Leaking a little news about a new Fable in the works about the Archer and the Horse…

The Archer, the Horse and the PrincessI've been teasing news about my Fable, The Archer, the Horse and the Princess all week. You can find this Fable on the Kindle, Nook, Kobo and Smashwords.

I teased this news all week, and I am sorry to say my Jeep breaking down today kind of wrecked my planned announcement for today. However I am going to leak a little news concerning a new Archer Fable.

Over the last week I've been working on my next Archer Fable, a sort of prequel to first story detailing one of our heroes fantastic adventures. The story involves, the Archer, his amazing Horse, a braid of pure gold and an Ogre. By the end of next week I hope to have this Once Upon Time story ready to tell my children and share with you all.

Transformers Ironhide a more than meets the eyes review

Transformers Ironhide is published by IDW is a four-part series by writer Mike Costa and art by Casey Coller. Per IDW, the mini-series will explore the history of Ironhide and the aftermath following his shocking death in IDW Transformers #1

Yes I am late to the party with this, it was published way back in 2010, but I've not been paying attention to the IDW Transformers comics at all (although after this I might be). I picked this series up simply because I like Ironhide, (he is a bit of a grump like me), and the story from what I read in Chucks Comics intrigued me.

The basic synopsis is Ironhide wakes up after being killed and finds himself back on Cybertron. He is sort of hazy, confused and we flip back and forth as he remembers certain things from his past life, well, except for a 4 million year gap and all his time on Earth. As he explores the deserted planet he runs into Alpha Trion and learns why he has been brought back to life.  It is basically an origin story for Ironhide, and reinvents the character.

To be frank this mini-series surprised me, IDW has taken bold steps in reinventing the Transformers and this is not the Marvel comic most may remember from their heyday. The story is gritty, realistic and dark. But the journey you undertake with Ironhide is a fun ride, with wonderful artwork and good solid writing.

Ironhide comes across as the total soldier that he is, rough around the edges but very good at what he does. There are a couple of surprises along the way, and his fight against a horde of Insecticons is a lot of fun to follow, especially with him grumbling all the way.

If you are a Transformers fan I highly recommend you pick up this series and enjoy the reboot, you will love what IDW have done to this universe, and I suspect you might pick up some of the other IDW Transformer stories. It certainly has got me eying up the IDW rack at our local store, and I'm not a huge Transformers fan.

This is a solid mini-series 4 thumbs up out of 5

Interesting review being compared to James Patterson Me thinks this is a good thing!

One of the my Page99test.com reviews for Accept One, book two of the Tether Saga compared my work to James Patterson, a compliment indeed. The review was posted by Mark Austin, who gave the page sample a thumbs up and is quoted in full below.

'Amazing choice if this is really your page 99. I'm not a fan of James Patterson style killers but it's written as well as Patterson. It's bestseller material. Gruesome, like slowing down to see a bad car wreck. Got to admit you grabbed my attention as if this were page 1'

Now for a little explanation what Page99test is all about. For a while I had a preview page up on Page99Test.com from Accept One. The website takes page 99 from your book, and with no explanation or story set up places it to be cold reviewed. The idea being you read page 99, and it should hook you enough to turn the page to find out what happens next. Reviews have been mixed because of the lack of context going in, but its been an interesting experience. You can learn more about page99test.com by clicking here.
