell phones when they were younger so I could have taken more pictures and videos because it’s all a big blur to me at this point.
3.     I was an English major, but a math minor. It’s weird, but despite the fact that I’m an artist, I have a sincere appreciation for numbers and facts.
4.     I was Chuck E. Cheese. Yes, I wore that suit and I sang the birthday song and led the song dozens of times!
5.     I’m a closet Seinfeld fan.
6.     My great-grandfather (D.L. Smith) was a bishop in the Church of God in Christ. But what I remember most about him was that he always gave us money (silver dollars) when we saw him.
7.     I wear bifocals now.
8.     I’ve always been embarrassed by my skinny legs. As I get older, I’m getting better about this, but it’s still weird to see how little my ankles and calves are.
9.     I’ve written more than 50 short stories for teens, intended for classroom use. Check me out at www.WeGottaRead.com.
10.  I haven’t seen many of the classic movies and my husband won’t let me live it down: Lady Sings the Blues, Love Jones, Gone with the Wind. I plan to soon, though!
