{31 days of enough time} Have a clear vision

31 days of enough time | www.organisingqueen.com

When you design a home or a room, you need to know what you want before you can assemble the pieces to make your vision come to life. If you don’t know what you want, the professional helping you will ask you questions until your vision becomes clear to you … and to them.

Even then things might not go exactly to plan.

We had our bedroom painted a few years ago. I thought I liked a particular green so I bought the paint, got the painter in and went to work.

When I got back home, I walked in and s...

{31 days of enough time} Take time to prepare lunches and snacks

For the next 4 weeks I want to share a 15-minute weekly tip that pays huge time dividends.

You see, it’s a time investment for me because I invest the time and it then goes to work creating enough time when I need it, daily throughout the week.

This is really not earth-shattering news but once you do it, you’ll be amazed how it pays off.

You see, I can’t stand taking the time to make those kinds of decisions daily. I’d much rather think about it once a week and then my brain is freed up :)

{31 days of enough time} Multitasking saves you time… NOT!

On Fridays during this series I hope to post a different myth each week, one that will set you free.

Let’s call them Freedom Friday posts!

Today’s myth is on multitasking.

When I tell people that I speak and coach on time management, everybody immediately thinks that I’m going to tell them how to do multiple things at the same time.

I once said, “I actually don’t believe in multitasking” and the person gasped :)

That’s right, I don’t.

The truth is that multitasking does not save you time.

{31 days of enough time} Have you ever done a time budget?

Every Thursday during this month I’m going to post about one of my favourite tools to have enough time (hint – only two of them are electronic!).

We’re all very used to the idea of doing a budget for our money, whether or not we actually use it.

But have you ever thought of doing a budget for your time?

How to do a time budget |www.OrganisingQueen.com

I’ve used a time budget for about 4 years now.

At one point when my kids were very little, I wondered why it seemed like there never seemed to be enough time… and yet I knew what I needed to do, w...

Welcome to {31 days of enough time}

31 days of enough time | www.OrganisingQueen.com

Hi, I’m Marcia.

Welcome!

If this is your first time here, do stay awhile and browse the links in the navigation and on the sidebar —->>>

Today I want to talk a bit about why I chose this topic and what it means to me.

It’s no secret I’m passionate about time management, goal-setting and organising.

However I’ve written two series on organising, goal-setting seems to be quite seasonal for most people (not for me, of course – I could talk about it til the cows come home) and so I really wanted to wr...

How to print Instagram photos (on the cheap)

Late last year I decided that I wanted to print my Instagrams for the year. I investigated a lot of options but they were all too expensive (for me) – maybe you don’t mind paying that much… I do. So I googled a bit and eventually mished and mashed a few things together, and this […]

Some reading for the weekend – Sept edition – and this year’s 31 days

I decided to participate in The Nester’s 31 days writing challenge for the month of October. I wrote about organising when I participated before so this time I’m talking about time management. I usually subscribe to about 10 new blogs just for this challenge and, to be honest, most of them fall off my reader […]

{Time management} What does the bookshelf of your life look like?

I was recently going through some Kindle samples to delete or add to my wish list. I came across an author who described our lives as bookshelves. The sample wasn’t compelling enough for me to add to my “to read” pile but somehow that image of the bookshelf stayed with me. I’ve since gone through […]

Danielle had a mini-workbook-type thing somewhere on her blog/ newsletter/ I can’t remember because I print them off and don’t keep the files There was a question in there […]
