Blurb:
It should have been a simple rescue mission…Retired Pararescueman, Quinn Wolff, wrote the book on how to stay alive during a mission when he founded Wolff Securities, an elite private sector security firm. When he fast-ropes down to save missing humanitarian aid worker, Avery Marks, in the remote mountains of Azbakastan he isn’t prepared for the brave, stubborn woman who challenges the rules he wrote in order to protect her.
But when it comes to matters of the heart nothing is simple…
Avery Marks learned a long time ago to take care of herself, but when her convoy is attacked, her friends and coworkers murdered, she has to rely on the aid of intensely capable and handsome, Quinn Wolff to get her safely out of the country. His skills keep her alive, but his kisses put her in danger. In danger of losing her heart. That’s a risk she can’t take ever again.
Excerpt:Copyright © 2014 Jennifer LoweryThe air in the cave shifted. She went still, tried to slow her breathing. Seconds later Quinn whispered her name.A sob built in her throat but she pushed it down, unwilling to let him see how his return affected her.“Avery?” Concerned. Alert. She tried to answer, but the words stuck in her throat. Seconds later his hand was on her shoulder.“Are you all right?”No. Avery pushed the sleeping bag down and sat up. Her hands found his chest, bulky with vest and equipment, but warm and alive. Needing to feel his heartbeat, she found the hem of his t-shirt and slipped her hands underneath. Hot, taut skin slid beneath her hands as they traveled over rippled abs and upward. His breath caught when she opened her palm over his chest where his heart beat strong and steady.“Avery—”She lifted up and pressed her lips to his, cutting him off. This was what she needed. Not talking. Not questions. To know she was alive, that he was alive, and she wasn’t alone. Reassurance that she was free of her captors. In control. His lips were warm, strong against hers. He hesitated, then he took over and the kiss no longer belonged to her. His lips moved over hersand stole her breath away. All her fears dissipated until there was only Quinn and the incredible way he was kissing her. Her hands dug into hard muscle, urging him closer. In response he tightened his arms around her.He pulled away first. His chest heaved in synchrony with hers. In the darkness she couldn’t see his face to read his expression, but his erratic breathing told her he was as affected by the kiss as she was.“I’m sorry.” She pulled her hand out from beneath his shirt. “I shouldn’t have—I just needed to know—” Quinn’s fingers pressed to her mouth. “Don’t. I get it.”

Liza O'Connor's Troublesome Apprentice

True storyof a woman who lived her life as a man in the Victorian era. I realize for some, it is hard to believe a woman could successfully pretend to be a man in the 19thcentury, but I give you a well-documented case of one woman who became a physician, (making her England’s first woman surgeon and doctor, although no one realized it at the time.)
Standing less than 5’ with a high pierced voice, Mary Ann Bulkly, took the name of a dead relative, James Barry, dressed as a man to enter medical school, and became a physician. She then JOINED THE ARMY, where she remained for 44 years of service. She acquired a black servant who remained with her throughout her long career. Each morning he would lay out six towels in which she would use to disguise her curves and broaden her shoulders.  She had a reputation as a lady’s man, no doubt to disguise the truth. During her time in Africa, she performed, on a kitchen table, the first ever successful caesarianin which both mother and child survived. She rose in the ranks to become the HIGHEST RANKED DOCTOR of the army.
But that doesn’t mean she was liked by all. In fact, she was thrown out of great many islands the army sent her to. She was prone to dressing down anyone who did not snap to her wishes, or God forbid, outright disagree with her. She would have made a terrible woman. Thank God, she chose to be a man where her bad behavior could be overlooked due to her excellence as a doctor.

