Now what? Let’s do this – a new workshop

Some of my friends have said to me they’re very glad to see the back of 2014…

Some have been working throughout and haven’t had any time to think or process the end of 2014 and transition to 2015

Still others are a bit overwhelmed by all the goal-setting, resolutions and one word posts out there (if you’re on all the social media, your head must be bursting)

And others want to be more intentional but are not sure exactly how that works or where to start.

Good news for you!

Let's do this!

{Weekend fun with the kids} Washi tape pencil bags

Some of my most favourite things to do with the kids is to craft.

The key is to first test the concept quickly while they’re asleep so that I know how to troubleshoot in case there’s a meltdown or two.

(you might say I learnt that one the hard way)

Supplies

Ziploc bags (the proper Ziplocs because they’re sturdier). I used these zipper slide bags because they were already in the shape of a pencil bag
washi tape/ decorative tape (my first test bag was made with Scotch tape I bought in the USA)

My 2015 word of the year

This year’s been interesting in that I didn’t feel a big WHOOSH with the word thing.

I could explain everything I was looking for in a few sentences but somehow the word wasn’t coming.

So I joined Susannah Conway’s Facebook group and wrote on there… and then I got emailed with TONS of great ideas. Some were nice… but not for me…and some were great and needed more thought.

And then I had a fleeting thought, like this is going the way all my bad ideas go – I’m getting too much advice and not trust...

Let’s get back to basics

So, friends, I’m still pondering on my word but I will write about a word (at least the first one – yes, there was one which I tossed out!) on Wednesday.

Remember there’s no rule that says you have to have your word and your goals sorted by January 1st.

Intention over speed!

In the meanwhile, I’m feeling a hankering to get back to basics with, well, everything.

Can I make a confession? I had to (mentally) sit myself down and give myself a talk to take time with my business goals.

{Live intentionally} My annual review of 2014… and here’s to 2015

Well, it’s the end of a year. And what a year it’s been.

I’m always amazed at how some things fade from memory until I properly consider and think about the year behind me.

What about you?

I took some time on Monday to close out 2014 and on Tuesday, I set (loose) goals for 2015.

Have you printed out the 2015 goals and intentions document yet? It’s part of the welcome pack.

I split out my planning over three days – feel free to do it all in a week, or in one day. Anything and everything works.

{Organising} My 2015 diary

I’ve long said that this week between Christmas and New Year’s is my favourite week of the whole year!

Prepping my new diary, adding a few dates to those lovely blank pages, sticking in my January goals (I type them up and print them small for sticking into my diary) and the smell – oh the smell of new pages!

Heavenly.

I’ve had my diary since 24 September (a public holiday here which is why I remember the date) and I’m so glad I got it so early because I just peeked again a week ago and there is...

{Organising} My kids’ organised playroom

Organised Playroom |www.OrganisingQueen.com

With most of South Africa on leave between Christmas and New Year’s, this is the ideal time to tackle a slightly bigger organising project because there’s a bit more time.

I’ve been decluttering smaller summer clothes, tidying wardrobes, decluttering my stash of gift wrap and gift bags (and I’ve only ever bought about 1/4 of it all), decluttering more clothes and since I organised this playroom about a month ago, I’ve tidied it up at least once a week.

There is no before picture because I was i...

{Time management} Lessons learnt from baking biscuits for Christmas

The aim was to bake a batch of my “famous” oatmeal drop cookies (terrible pics but good recipe :)) to make 3 gifts. One batch yields about 36 cookies and I package 12 of them in a clean coffee glass jar with ribbons and labels to prettify.

This is one of the plain ones since it was for a guy ;)

This happened two weeks ago and I learnt a few valuable lessons :)

1. Don’t try to multi-task

I’m sure I just popped out of the kitchen to quickly do something in the study…
