As part of McKenzie's birthday blitz, I got the chance to interview the charming and lovely Drew Wise.
Interview with Drew Wise from The Truth in Lies by Jeanne McDonald
Firstly, I’d like to thank you for taking time out to speak to me today, Drew.
The pleasure is all mine. Who am I do deny the audience of such a beautiful lady?
You must be a very busy man in your line of work?
For the most part I stay pretty busy. I’m on a bit of a winning streak right now, so that definitely keeps me busy.
What do you to relax when you’re not working?
I play with my toys and I jerk off. I’m kidding. Or am I?
Most nights I spend my free time reading. I actually like to read a lot. Books are a great way to lose time and simply relax. I’m also stay very active. I like to run and when the weather and snowbirds permit, I enjoy riding my motorcycle.
Now don’t tell anyone this, but I have a little secret hobby. I collect Star Wars memorabilia. When I’m not working, reading, or whatever the hell I do, you can find me glue to my computer or phone monitoring eBay. It’s addicting, and I find some rare gems on there.
After reading The Truth in Lies, I could sense that you hide behind your macho/cocky ego. Am I right, and if so, why do you do it?
Me, macho? Cocky? I have no idea where you might come up with such allegations.
All joking aside, you’re right. It’s easier for me to hide be a smart ass than to own up to how I really feel about things. I have a bad habit of keeping people at arms length. I tend to close myself off to others. At least until I’m certain I can trust you.
I live in a world of cheating, lying, and deception. Not only in my professional life, but I’ve had to endure it in my personal life as well. I learned the hard way that if given the chance, people will crush you. All it takes is giving your heart to the wrong person. That kind of power can and will destroy.
And believe me when I say, it’s extremely hard to recover from that.
Can I add that I find a guy who has cats incredibly sexy? (I have a fur baby myself. I love her to pieces.) What do you love about cats? Is it your working hours that made you choose them over a dog?
Oh really? You find a guy owning a cat sexy? Well, I find a woman owning a cat incredibly sexy.
I love cats because they are independent, fiercely loyal, and intelligent. Oh, wait. I’m all those things to.
Cats are not needy. They have a special sense of when I’m down and need to cuddle. Yes, I’m a guy who likes cuddling. And really, what guy doesn’t like having a pussy around all the time?
Cats don’t drool all over the floors, or potty all over them for that fact. They don’t bark because someone farted. Cats are simply better than dogs.
Now, I want to move onto a more sensitive subject, McKenzie. Is that okay with you?
Oh, Mickie. Sweet, sexy Mickie. Of course. Fire away.
Was it difficult fighting your feelings for her while you were dating her best friend?
It was very difficult.
That first morning on the beach was like magic. I’d never seen anything so beautiful and yet so lost in all my life. It was as if lightning struck me in the chest. I’d never felt anything like that before; not even with...yeah, forget I said anything.
Anyway, I wanted to turn around and go back to her. The urge to ask for her name was almost overwhelming, but something inside held me back. Of course, I discovered what it was later that night when I was reacquainted with her at Olivia’s condo. Fate was drawing me to her. I so hope I don’t lose my man card for believing in fate.
Olivia and I were only dating casually. I was with her only to appease my brother who seemed to think I’d traded the bottle for sex. Who was I to argue? But from the beginning, I knew Olivia wasn’t the one for me. I only stayed with her because it allowed me to get closer to Mickie. Mickie needed a friend, and I wanted to be whatever she needed.
Was it an instant attraction? It felt that way to me.
It certainly was on my part. A man would have to be senile not to see how beautiful she is. I’m not only talking about outer beauty, which she’s definitely that. But McKenzie has a presence about her. She enters a room and time seems to stand still for all who come in contact with her. She’s smart, funny and loyal. She gets my sense of humor, and no one ever gets my twisted sense of humor. With McKenzie, I feel like a whole person again. That’s something I haven’t felt in a long, long time.
How did it make you feel, knowing that she never took the necklace off that you bought her for her birthday? (Stunning necklace by the way. Great choice.)