Eventually she/he was forced to retire from the army. Upon returning to England, Dr. Barry soon after died during an epidemic of cholera. She attempted to hide her gender even upon death, by asking no post mortem be done and to bury her in the clothes she wore. However the charwoman paid to prepare the body, ignored the request and discovered the truth, which the British government kept hidden until recently. The high-minded Victorians would have been most upset to know their finest doctor had been a woman.
Clearly to be a man in the Victorian era, you only needed to 1)    Dress up as a man2)    Be horribly rude and obnoxious when people do not behave as you wish.3)    Be highly skilled in your profession
THEN YOU MUST BE A MAN                     -End of Discussion…actually I have more to share on this topic in the matter, so stay tuned.Right now, let me share a bit about my own Victorian young woman who has decided to live a more interesting life as a man.

The Adventures of Xavier & Vic–Book 1The Troublesome ApprenticeBy Liza O’Connor
The Key to Aunt Maddy’s DeathThe Missing Husband of Mrs. WimpleThe Disappearing Scarlet NunThe Clever Butcher’s WifeThe Rescue of Lady Anne
While investigating the death of a friend and client, Maddy Hamilton, Xavier Thorn (reputed to be the greatest sleuth in England) is greatly impressed with Maddy’s nephew, Victor, and offers him a job as his secretary. Aware of Xavier’s history of firing secretaries, Victor garners a promise that for three months he cannot be fired. Vic then proceeds, in Xavier’s view, to be cheeky and impertinent at every turn. Xavier endures the impudent pup because Victor is most skilled in extracting the truth from clients and intuiting facts with little evidence to assist. As they solve a string of cases, Xavier discovers a few more important details about his troublesome apprentice, such as her true gender, and the realization that she has awakened his long dormant heart.
Vic remained huddled in her closet, consumed with grief beyond anything imaginable. It was one thing to lose her aunt, but for her to die over a pair of shoes was unbearable. She had thought the truth of Aunt Maddy’s death would help her come to terms with the loss, but not this truth. It was a thousand times worse than not knowing.Xavier gently extracted her from the closet and provided a shoulder to cry upon.“It is not your fault, Victor,” Xavier said. “It was simply a cruel chance of fate. I can provide you one comfort. Maddy’s death was not a meaningless sacrifice. Many people would have died, had she not bought those shoes and obtained the key. I know it is hard to discover she died for no other reason than fate, but even in death she changed the world for the better. Mark my words, whatever the key opens is of vital importance. She is a hero who died in service to her country. I am certain she will derive great pleasure in heaven knowing she stopped the sale of government secrets, but only if you can accept the randomness of fate. She cannot enjoy her achievements until you are whole again.”Xavier’s words comforted her a great deal. Still, she made no effort to pull away from his embrace. His arms surrounded her with strength and security. She did not wish to give either up quite yet.
***
Xavier had embraced Victor to give him support but, to his surprise, he found the act provided him comfort as well. He took pleasure in the young man’s head resting on his shoulder and this enjoyment disturbed him.His unsettling self-discovery did not cause him to pull away and abandon his employee. He would hold the boy until he stiffened his spine and showed his magnificent Hamilton courage once more. He would see Victor safely to solid ground before he left. If he had to embrace him for the few remaining hours of darkness, so be it. As for his own pleasure taken from this physical contact…he would evaluate the matter later. Right now, the country had bigger problems. The worst crime lord of London, Seth Sojourn, had turned his clever mind and substantial resources to the sale of state secrets to foreign spies.

No. 1 Time Travel Bestseller in Canada!

I have a very special guest today (SQUEE!).
She's a multi-published (200+ to date) author, a collegiate-level creative writing instructor, and currently has three time-travel books on the bestseller's list on Amazon. (SQUEE!!)
Please give a flaming welcome to Melodie Campbell.

