The Black Panther: Comic Chronology // published by Marvel Comics (2014)
Ok let’s begin with this little history lesson: The Black Panther was introduced way back in Fantastic Four #52 in 1966 by the minds of Jack Kirby and Stan Lee. It was the first documented black superhero and it broke the mold of every pre-conception about black man at the time: T’challa (his real name) was not a regular superhero. He was a King of the (fictional) African nation of Wakanda which was a place that also broke the mold of every African nation at that time and in the current era: it was not a conflict- barren land but a striving nation with a society that worked marrying the concepts of technology and spirituality.
Although he was a frequent guest start in comics like Tales of Suspense, Captain America and The Avengers. He would star in solo adventures in the anthology “Jungle Action” by the year of 1973 and get his solo tittle by 1977. The first 12 issues of the first volume were drawn, written and edited by Jack kirby himself. Later on T’challa would grace the page of the Avengers with full membership for most of the 80’s and a mini series in 1988 by Peter Gillis and Dennys Cowan.
He would get a solo book again in the first round of Marvel Knights revamped characters in 1998 with words by Christopher Priest and art by Mark Texeira. This third volume was the longest run of the character with 62 issues published by the same writer until the very last issue. A retelling of his origins were made in 2005 to launch a 6-episode animated series. This fourth volume gave us a hardened version of the character with words by Reginald Hudlin and visuals by John Romita Jr. This time around we actually got to see some real evolution on the character as we learned more about his dealing ruling Wakanda and his search for a bride (he ended up marrying Storm of the X-Men). The fifth volume centered on T’challa’s sister taking the mantle after being seriously injured by Dr. Doom in the “Dark Reign” storyline. In 2011 the character was no longer royalty on his nation so he took Daredevil spot in his own book for awhile. You can see the current adventures of the character in “New Avengers”. Where it’s shown why he’s one of the heavy hitters and big minds running the current Marvel Universe.

Every single person needs to reblog this. No, it will not ruin your blog, it will make it a million times better.
So much respect. And sadness. He’s trying so hard to stay strong.
i’m tearing :/
wow
No, no, this is horrible. You see, the flag will go to the husband or wife of the deceased soldier as next of kin. This flag is going to the son.
Both of his parents are gone.
I had to reread that last comment on this a few times and when I realized what that meant and my heart just fell through the fucking floor
To all our Veterans, and to their families who serve as well, in every sense, and for those who served and didn’t come home, the thanks of a grateful nation this Memorial Day.