Thank you. I must say I do have great taste.
As for her always wearing the necklace, I’d say it made me feel like a million bucks. It showed me that she felt something for me’ that I wasn’t the only one struggling with my feelings.
Where do you see the two of you now? It isn’t going to be easy for either of you. Do you think McKenzie will be able to keep her distance? Can you?
That’s really a hard question to answer. Or set of questions, really. Right now, I see us in a difficult position. She left so abruptly, that I really didn’t have a chance to...well, it doesn’t matter. What matters is the fact that I won’t give up on her. Deep down I have faith that we will find a way to be with each other.
As for keeping her distance, she might try, but I’m persistent. Even if she could keep her distance, I sure as hell won’t. So it’s really a moot point. I won’t stop until I win my girl back. Even if it means going to Texas. We were meant to be together and we will be.
If you could choose any future right now, what would it be and why?
Olivia wouldn’t be pregnant. Mickie and I would be happy and free to be together. I would finally know peace. But, that’s all a pipe dream. Peace and happiness never seem to be in the cards for me.
Lastly, can you give us an update on the second book in the Truth in Lies Series, The Certainty of Deception, I’ve been told it’s in your point of view too?
I can tell you it’s coming along. Jeanne pesters the fuck out of me. Whatever possed me to agree to allowing this book be in my point of view; well, let’s just say I should be shot for it. Jeanne is a huge overthinker, and no matter what I say, she will second guess herself every time.
I will tell you that things are a little different this go around. There are skeletons in the past that Jeanne seems to think should be revealed. Since I’m her guinea pig, I have no other choice but to comply. On the plus side, you’ll get a good laugh as I try to get my girl back with the support of my brother and a very unlikely person. There are several new faces that will make an appearance in The Certainty of Deception, and some beloved people returning.
Thanks for stopping by Drew, can I call you Andy next time you’re dropping by? ;)
The pleasure has been all mine. And while you’re a very beautiful woman, Ms. Bee, that name is reserved for my stunning woman.
Until next time. Hopefully, I’ll have Mickie with me.
And finally, Jeanne has given me an exclusive teaser from The Certainty of Deception!I can not wait for this book!!

THE 2014 OUR WRITING PROCESS BLOG HOP
Thanks so much to Jami Denise for inviting me to join this blog hop. Make sure you check out her latest book See Jane Play. It's amazing!
You can check out her blog here:- http://jamidenise.weebly.com/
1) What am I working on?
I'm currently working on Hunger, book 2 in The Seductors Series.
This is the continuation of Jade and Oliver's story.
In Desire, book 1 will learnt that Jade works for a secret organisation called The Seductors. She gains her steals through seduction and sex.
Jade is hired to steal some important blue prints from Oliver for her client. She didn't plan on falling for him, though. He makes her feel things she never thought could be possible.
The last pages of Desire are left in a way that could be seen as the end or a cliffhanger.
Hunger is about Jade trying to protect her heart when she is suddenly thrown back into Oliver's world. It would seem her mission is far from over. (That's all the teaser you're getting. Hunger is due for release June 6th 2014. I'm keeping the rest under wraps for now. Sorry.)
2) How does my work differ from others of its genre?
I write erotica that has a plot. I don't write sex for the sake of sex, it forms part of the story. It helps to understand my characters more, and I've been told I write steamy yet classy sex, so I think I'm getting my message across.
3) Why do I write what I do?
I've always wanted to write from a young age. I started off writing pure romance, and I still do that under a different pen name. I love the freedom I have with B.L.Wilde. I can write whatever I want, and explore situations you can't get in other genres.
4) How does my writing process work?
It's pretty chaotic, I don't think my process has ever been the same for any book I've written. Once I've got the story worked out in my head (Sometimes this can take months, if I have more than one story that I'm working on.) I go to google docs. I share all my words with my editor, Jo Mathews, first. We talk out plots, and she guides me as I write. Often letting me ramble on about where I think I'll take the story, but I never actually go in that direction.