I WANT MY OWN VIKING WARLORD
By Melodie Campbell
It happened when I was writing the third of the Land’s End trilogy, the one that starts with Rowena Through the Wall.  “Bawdy, Lusty and Fun! Total escape” said one reviewer.
So here I was, thinking this may be the last of the adventures for Rowena.  (Maybe.  We’ll see what readers say.)  Love that girl, Rowena.  Want her to have the time of her life.
And so I started thinking…what would be my final fantasy?  If I could choose any ripping, rollicking, fantasy, what would I want it to be?
And more important, who would be the man to share it with?
Keep in mind that I’m a pretty physical girl, myself.  Yes, I love books, but that is for the adventures they give me.  For me, adventure is not shopping in New York on a Saturday.  Nope – I’m more primitive than that.  I love fast cars and horses at a gallop, and travel to distant climes.
Thane, the lover from the first book, is an intellectual hunk.  At first I thought he was the ideal man.  But then when I wrote the second book, Rowena and the Dark Lord, it came to me clearly that Thane was too logical.  He wouldn’t fight if he knew he would lose.
Note to self:  Passion is not about logic.  In my fantasies, I want a man who will put passion before reason.
So this isn’t real life we’re talking about here.  Nope, if I am being honest, in my fantasy, it comes down to biology.
I want the leader.  The man who stands tall and is respected by all other men. I want the man who will not back down when challenged, and will risk all for me.I want a Viking Warlord.

Excerpt – ROWENA AND THE VIKING WARLORD
I awoke to a strange scratching noise.
Dawn light was streaming through the window. I was lying on my back on the bed. A fur throw covered me from mid-hip down.
Lars was sitting, still naked, on the wooden chair with his feet resting on the bed. He had something in his hand.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
He looked up. "I am drawing you." He returned to his task.
Lars, the great Viking warrior, was an artist? It was the last thing I could have imagined.
"I want to savor this moment. Who knows what war will bring and whether I will even survive it," he said.
"Don't speak like that. I can't bear it."
His eyes whipped up. "You have a big heart, Rowena. By rights you should hate me for what I have done this night."
"I don't hate you. I understand you have done this to protect me."
He snorted. "That shows you know nothing of men."
I was bewildered. What did he mean?
"You said that this…night in your bed would mean that I am claimed."
"Indeed it does." His hand worked furiously with the charcoal. "Which is what I want. What I want, Rowena, mark those words. I wanted you. I have for weeks. Do not make me out to be heroic."

Cowboys are heating up the summer!

One lady I met when I first started to write is now a multi-published author with a cowgirl attitude. (Can I get a YEE-HAW??)

Not only does she write of the authentic cowboy and his fading way of life, she also lives the dream!

Please help me welcome D'Ann Lindun and her latest western romance toThe Flames.

