Saturday
Some photos in and in front of the beautiful house we're staying in. I'm going to be spoiled forever for living in a normal flat after this guy, which is more windows than walls.

Connecticut, first week
I'm here in Connecticut, via Boston and then St Johnsbury, Vermont for three days. We arrived yesterday so we're settling in, to the house and our routines. It's beautiful here, very wooded and sunny, though you can feel the air getting colder. This morning Alice told me there are tortoises in the woods, at which point I remembered I'd dreamt about them all night - a hopeful portent of tortoise-seeing.

Letter from the Editor
I sent my favourite reviewer, my cousin Georgie, aged 10, a letter begging for urgent reviews of Showtime for Billie and Coco and Babies Don't Bite. Here's her reply, which also contained a card with her reviews... which I am relieved to say were favourable.
She's right, it IS inexcusable.

Getting my motor running!

I'm getting very excited for my upcoming trip! Very soon I'm off to the States for five weeks, four of which I'll be spending in Connecticut for the Sendak Fellowship. I'm slowly getting myself organised... I'm taking all my work materials and my camera, and plan to blog a bit about what goes on. I feel terribly lucky to be having a month for personal work and to spend time with my two fellow Fellows, Alice Lickens and Gerardo Blumenkrantz. The possibilities feel very exciting to me!
These guys above are rhinoceros beetles, but they've gone pink. Hence looking a bit nude.

Oh Molly!
Saw Pretty in Pink yesterday at Somerset House - about billionth viewing, but first on the big screen. My favourite 80s seamstress!

The Freewheelin'
My sister asked for a picture for her birthday this year. She is a big Bruce Springsteen fan, but his albums don't lend themselves so much to animal copying - I did Born to Run but the rest were tougher (Tougher than the Rest ho ho!) But she loves Bob too, so I went for this one.
As my sister said, illustrating in that millisecond of photo the relationship you've always wanted, in the 60s, in New York.