I've been known to reach 6 drafts of a manuscript, but I always know when the story is ready. I just keep going until it feels right
Once the book is complete, we start the editing process. I have two pre readers who give me feedback.
If I feel another rewrite is needed, I do that before doing the final read thru. Then we get it ready for publishing.
Wow, I make it sound so organized. It's anything but that. LOL.
I wouldn't change being an author for the world, though.

Author Interview Spotlight with M. B. Feeney
Author Interview Spotlight with M. B. Feeney
Welcome Mich! 1) What is the most encouraging thing anyone has ever told you about your writing? When Honour was released, I got reviews telling me people had to put the book down due to ugly crying. This always makes me feel good because the stories are supposed to evoke emotion due to the subject matter. If I can elicit that kind of reaction, then I must be doing something right.2) Do you have a specific writing style? Not really. Well, I don’t think I do, but I have been told (and this is a HUGE compliment considering who said it) that my writing is very lyrical. And that I have a knack for putting just the right words in the right places. I simply get an idea and write it down. Yes, it’s edited, but my editor is very conscious of not losing my “voice” which I appreciate, even if I don’t truly know what my “voice” is.
3) Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp? I never consciously put a message into my writing, I merely want people to enjoy the tale I have to tell. Whether they get more than that out of it, that’s wonderful, but it’s not an aim of mine.4) What books have most influenced your life most? Uhm… I think every book I read 9which is a lot) leaves its mark on me, regardless of whether I enjoy it or not. I’m a big believer that all authors should be readers. Reading increases vocabulary and grammatical knowledge. It’s also a great way of keeping on top of trends, even if you branch out into those trends or not.5) If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor? I don’t think I have a mentor in particular. I admire so many authors, both ‘big name’ such as JK Rowling or indies such as LJ Harris (a DEAR friend). I try not to emulate anyone as I like to be my own person.6) What book are you reading now? I am currently reading Wallbanger by Alice Clayton. I LOVED the fanfic and am loving the published version. It’s definitely a keeper and a re-read!7)Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest? I discover new authors all the time. I’m a netgalley member and I am constantly discovering new genres and authors. I also download a lot of free kindle books. I will read anything by anyone as long as it has a well written story with realistic and believable characters8)Can you share a little of your current work with us? Sure. A short teaser:
James grinned at his best friend as he tucked his phone back into his pocket feeling pleased with himself, his brown eyes flashing.
“An hour, tops. Let’s sort this shit out.” He and Carl huddled over the laptop and began researching British stately homes.
“Dude! Can you seriously afford this?” Carl asked as he looked, amazed, at the astronomical prices on the screen.
“Yeah, I reckon have about twenty grand budgeted and my parents have offered another ten if I need it.” Carl stared at his friend, astounded at his flippancy about money.
“You have that kind of money, yet you still dress like a hobo?” He indicated James’s ripped jeans and stretched t shirt which fit in with the dirty blond hair buzzed close to his head. The perks of being his own boss as a mechanic were many, but his favourite was not having to wear a suit everyday.
“I like to save up for special occasions, and what’s more special than me marrying Jessie?” James smiled, excited by the idea even more. Marrying the woman he loved was the next logical step in their lives, and he couldn’t wait for her to become Mrs Graham.