Blurb: Afraid to love, Lily Halderman is determined to never feel despair like when she lost her husband to cancer. Left alone to continue their custom farming business, she struggles to stay afloat, both financially and emotionally. Until Will comes along to help with the farm, impressing her with his hard work ethics, and presenting a danger to her heart because he is just the kind of man she could love. Will Wainwright is running from the pain of the past. Feeling responsible for the death of fellow soldier—the woman he loved—Will takes a job working for Lily, hoping the dawn-to-dusk labor will help him forget his sorrow. But, Lily’s grit and determination to move forward catches him off guard.Friendship turns to passion …but can they heal one another?
Excerpt:“Make love to me, Will.”For a moment, she didn’t think he was going to respond. “Are you sure, Lily? Even after what I just told you?” “I’ve never been more certain of anything in my life.” Placing her hands on either side of his head, she bent forward and brushed his lips with hers. “Now make love to me.” “Yes, ma’am.” He pulled her on top of him and circled her waist with his arms, holding her against his big body. He slid his hands down and cupped her behind, sending a shiver rocketing up Lily’s back.Mounting him, she rocked against his erection pressing against the middle seam of her jeans. Wet heat flooded her and she squirmed against his rigid penis. She sat up to allow him take off her top; he threw it aside. She unsnapped the buttons on his western shirt and he shrugged out of it. Goosebumps rose on her skin when he undid the front clasp of her plain white bra. With a gentleness that belied his urgency, Will slid the straps from her shoulders, baring her breasts to his hot gaze. Splaying his hands across her upper back, he tipped her forward and took a beaded nipple in his mouth. Lily moaned and dug her fingers into his chest as he sucked deep. When he changed sides the cool evening air caressed her damp, erect nipple. A wave of unbridled desire washed over her and she pressed her center against the hard length of him again. A moan of dissatisfaction slipped out of her. He took his mouth from her breast. “That’ll work even better without clothes.”Uncertain, she hesitated. Should she undress herself first? Or him? “Let me.” Will reached for the snap of her jeans. She slid off him and onto her back to wriggle out of her snug Levi’s. After Will helped her, he kicked free of his own boots and Wranglers. In the dappled moonlight he was magnificent.Muscled. Masculine. Male.He settled on top of her, but held his weight off with his elbows. She swallowed. “Will, I—”He silenced whatever she planned to say with a kiss. His lips covered hers, prying them open to taste, tease and torment until she gasped. The hair on his chest brushed her erect nipples, making her stomach clench.Holding himself up with one hand, Will pinched her nipples between his fingers until she thought she’d scream. Maybe she did. She wasn’t sure. Will settled his weight between her thighs, the tip of his erection prodding her damp opening. He slid a hand between them, over her clit. She did cry out then. And dug her nails into his shoulders. “I can’t wait.” She arched her hips. “Please.” “Hold on, baby.” He reached for his jeans and withdrew a condom from a pocket. Slipping it over his straining cock, he moved over her again. She lifted her hips and he slid into her in one fluid motion. “Oh, God.” Lily wrapped her fingers around his biceps. “All right?”A little uncomfortable, but she wouldn’t be anywhere else at that moment. “Uh-huh.”He wrapped a hand in her hair and bent her head a little to nip her jaw and neck. Slowly, he moved his hips, until she began to match his pace. The discomfort faded, replaced with pleasure. Little crimps in her lower belly built until she thrust her hips into his, each time a little faster until they met in a frantic heat that led them both to a shattering crescendo in near unison.“You okay?” he asked near her ear, his breathing harsh. How to answer? She’d gone to the moon and back. “Perfect.” He chuckled. “Good.” “Yes, you are.”His chuckle turned to an outright laugh. “Thank you.”

Bio:
Falling in love with romance novels the summer before sixth grade, D’Ann Lindun never thought about writing one until many years later when she took a how-to class at her local college. She was hooked! She began writing and never looked back.
Romance appeals to her because there's just something so satisfying about writing a book guaranteed to have a happy ending. D’Ann’s particular favorites usually feature cowboys and the women who love them. This is probably because she draws inspiration from the area where she lives, Western Colorado, her husband of twenty-nine years and their daughter.
Composites of their small farm, herd of horses, five Australian shepherds, a Queensland heeler, two ducks and cats of every shape and color often show up in her stories!
D’Ann loves to hear from readers! Please contact her at:

It's not the size of the dog in the fight . . .

. . . it’s the size of their balls.
So, I tweaked the old saying a bit. We’ve all heard the original, how it’s the size of the fight in the dog, but not until yesterday did I apply this philosophy to my writing career.
An author friend and I were emailing back and forth. She told me a funny sad story about her dog, Jess, and what trouble she’d gotten into.
Our conversation drifted and I was shocked to hear that 30 pound Jess likes to chase 600 pound wild bears when they go on hikes (which rhymes with Yikes!).
See Jess’s story here:

After laughingwatching the video, it made me wonder how big Jess’s non-existent balls were. I weigh a teeny bit *cough-cough* more than 30 pounds and unless my inner gas tank were filled with straight moonshine, I’d never go after a freaking bear.
The difference between Jess and I:  Confidence

Four years ago as a new author who penned weird original material, I had confidence by the bucketfuls. Nobody ever told me shapeshifting centaurs would be a niche genre.
*** Just like nobody told Jess she was smaller than the bear. ***
Until I discovered gravity in the form of sales rank, confidence was my friend.
I wish I could be more like Jess and chase that damn bear! Go balls out, bark my loudest, and not allow fear to enter the game.
Thank you to Liza O’Conner for allowing me to steal share Jess for this blog. Incidentally, Jess shows up twice in Liza’s book “Saving Casey”. Amazon Link: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00A7KRSOO

Go forth and be bold today, friends.May your balls be huge.

