Yesterday's Words #6 - Andromeda's Pledge #1

The day before yesterday, I started a work-for-hire (WFH) project, so my routine got adjusted - which I always find hard to adapt to. So, the day before yesterday, I managed 2,000 words on what I will call WFH01. I can't share any of those. Yesterday, I reached my word minimum for that project (4,000) and then fitted in another 2,000 words on Andromeda's Pledge. Here are some of them:Words from

Yesterday's Words #5 - Andromeda's Pledge #1

Long day, yesterday - and a difficult one, but the words got done, albeit on one project. Here you go:Words from the Seventh:------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Andromeda's Pledge (Chapter 6):

The
‘General Broadcast’ screen returned, and was replaced by a black screen with
white letters. It read:

Yesterday's Words #4 - Andromeda's Pledge #1, Mack #6

The day before yesterday, I wasn't feeling a hundred per cent so I did no words. Yesterday, I wasn't feeling too crash hot, either, but words got done regardless. Days off are okay, but I can't afford too many of them in a row. Here's what got done:Words from the Sixth:Andromeda's Pledge (Chapter 4):

“They do
not want the ship to launch.”

Yesterday's Words #3 - Andromeda's Pledge #1, Lioma #1, Mack #6

Yesterday's words went well. I tried a new routine of doing the words before the admin, and finished them a lot earlier than I expected. It was kinda strange...but nice, definitely nice. It left me with enough time to get some admin done before dinner and the earliest night I've had in quite some time! Now, I just have to keep it up.In the meantime, here are yesterday's words.Words from the

Yesterday's Words #2 - Lioma #1, Mack #6, & Andromeda's Pledge #1

I'm trying a new routine, one that hopefully fits a bit better with the way I write...and that means doing more than one project at any one time. So far, I'm liking it- but we'll see. Ask me next week.I'm also getting back to walking. Given we've still got a virus on the loose - and it's cold outside and I don't want to get sick - I've been doing this inside the house. So far, so good. It's warm

From Yesterday's Words #1

You know how it is, new approach, new routine. After twenty-nine years of writing, I've discovered I need to relearn what I can actually achieve in a day. It kinda creeps up on you. To do that, I identified where I wrote my best and where I started to bog down, and then changed my routine and the way I approach projects to optimize one and minimize the other. This means I've cut down how many

Mack 'n ' Me #6 - Writing Update #10

So, the last three days were interesting - and busy - and my characters did sideswipe me but not in an "OMG, why do you do this to me - do it again!" sort of way. No, more in the "Please make the words cooperate" kind of way, which is nowhere near as much fun. Not many words, but here's an extract from the ones that did get done:Words from Day 14 (Chapter 24):

We lined up to be processed, Mack

Mack 'n' Me #6 - Writing Update #9

It took ALL day to beat the blues, yesterday. (Well... it took THREE days to beat the blues, but only one, once I'd nailed what had caused them.) I finally got some words done yesterday, and here are a few of them.Words from Day 13 (Chapter):

Mikalesket’s voice sounded clunky coming to me through my ears.

“Your people aren’t familiar with lizardine culture,” he noted. “We
will rectify this on

Mack 'n' Me #6 - Writing Update #8

Okay, so I've had an emotionally rough three days and writing has been difficult. Some words got done, but I'm going to miss the 31st. Hopefully, I won't miss it by much, but you can't write a lot when you're upset, worried AND depressed. You just have to work your way through it, either by writing slowly or by doing other tasks you can focus on, until you can write. I've tried both techniques

Mack 'n' Me #6 - Writing Update #7

So, yesterday, Mack 6 reached 48,000 words. Now, this should be over the half-way mark, and I think it is, but we'll see. The journey continues. Here's an excerpt from yesterday's words:Words from Day 10 (Chapter 21):

“We weren’t going to stop.” Mikalesket had joined us, again.

“Well, we are, now,” Mack told him. “We took a hit.”

“I know. We scanned your system.”

“And?” If Mack was surprised