“Wouldn’t it be even more special if she was involved with the wedding, or even . . . you know, knew about it?” Carl was still skeptical about the whole thing.9)Do you have any advice for other writers? Keep writing. Also, an editor is KEY! Yes, it may be expensive, but that is money well spent. Be proud of what you have written and give the readers a book that is the best it can be. There’s nothing worse than seeing a review for a book that say the grammar or spellings in a book are bad and make the book unreadable.10) Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers? A huge Thank You! I may not have a wide circle of readers, but I appreciate each and every one. The feedback I have gotten from them is amazing and they make me want to keep going.11) While you were writing, did you ever feel as if you were one of the characters? I do. I think any author that doesn’t feel as if they are their main character is a fibber. We pour so much of ourselves into our writing that, even if it isn’t autobiographical, we are our main character. With a twist.12) I want to know what your journey has been as a writer. Were you that girl who was always with a book and constantly writing story ideas down like me? I was, and still am, a bookworm. I freely admit it. I was the kid in the corner of the playground with my nose stuck in a ook, oblivious to what was going on around me. Even when I was surrounded by my circle of friends. It was just accepted. ‘Oh look, she’s reading again!’ My friends never shut me out, they just chatted around me. As for writing, yeah. It was just a part of me, like having blue eyes and blonde hair. My friends always read my shorts and cooed, but hey, they’re friends, they were supposed to be bias!13) Does any particular moment stand out as that moment when you considered yourself a "real" writer? I’ve always been a writer, but the day I received a physical copy of my first book was surreal. I don’t really consider myself a ‘real’ author, but I have to be careful who hears me or I’ll get a slap to the back of the head and a stern talking to.14) What advice would you give to an aspiring author? As above. Keep writing. Write what you as a reader would want to read, and above all. Get an editor. That is the most important piece of advice I can give anyone!

Desire is here!!
Desire (The Seductors Series Vol. 1) By B.L. Wilde

Cover Design by Jo MatthewsGenre: EroticaScheduled Release: December 6, 2013

Summary:
Jade has worked as a Seductor in a secret organization for five years now. Her main job? To earn the trust of her targets and secure the object or information her company was hired to steal—by any means necessary. She’s damn good at it, too. With five years left on her contract, she is handed an assignment that turns her world upside down.
Oliver Kirkham is the attractive, young CEO of Kirkham Industries, a weapons manufacturing company, and is currently in possession of some very important blueprints—blueprints that could change the way war, as we know it, works. He’s extremely focused and doesn’t have time to date, at least until he comes to the rescue of a shy but very alluring Jade Gibbs.
What happens when one night of passion turns into more? Will Jade allow her feelings for Oliver to get in the way of her mission? Or will she do what she was hired to do and secure the steal?

Excerpt:
Oliver wined and dined me with style. The conversation followed effortlessly, and a few hours later we were back in the bar having a nightcap.
“I really can’t thank you enough for dinner, Oliver.”
“It was my pleasure, Jade. I’ve enjoyed your companionship immensely tonight.”
“Do you really own your own company?”
“Why do you ask that?” he chuckled into his coffee.
“You’re so young and…fun. I thought CEOs were supposed to be bald with beer bellies, and be too stressed out to even crack a smile.”
“Are those the kind of CEOs you have as your clients?”
“Yes,” I laughed.
“These interior art skills of yours—how much do they cost?”
“Are you interested in utilizing my skills, Oliver?”
“I’m very interested, Miss Gibbs.” Oliver’s look became almost predatory.
“Maybe we should take this conversation elsewhere, then?” I suggested, looking around the bar.
“Where did you have in mind?” he asked, moving a little closer, his hand lightly skimming my leg.
“I was thinking of retiring for the night. It’s getting quite late,” I breathed, stretching out to play with his tie.
“Alone?”
“Actually, I was kind of hoping for some company,” I whispered timidly, pushing off my stool and slowly walking toward the lobby area. Counting to five, I turned to see Oliver walking toward me, looking dark and dangerously handsome. I was actually looking forward to seeing if this guy was any good in bed.
I pushed the button for the elevator and leaned against the wall just as he caught up with me.
“I hope I’m reading these signs correctly,” he grinned just as the elevator doors opened. With a small grin, I stepped in and pulled him with me. Oliver crashed his lips against mine right as the doors closed behind us.
Kissing was second nature to me. I could fake desire, even if it felt like I was kissing a wet fish, but as Oliver lifted me by my ass and pinned me against the elevator wall, I groaned in actual pleasure. I didn’t have to fake it. Desire flooded through my veins as I ran my hands into his dark hair.
“Christ, you’re beautiful,” he groaned, his lips moving down my neck while his hands began to fumble for the hem of my dress. I was about to start dry humping the guy if he kept on like he was.