Blurb:Former Navy SEAL, Noah Kincaid, bears the responsibility of fellow counterterrorist operative, Atalanta Devayne’s, imprisonment, torture and retirement. Now the drug lord has resurfaced and set up an elaborate plan to exact his revenge on Attie. Noah and Attie must face challenges to overcome the past and accept their feelings for each other before the danger that tore them apart separates them forever.
Excerpt:Copyright 2014, Jennifer Lowery
Trying to explain was out of the question, he knew she wasn’t in a place where she could listen, so he set the lantern on the ground and stepped back. “Come on, Devayne, take what you need from me.”
“You have nothing I need.”
“Oh, I think I do. Let’s work on your fighting skills before we meet up with Santiago.”
It worked. Attie took off her parka and hung it on a tree limb. Then she lunged. Noah simply allowed her to release her pent up emotions on him, parrying her blows, challenging her and offering what she needed. She flew at and around him with skill and agility that impressed him once again. She jabbed with her fists, kicked and danced as if she were weightless.
The ground below them grew muddy from rain and their boots. Anyone watching would no doubt think them crazy to be out in such weather—Noah would have agreed—but this was important. Attie’s state of mind took precedence over the storm.
Dodging a jab to his kidney, he put his hands together in a time-out gesture as lightning flashed overhead. Attie ignored it and trotted toward him. Deflecting the blow, he said loudly to be heard, “Enough. You’re going to catch pneumonia.”
Again, she ignored him.
Annoyed, he waited for her to turn just like so…and in one swift move spun her into his arms and trapped her arms at her sides, holding her tight against him.
Green ice met his stare and her beauty struck him again. Anger never looked so good on a woman. Raindrops clung to her lashes and slid over the smooth flesh of her cheeks. Her hair clung like a deep flame to her head and shoulders. She looked hostile and aggressive and sexy as hell with her eyes flashing, cheeks flushed and clothes plastered to her lithe body. Her chin jutted out stubbornly.
“I’ll tell you when I’m done,” she snapped, struggling against him.
“You’re done.”
Like a wildcat she fought to be released. She managed to slip an elbow free and slammed it into his ribs. The same as she had the night he rescued her from that cell. She’d landed a good blow to his jaw despite her battered state.
“Ouch,” he growled.
Somehow, she managed to wrap her leg around his. He tried to stop their descent, but the ground beneath them was slippery from where they had churned it up with their boots, and they both went down.
Noah managed to take the brunt of the fall, banging his elbow on a rock when they hit. Attie landed on top of him in a tangle of arms and legs and she was more furious than ever.
“Let me go.”
“Not until we finish this.” He clamped an arm around her waist to still her movements. She collapsed against him, her breath heaving in and out of her lungs. Her forehead dropped down on his shoulder and he tightened his arm around her waist. Slim and delicate against him, her curves fitting into his contours like puzzle pieces.
The air changed around them. Attie’s breath hitched. Like it or not, the chemistry was still there. Years of attraction, years of fighting it, broke him. His control snapped and he lifted his head and captured her mouth in his.

Give and Take at Friday Flames

Welcome to Friday Flames!

My guest has a HOT-off-the-press New Adult romance!
Yeah! Bring it on!!

Please welcome Alisa Anderson and her latest release:
Give & Take.

