This is very exciting. Hope you enjoy the book. If you do, please consider posting a review on Amazon or Goodreads. If you don’t please let me know. Thank you for your continuing support of Sgt. Windflower Mysteries.
A weekend visit to picturesque Newfoundland by a large crew of outlaw bikers leaves behind another mess for Sgt. Windflower to clean up. This time he’s facing violence, murder, mystery and intrigue. This adventure has Windflower questioning everything he thought he knew. There are troubles on the home front, cutbacks in the policing budget, old friends leaving and new ones not quite here yet. Windflower is seeking to find answers in territory that is both dangerous and unfamiliar.
This instalment in the Sgt. Windflower Mystery series has our hero dashing all over the beautiful little island of Newfoundland. Along the way he never wavers in his pursuit of justice. But he stills tries to find a way to enjoy the natural beauty that lays all around him, and to bring out the best from everybody he meets.
A Long Ways from Home is about more than just homicides or the dirty dealings of outlaw bikers. It is also about helping people and communities face up to and overcome new and very difficult challenges. Windflower relies on his friends and allies, including some four-legged ones, to help him and them find the answers. He also discovers that we are never really alone, even when we are a long ways from home.

Coming Soon: A Long Ways from Home

The new Sgt. Windflower Mystery is on its way. A Long Ways from Home is at the printers and will be released in the next few weeks. Here’s a little taste to whet your appetite.
A Long Ways from Home opens with the discovery of two bodies. Found in a park in Bishop Falls with their hands tied behind their back. Sgt. Windflower is seconded to lead the investigation and heads out to Central Newfoundland. There he finds a snake pit of outlaw bikers who have taken over the town.
Join Windflower as he uncovers the truth and rediscovers part of him that he thought were lost forever. The whole Windflower gang is back. Sheila, of course, along with Tizzard and Quigley and Herb Stoodley. Lady is back too, and she plays an important part in the story. So too do a whole new gang of good guys, and some very, very bad ones as well.
Plus, it wouldn’t be Windflower without some great meals. Like an arctic char curry and maybe even a piece or two of peanut butter chocolate cheesecake. If you would like a piece, you’ll have to read A Long Ways from Home.
Stay tuned and thank you for your on-going support of Sgt. Windflower Mysteries. Follow me and Windflower on Facebook and Twitter and feel free to share with your family and friends.

New Windflower Book Coming But………………..
Dear Friends
The good news is that I am putting the finishing touches on the latest book in the Sgt. Windflower Mystery Series. I’m just working with my fab beta readers to do a final touch up. And I have a new publisher for the series. Friesen Press from Victoria, British Columbia will be publishing the next book in the series and they are already working on putting it together. The not so good news is that this will delay the publication of A Long Ways from Home. Given the time it will take, this will likely mean a late Summer/Fall publication date, but that is yet to be confirmed.
Thank you for your patience and on-going support of my work and of the Windflower series. It has been a great journey so far and I am so pleased that you have been with me. To thank you and to keep Windflower alive while I am not so patiently going waiting for the publication process to evolve, I am going to do 2 things. One is I am going to start another Windflower book. The ideas are bubbling up so I am getting back to work. Hopefully, that can mean another book release early in the new year.
The second thing involves you. I am thinking about releasing one chapter of A Long Ways from Home every couple of weeks until the book gets published. I will do this through my blog and on the Sgt. Windflower Facebook page. I would also send it directly by e-mail to anyone who wanted it as well. My question for you is this. Do you think this is a good idea and would you like me to do this? I do not want to interfere with anyone’s pleasure in reading the full book and will try and limit the release of information that would give too much away. But my thinking is that this is a way for everybody who loves Windflower to stay in touch, while we’re waiting.
Drop me a line at mike54martin@yahoo.ca
Tell me what you think. Also, for anyone who’s new here or hasn’t read any of the Windflower mysteries, let me know and I’ll send you a Kindle version of the first book, The Walker on the Cape.
