Sit Down Saturday
So over on my author blog I've started doing interviews with this nifty idea of Sit Down Saturday.
This past Saturday I had Mindy Larson stop over for a chat.
Check out her Q&A with me!

What a month!
I've had one hell of a month. My romantic horror was picked up by Rebel Ink Press and NOW...well yesterday...I received my SECOND contract offer!!! Not for the same book. My historical romance snagged the attention of Soul Mate Publishing.
Talk about excited!!! I've spent the past 5 years in rejection misery. 5 YEARS! Now...well now I have contracts coming out the ears! Okay just my two. But it's two more than I had last month.
So thrilled!

MY BIG REVEAL!!!
I've been quiet lately. Not a lot of posting or participating, but it has all been for a good reason!
My NA romantic horror (ZOMBIES!!!) has been picked up by a publisher!!!
http://hlwampler.wordpress.com/2013/0... <--That's my big blog reveal!
So an awesome small, independent publisher, Rebel Ink Press, is taking a chance with me!
They publish romance related novels that run the gamut from sweet all the way to sizzling. I'm now adding gore.

In search of...
A BETA!!!
I need a beta reader like nobodies business.
I've been working on this YA fantasy for about two years now. (I took a few months off to work on other things...)
It's been through two rounds of edits, rewriting, rereading, and now I'm at the point that I need a beta.
Anyone feel like betaing?
Here's a bit about the book...if you are interested please feel free to leave a comment or contact me directly!
She was born a goddess, but raised as a mortal.
16-year old Mia Grey is as far from normal as any girl can be, and she does not know it yet. Mia’s life begins to change in ways she never dreamed when her migraines begin to transport her to another time and place. She eventually comes to realize that nothing is ever what it seems, and her life has been nothing but lies. Mia is informed that she is the only hope for all humankind. Not even the great Greek Gods can stop the coming doom.
Leaving behind everything, she heads to Greece for what she thought was a family vacation. Meeting the gorgeous twins Adrian and Adronis was more than luck. It was planned. What was not planned was Mia and Adrian falling in love.
Time is short. The world is crumbling around her. Mia must save humanity and her budding relationship, or lose everyone and everything she loves.

My first request
I participated in pitmad on Twitter for a "secret" project I've been working on. I've mentioned it once or twice here or there.
But I decided to throw it out there in pitmad and it caught the attention of one of Entangled Publishing's editors.
Within 4 days of receiving my query and sample pages...I received that email we all hope for. That "send me a full!"
It is the furthest I have gotten in the traditional publishing world. I am thrilled. I am excited. I am nervous. I am anxious. I have about 5 more weeks before I should hear anything about getting an offer...or a sorry, but no.
I'm not sure what to think. I'm terrified really. What if they say no? Or...what if they say yes????

Favorite of the year!
I was browsing my book on Google today.
Yes…I do that on occasion, and I got quite the shock.
There is a blog out there called Read Our Lips! Book Reviews. One of the reviewers, Angie, reviewed my book earlier this year. Well, of the books she has reviewed she picked MINE as her favorite OF THE YEAR!
I am beyond honored that someone enjoyed Red’s Hood so much that it was their favorite. I have been in a writing slump, again, and this just really meant a lot. Seriously. I’m just amazed, shocked, surprised, thrilled, happy, and I feel accomplished as an author. Someone loves my book.
I want to say thank you to everyone at Read Our Lips! for even reviewing my book and a super huge thanks to Angie for giving this author a very satisfied feeling inside. All warm and fuzzy.

Finally in print!
I'm so excited, The Last Grimm: Red's Hood is available in print! It's another big step for me. When I first published I honestly didn't even think about putting out print books. Then I read about Createspace, and how easy it is to use.
It really is. I had a few starting out issues, but I got the hang of it and 4 days later my book is now available as a paperback for $10 on Createspace now, 5-7 business days for Amazon, and the ereader version is available on Amazon and Smashwords for $4.99.
So exciting.