Blurb:  Young, talented, ambitious. Wild.
Three friends, who struggled for fortune and fame, have finally found themselves thrust into mega-stardom.
What is right if there is no wrong…
For Ty, Lena and Danny, they're about to find out as they cross the boundaries from all things safe to an arena testing love, friendship and loyalty. An arena that's forbidden, taboo…and oh so tempting.
They’re riding hard and fast in a world where sex, money, love and rock & roll are all a game of give & receive, where any wish can be granted if you just ask...
Open, honest and raw, this is a rare glimpse of what happens behind the fortune and the fame, beyond the limelight, past the adulation and acclaim.
Welcome...to the real.

Excerpt
“You know, if I had any sense, which we’ve clearly seen I don’t, I would hang up the phone and pretend none of this ever happened.” She shook her head regretfully. “And yet and still, as we speak, my fingers continue to stroke an absolutely swollen clit.”“Jesus,” Ty muttered, biting back an oath, realizing he was still stroking himself as well. Sweat glistened on his forehead as his hand moved up and down his engorged cock with smooth, practiced strokes. Slow and measured at first, then faster and more rapidly, the feeling so intense he couldn’t help moaning out loud. He rocked his hips, feeling the rise of sperm in his shaft, ready to burst at any moment. He heard a small noise on the phone and knew it was her. Trying to resist giving in.“Come with me, Lena.”“No.” Yet her fingers continued moving, unhurried and restrained as she fought for control.“Your mouth is so warm…so wet. Take it all, baby…suck it. Just like that. I’m spilling pre-come all over my hands, Lena. It’s all for you. I wish you were here to lick it off. Why are you fighting this?”“I’m not listening.” Her breath caught, fingers still continuing to have a mind of their own as they slid in between the walls of her pussy, caressing her clit, sliding over the slick folds of her walls.Traitorous sluts, her fingers. Every blasted one of the little monsters.Couldn’t trust them worth a damn. They did whatever they wanted.“Yes, you are. And you’re getting yourself wet with the thought of me pushing my cock into your mouth. Sucking it off for me. Tasting my come. Knowing you’re responsible for getting me this way. You’re enjoying the control and you should, love. I know from experience. It’s a heady trip, isn’t it?”He heard her breathing increase in pace over the phone.“Would it be so wrong to admit, just this once, I turn you on? That this, whatever it is, gets you off?” Ty’s voice strained as he struggled to manage his emotions. If he could wait a little bit longer, he knew it would be big. He knew she was also ready to break soon, and wanted to be there with her. Every step of the way.“Fine. You turn me on. This. Turns me on. Ridiculously. Satisfied?” Lena felt her nipples hardening through her shirt, feeling them under her palm. She twisted her left nipple, painfully, maliciously, whimpering out loud. Not enough. Like an itch she couldn’t scratch, her fingers, her hands…weren’t enough. She needed him.“Tell me what you taste like. Tell me now.” Her voice was a whisper…sexy personified, sultry, as she pinched her clit, shivering at the light sting.“Salty…sweet, slightly bitter. Just like you said. How did you know?”Lena gave a dark, husky laugh full of promise. It made his balls draw up and tighten as his cock continued to pulse, throbbing under his tutelage.“I’m that good.”“Modest too.”She had to take a breath before she answered. Liquid heat ran down her thighs as she caught another breath before answering.“Oh come now, love. Modesty is for people who can’t deliver the goods. And we both know that’s not true, don’t we?” She savored the exquisite torture of her fingers, now thoroughly wet and buried inside her pussy.“It’s too bad you’re not here with me, Ty.” Lena’s voice was breathy as she stroked her clit with increased rhythm. Wild with need now, she was beyond caring about anything but how she felt, how gloriously, amazingly wanton she was.“Do you know what I would do if you were? I would straddle you between my breasts. Sliding that big, thick cock up and down, getting slick with all that come. Lapping up every bit of spill from your thighs and your chest. Making my nipples slippery with your come. Rubbing myself all over you. And then…are you still with me, gorgeous? I would sink down on top of that hard stick of yours and take you inside. I’m so tight, Ty. Can you feel how tight I am?”“Sweet fuck you are tight. It’s like I almost can’t fit.”“I’ve done my pussy push-ups, Ty. So glad you noticed.”“Pussy push-ups? Oh god. I can’t. Ahahaha…Please stop.” Ty’s laughter sounded gravelly and painful, as he struggled not to pass out. Only she could make him laugh at the same time he wanted to fuck her into oblivion. She would find every live wire on him triggered to detonate at her slightest touch. She really would be that fucking good.Damn her infuriating ass, straight to hell. She thought she had this all under control, didn’t she?Clearly, he needed to shake some things up again.Ty managed to zip his pants up and grinned to himself, opening the car door and glancing around. He made sure no one saw him running up the steps to her front door, grabbing the spare and unlocking her front door. He let himself in.
*****************