“Ugh…” I groaned as his hands worked their way under my dress and he gripped my ass cheeks roughly. “Oliver…ugh…which floor?” He leaned toward the elevator buttons with me still wrapped around him, and pressed a button before quickly returning to attacking my neck.
“I saw you the moment I walked into the bar tonight,” he purred, his hands running slowly down my chest. Both my legs were wrapped around his waist. “And I wanted you.”
“Ugh…I…I’m flattered,” I said, forcing a blush. The elevator opened and Oliver finally let me go. As I slid down his body, I could feel his muscles through his shirt. Mm…it really was going to be a fun few months.
“I want you to know I don’t usually do this sort of thing,” I muttered, playing with the zipper on my purse while he opened his bedroom door.
“Neither do I.” He shook his head as if to clear it from a random thought, and somehow, I didn’t believe him. He was too smooth and confident to have never picked a girl up in a bar before.
“Wow, your room is so much bigger than mine!” I acted awestruck, gazing around as I placed my bag on a table. “Is this just the living area?” I gasped, turning to see that he was suddenly right in front of me. He responded by crashing his lips against mine while backing me against the wall.
“I don’t want to make small talk anymore. I just want to fuck you, Jade,” he growled into my ear. Holy crap! I was so turned on; I could feel the wetness between my legs begin to flow. His hands came back up underneath my dress, but rather than grab my ass like he had in the elevator, he simply pulled my panties down. “Do you want me to fuck you?”
“YES!” It was a plea, because in that moment, I’d never wanted anything more. I heard his belt buckle and the sound of foil before he was suddenly slamming me hard against the wall. Fuck, I’d dreamed of being taken this way, but never once had I thought it would happen. Who was this guy?
“I’m going to make you cum harder than you’ve ever cum before,” he smoldered into my ear. His fingers slowly teased my entrance and I arched my back, needing more. “I can feel how much you want this. I know your kind—shy and withdrawn. Let me free you. Let me release the desire I know is inside you.” Oh, this guy had no idea just how much desire was inside me. I wrapped my legs tightly around his waist, drawing him toward me before I bit down on his neck.
“Fuck, yes,” Oliver growled, and with one deep thrust he was inside me.
I’d never been fucked this hard before. I was wanton. I needed everything the guy could give me as he slammed into me over and over again while I was pinned against the wall. “You feel so good,” he panted between thrusts.
“Fuck me harder!” I was totally breaking character, but I’d never had a man bring me to orgasm without my help before, and right now, I needed that moment more than the air I breathed.
“Harder? You better brace yourself then.” Oliver gripped my legs and rotated his hips before pushing deeper and faster inside me.
Before I could make sense of what was happening, I felt myself begin to build—the feeling becoming warmer and more intense with each of his movements. This guy was going to make me cum. Jade Phillips—top Seductor—was finally going to cum by the power of a man!
“Give it to me, Jade. Don’t you fucking dare deny yourself!” Oliver could feel my orgasm begin to take control, so he slid his fingers between us, circling my clit to help ease my release out.
When I did explode, it was earth shattering.
“Ugh…fuck…fuck…fuck,” I groaned, my entire body trembling.
Oliver continued to pound into me until he found his own release. “Fuck, yes, Jade…ugh…ugh…I knew you’d make me cum this hard!” Oh my God! He looked so hot when he climaxed.
I was still pinned against the wall, held up by his arms as we regulated our breathing.
“You see?” Oliver finally spoke. “I knew there was a wild girl in there somewhere.”

Author Interview with Carrie Elks
Author Interview with Carrie Elks
Today, I have the pleasure of welcoming the lovely and talented Carrie Elks as my spotlight author.
Welcome Carrie Elks!
1)Where are you from?
I was born near Bristol, England. I’ve lived all over the UK, including Liverpool, Nottingham and Essex. I’ve also lived abroad--most notably in Geneva, Switzerland, and Washington DC, USA. I’m a bit of a nomad, really.
2)Tell us your latest news?
I’m about 3/4 through a new full-length novel that I’m dying to publish. I love the characters and the premise of the story. The hero and heroine meet in a very interesting way and have a huge hurdle to get over. I can’t wait to finish it and polish it up.