Interview with Connor Guy
How did everyone enjoy the interview with Abigail yesterday?
Today, I’ll be interviewing the delicious Connor Guy.
A little background on Mr. Guy. He is the heroine of The Last Grimm series leading man. The have an amazing on paper chemistry, and I can see why. The man is gorgeous.
Me: Connor, how are you?
Connor: I’m great, and you?
Me: Fine, fine. You are the huntsman from Little Red Riding Hood?
C: Yes.
Me: And your dad was before him? How did your family get into that business?
C: It all started centuries before I was born, around the time Abs ancestors, Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, created my world. The wolf killed my great-great-great-great grandmother. Since that day the men in my family have been huntsman, sworn to riding the world of the wolf and his descendants, as well as the great queen.
Me: Such tragedy behind such an amazing love story.
C: I wouldn’t call it a love story.
Me: So you and Abigail aren’t a thing?
C: I didn’t say that. Abs and I did end up developing into a love story, but it didn’t start that way. It is about a girl gaining confidence in herself to do the impossible, and for her to learn to trust people. Which she is still working on.
Me: Okay. So, lets focus on you and Abigail for a minute. At the beginning she was attracted to you, but after the big incident at the beginning, she wanted nothing to do with you.
C: Yeah, she’s a snarky, stubborn woman.
Me: What did you do to win her over?
C: I was persistent, and probably as stubborn as she is.
Me: How does she handle all the women throwing themselves at you?
C: I never see anyone throwing themselves at me. Sure they flirt, but that’s how you women are. Right?
Me: No, Connor, that’s not how we all are.
C: Oh, well, I guess she takes it rather well then.
Me: Did you ever expect to fall in love with Abigail?
C: Nope.
Me: Now, the big battle at the end, she really turned around, and turned into a beast. Did you think she had it in her?
C: Honestly? No, I didn’t think she’d be able to defeat the silver wolf on her own. I thought for sure she would need help, but she didn’t have much choice.
I’m really proud of her.
Me: How is it dealing with her mom?
C: It’s interesting. Her mom is so shut down to the rest of the world that I’m surprised Abigail isn’t more of a basket case.
Me: So, the end of the book, that was a twist. Are you excited for the next one?
C: Yeah, we were all surprised by that one. Snow is promising to be even more exciting than Red’s Hood.
Me: Do you plan on staying for all the books?
C: As long as I’m not killed off, that’s the plan.
Me: Killed off? Is there something you know we don’t?
C: I know just as much as you do. I hope I’m not killed off. That would be kind of a bummer.
Me: Well, I know you’re busy, so one last question. Is there wedding bells in the future?
C: (laughs loudly) I don’t know yet. Abs and I haven’t been together that long. We’re working on getting to really know each other, and see how well we do living together first. But you never know. But for now, you can read about our budding love in The Last Grimm: Red’s Hood on Amazon or Smashwords for ereaders. It is coming out in print soon right?
Me: Yeah, it should be available in print edition by next week at the latest. I hope.
C: You hope?
Me: As long as the proof is good to go, print will be available.
C: Well, make sure it’s good to go!
Me: Alright, Connor! Sheesh.

Interview with Abigail Grimm
I have treat for everyone today, I interviewed the lead in The Last Grimm: Red's Hood. (Yes's she's a fake character.)
Me: So, Abigail what is it like being the MC in Red's Hood?
Abigail: Well, Heather, it is exciting. I'm never really sure what's going to happen next. It's a ton of fun. I love everyone I work with, okay almost everyone. There are a few who I won't be sad to see go.
Me: Oh, do tell?
A: (laughs lightly) I can't do that! That would spoil the story for everyone who hasn't read it!
Me: Okay, were you surprised to be picked as the lead?
A: Sort of. I heard the author was going for someone who was taller, and a bit more brash than I was, but I guess there was something about me she liked.
Me: How do you feel about the love interest?
A: (Her face looked like a tomato) Connor? Well, he's something else. His personality is a lot like it's written. He's very confident, and caring. I couldn't have asked for a better co-star.
Me: Just confident and caring?
A: Okay, so he's incredibly gorgeous. It doesn't hurt that he's good-looking.
Me: What is it like going to college, and saving the world?
A: It's hard. I did not see myself doing this at 18. Not at all.
Me: Now, this is a Little Red Riding Hood story, what exactly is your role?
A: I am Abigail Grimm, the last in a long line of fairy tale guardians. At the beginning of the story I have no clue about it. After a few incidents happen, I find out about everything. Not only am I the last, but I have this crazy special ability that helps me save the day.
Me: A crazy, special ability?
A: Yes, I can speak characters into and out of fairy tales.
Me: Is it just Grimm fairy tales?
A: I honestly have no idea. I never tried with any other stories.
Me: Do you plan on it?
A: I don't know. (she laughs loudly)
Me: What do you plan to do now that Red's Hood has been released?
A: Well, we're working on the next book in the series now, Snow. And there will be at least 1, if not 2, more after that. So, I'll be busy with The Last Grimm series for some time.
Me: What has it been like?
A: Amazing. I've never done anything like this before, and I just love it. I will admit that my special scene was, different. VERY different. I was embarrassed about it at first, but I've heard nothing but good things about it. The big battle scene was super scary. I had never done anything like that. I didn't think I had it in me.
Me: I have read it, and you were amazing. The chemistry that you and Connor share is...hot. Is there chemistry off the pages?
A: Well...you know.
Me: While reading the book, I couldn't help but notice the tense relationship between you and your mother, what is that all about?
A: Well, mom is a bit of an emotional basket case. You'll find out in the story about what happened when she was pregnant with me, but that kind of set her off on this spiral of depression which has lasted forever. But don't worry, she does come around in her own mom way.
Me: So the end, wow. What did you think of that?
A: It was a shocker. One none of us was expecting. I still can't believe that H. L. did such a twist. It's going to make Snow interesting for sure.
Me: I know you're busy, so one more question, are you happy to be Abigail Grimm?
A: Thrilled, and I can't wait till Snow is out for everyone to read! Keep an eye out for it after the start of the new year!
