Cat Toy Safety
I’m pretty paranoid when it comes to making sure the toys I let Allegra and Ruby play with are safe. We have plenty of “blind and deaf mice” at our house because I remove glued on eyes and ears from toy mice before I even give them to the girls. Toys with rubber bands or elastic are a no-no, and it goes without saying that any interactive, fishing type poles with string are never left out and only used when I play with the girls. Cat toy safety is paramount at our house.

Cat Photography Q&A with Michele West
Michele West has been a photographer most of her life. She considers herself fortunate to have studied photography early when it was still “film” and in the style of the great masters. Henri Cartier-Bresson, who is considered the father of photo journalism, and who coined the term, “the decisive moment,” was one of her great inspirations. The decisive moment is waiting for all the elements to come perfectly together.
Michele started out doing street photography in New York City, where she did...

Almost Invisible Cat Litter Solves Litter Box Problems
When I was approached by the makers of Almost Invisible Cat Litter, I was intrigued simply by the product name. I was also interested because this product is distributed by www.Anti-Icky-Poo.com, the largest distributor of Anti-Icky-Poo (isn’t that a great name?!), which has been my ” go to” cleaner and odor remover for decades. I first started using Anti-Icky Poo when I managed a veterinary hospital, and believe me, we dealt with our share of icky odors and stains.
Since Allegra and Ruby have...

How Cats Show Affection
Cats have a reputation ofbeing aloof, but nothing could be further from the truth. Cats express affection for humans and for each other in a multitude of ways. Each cat is an individual, so not all cats will show affection in quite the same way, but there are some common ways how cats show they love you.
Bunting
When a cat rubs her face against you or head butts you, she leaves her scent on you. Cats have scent glands on the side of their cheeks. The pheromones located in those glands are assoc...

Conscious Cat Sunday: Unplug for Your Health
Technology is awesome. I use it every day, all day long, and I wouldn’t want to imagine my life without it. From connecting with friends near and far via email and social media to shopping (Amazon and I are BFF’s these days – is there anything you can’t buy from Amazon?), technology has become as much a part of my every day life as breathing and eating. But unfortunately, technology comes with a dark side. As with so many things in life, there’s such a thing as too much of a good thing.
Are we...