3)When and why did you begin writing?
I wrote a lot as a child. I’d read a book and continue writing about the characters when it finished. My favourites were the Sweet Valley High series(!) and The Lord of the Rings. I’m an eclectic reader.
4)When did you first consider yourself a writer?
I’m not sure if I do yet!
5)What inspired you to write your first book?
I’m a huge lover of dark stories. I really enjoyed reading Captive in the Dark, and Consequences, and initially started off to write something along those lines. However, the characters wouldn’t have it, and the story took a different track, which I was just as happy with. I like when stories surprise me as I write them.
6)How do you conceive your plot ideas?
It’s a cliché, but I’m always thinking “what if …” “What if a girl was hiding away in a bar in West Virginia and a stranger walked in …” “What if a girl fell in love with an older guy and he disappeared completely …” The stories tend to grow naturally around these little hooks.
7)What books have influenced your life most?
As a child I loved fantasy stories. The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings were my favourites. As an adult, I read avidly and enjoy such a wide range of books. Some of my favourite authors in the romance genre include Ruthie Knox and Cara McKenna. Their writing is impeccable.
8)If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?
I have to choose Evelyn Baldwin, the author of Vacant. She edited Halfway Hidden and taught me so much about character development and writing. I owe her a lot.
9)What book are you reading now?
The Edge of Always by J.A. Redmerski. It’s the follow-up to the Edge of Never, which I read last Christmas. I’m enjoying it very much.
10)Are there any new authors that have grabbed your interest?
Amber L. Johnson is going to be huge. Her book Where We Fell was absolutely beautiful. There’s also this cute chick called B.L. Wilde …
11)What are your current projects?
I’m juggling way too many stories, as always. As I said before, I’m finishing off the first draft of a manuscript. I’m also in the first stages of editing another. I am also plotting the second part of my Hidden Series.
12)Do you see writing as a career?
Not yet. I write a lot--probably around 10,000 to 15,000 per week, but still see it as a hobby.
13)If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?
I’m not sure that I would. I learned a lot from that book. I had a great editor who really whipped me into shape. She had me questioning everything, and I wouldn’t give up that learning process for the world.
14)Do you recall how your interest in writing originated?
It comes from my love of reading. Which I inherited from my mother. She taught me to read at the age of three, and I haven’t looked back since.
15)Who designed the covers?
The hugely talented Mayhem Cover Creations. I want to write all the books just to get her to make another one.
16)What was the hardest part of writing your book?
The editing. It’s always the editing. It makes writing look easy in comparison.
17)Do you have any advice for aspiring writers?
Don’t give up. Some things will work, others won’t, but it is always a learning process.
18)Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?Thank you. I wouldn’t be writing without you.
19)What advice would you give to someone who "runs out of creativity" when writing?
I hate that feeling. I think it comes to us all at one point or another. I keep writing through it, no matter how rubbish my stuff looks. I know I can go back to edit later. The important thing is to get the words on the page and the story told.
20)Did you ever think you'd ever become an author?
I didn’t think, but I definitely dreamed!
Don't forget to check out Carrie's latest book!!
SUMMARY:When fear mixes with desire, who can you trust?
Rachel Stone is stuck, contemplating that very question. Spending her time as a bartender in an isolated West Virginia town, she hides behind dark hair and an assumed name. She exists from day to day, trying not to let her past overwhelm her.
When a tall stranger walks into the bar at closing time, her attempts at hiding turn to dust. Muscled and intense, he is attractive enough for Rachel to ignore her instincts and listen to her baser desires. As a storm brews in the skies of West Virginia, confusion builds in Rachel’s mind. What begins as flirtation explodes into a darker, more primal passion, leading her to question everything she thought she knew.
While snow blankets the outside world, they are forced to remain inside, confronting their demons and the sizzling attraction between them. Submitting to their urges is easy; learning who to trust is anything but.

Desire (The Seductors Series Vol. 1)by B.L. Wilde

Genre: Erotica
Scheduled Release: December 6, 2013