She started stroking herself, faster, harder, pinching her clit just a little, her breathing ragged. “Oh shit…” Lena murmured, and began to pant. “Get me off, Ty. I need you.”She didn’t even hear him approach. “I would be glad to.” Lena screamed out loud.

Authors’ Bio:
Alisa Anderson well...alisa did stuff and is still doing stuff. only now she has two boys crazy enuff to want her as their mommy. hey, at least she tried to warn them, so her job is done. she doesn’t like to capitalize, partially because she likes how lower case letters look visually, but mostly out of laziness. please don't judge. it could be you. and she would say, hey. you're alright, buddy. you're ok in my book. now c'mere for a hug. the hug might be pushing it. air kiss? you are strangers, after all, with only a mutual love of poor grammar.
she lives for a world full of controllable anatomically correct, android men programmed to meet her specific feminine needs (wink, wink, nudge, nudge with a big waggle of the eyebrows). who look like the rock. and ian somerhalder. and idris elba. and that's it she promises. variety. gotta have variety, right?
but alas...apparently that exists only in johanna lindsey's genius mind. so until then, she enjoys her incredibly warped sense of humor. she reads tons of erotica and romantic, drippy goo that makes her heart go pitter patter. then she thought, hey. what, she said to herself. (softly, of course, so no one finds out she is indeed, 2 nuts short of a fruitcake) maybe you should write this stuff too. maybe someone will like it and maybe buy it. so she said, huh, you think? then she said, well...yeah, i wouldn't have suggested it...(inserts sarcastic tone) and then she was like lose the attitude, ok? then she was all, would you just shut up and write, already? sheesh! and she did. :)

Dream Home with Friday Flames!

Friday Flames welcomes back James DiBenedetto!

J.J. (James) DiBenedetto was born in Yonkers, New York. He attended Case Western Reserve University, where as his classmates can attest, he was a complete nerd. Very little has changed since then.
He currently lives in Arlington, Virginia with his beautiful wife and their cat (who has thoroughly trained them both). When he's not writing, James works in the direct marketing field, enjoys the opera, photography and the New York Giants, among other interests.
The "Dreams" series is James' first published work..

About the Dream SeriesWhat if you could see everyone else’s dreams?  That’s the question Sara has to wrestle with in the Dream Series.  We first meet her as a shy, bookish college student who doesn’t think there’s anything extraordinary about herself.  And then the dreams start…
Over the course of the series, Sara learns to live with these supernatural dreams and all the trouble they plunge her into.  At the same time, she grows from a student to a practicing doctor; and from a single girl to a wife and mother.  But every time she thinks she’s got everything figured out, life – and her extraordinary dreams – teach her that she’s always got more to learn…

