Roosters show some backbone with much-vaunted culture by showing Radley the door
It should come as no surprise to anyone, even Victor Radley, that the Roosters have shown him the door.
Despite having two years left on his contract, the club has told Radley that he should explore options elsewhere in the NRL or Super League.
Translation: Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.
The NRL’s leading newsbreaker, the Sydney Morning Herald’s Michael Chammas, reported earlier on Wednesday evening that the Roosters had informed Radley’s manager that he was free to leave.

Canberra forward Hudson Young won’t back down from his taunting of opponents if they make an error while revealing that he didn’t say anything to Reece Walsh before the Brisbane fullback headbutted him.
Young was controversially sent to the sin bin along with Walsh even though the Raiders star only laughed at Walsh following a Broncos error as he got in his face.
Walsh responded by leading with his forehead into Young’s chin and pushing him over.
The match review committee fined Walsh f...

McDonald warns against Cummins ‘over-reaction’ but admits skipper might not play every Ashes Test
Australia’s injured captain Pat Cummins will play a “significant” part in the Ashes but may not feature in all five Tests, coach Andrew McDonald says.
McDonald concedes uncertainty remains around Cummins amid the skipper’s back injury.
But he dismissed speculation Cummins could miss the highly-anticipated Test series against England starting on November 21 in Perth.
“We’re confident that he’s going to partake in the Ashes so I think to sensationalise that he’s not would be an over-react...

Australian players are way undervalued: Can Nestory and his young Socceroo mates change the story?
I’ve spent hundreds of hours on European fan forums defending Australian players.
There’s a bizarre fan prejudice against our lot – especially in Britain – despite the fact that the club owners see massive value. They appreciate that Australian players are cheap in contrast with Euro or British players. In other words, they will pay much less for the same quality. That makes our players attractive.
If you want proof, look no further than the English Championship where there are currently 1...