Excerpt:
Brian sits down on the bed – I didn’t even notice him letting go of my hand and getting up.  But he’s back now, and he’s – gently, but very insistently – pushing me down.  I let him, and now I’m lying down, head on my pillow again, and he’s leaning down towards me.  “Sara, everything is fine.  Everyone is safe.  You’re safe.”  He comes closer, until his lips are just an inch or two from mine, and then he kisses me.  At first it’s gentle, our lips barely brushing together, but then he sinks down atop me, his body covering mine, and everything disappears except his touch.
Sometime later, he pulls back, just a few inches, and I feel his hand on my belly, then lower, until it’s inside my pajama bottoms – inside my panties.  I gasp, and with his other hand, he puts a finger to my lips.  “You need – you need this.  Matty’s in his room, he’s asleep.  The door is locked, and we have twenty minutes before the alarm goes off. Let me help you…”
He keeps that finger pressed to my lips, keeps his eyes locked on mine, not wavering, not even blinking, as his other hand does its work.  My breath becomes shorter, my heart races – I thought I needed to relax, but Brian is right.  He’s always right.  He’s – oh, God!
My arms are wrapped tightly around him, hanging on to him for dear life.  It’s taking all my willpower not to cry out, to shout my head off.  If I did – oh! Oh! – if I let it out now, I’d shatter every window in the house.  He’s still – his touch is like – it’s – I can’t stand it!  I – I – I can’t keep quiet, I can’t – I need…
…I can’t move.  I – that was – I don’t even know how to describe it.  I’m drained, completely drained.  I can barely turn my head to look at the clock.  5:59 AM.  The last thing he said to me, the last thing I heard before I lost control and tried to scream the house down, was that we had twenty minutes.  That makes the last nineteen minutes the most intense nineteen minutes I’ve experienced in a long time.  I smile weakly up at Brian.  He smiles back, even though I was the one who got all the attention, and all the benefits.  The only things he has to show for it are bite marks on his left hand, from keeping me quiet; and scratches on his sides, from where I was hanging on so tightly to him, my nails – short as they are - clawing into him.  And he obviously doesn’t care in the slightest.
“Feel better?”

Excerpt   Excerpt #1My nipples harden almost painfully from the brush of his hands and the fabric against my human skin. Without realizing it, I let out a moan.
He stops pulling down the fabric and looks at me questionably.
I do not know his question. But I know my answer will be yes.
He tilts his head slightly and moves closer to my face.
I feel his breath on my lips. It smells like that furred fruit my family likes so much. The kiwi. I want to taste him so very badly. I lick my lips and clumsily close the space between us. I want to swallow him, consume him until we are a permanent part of each other.
Dezso lets out a groan and gives me what I want. All the while, he is caressing my back with the most wonderful of touches.
I move my hands down his back and grip his rump, pulling him as close as I possibly can against my body. Oh my, what a delight! So firm, it is like a perfect peach ready for picking. Yet, squeezable like something that can be molded into a shape. I stay, with my hands kneading his flesh, as his hands slow move lower to my rear.
I feel wetness between my legs and let out a gasp of pleasure, feeling an undeniable need to move that area closer to him. There is a hardness between his legs and I know EXACTLY what it is. I want to touch it, taste it, and see if it is just like in my dreams. I slowly pull away from his lips and ease my way to kneeling position.
He looks at me, panting. Desire consumes his eyes.
I wonder if mine are the same, I think to myself, as I pull at the material that covers what I crave. He grabs my hands and gently pulls me to my feet. “Not here, my Lady…”

Excerpt #2
It has been three days since the attack by Than and Cassiel. Iria and I have been training hard. Harder than ever before. There is drastic improvement showing in her skill. She is not even close to being done with training. That will take months, maybe even years to learn all that is possible. But she is progressing quite fast!
My Uncle has been by our sides more than ever, offering his help, knowledge, and guidance to both Iria and myself. He now knows of Iria’s secret and has sworn to take the secret to his grave and beyond. He says he knew there was something different…special about her but did not want to pry. He said he figured if it was meant for him to know, it will be revealed to him. Iria and I, are both truly grateful to have him at our side and for the assistance, he is giving to us. “Iria do not take it easy on the old man. Take him down!

She chuckles and ducks a punch from my Uncle Dillon with ease. Rapidly gaining her feet and swiping his legs from below him. “Eat dirt evil doer!” She jumps up in triumph and laughs at my Uncle’s confounded expression.
