Release Day ~ Spring Knight

It's here!

Spring Knight releases today and is out now on Amazon.

This is the book I've been most worried about releasing, as the main character Kayleigh is closest to me with her personality. However, I had a lot of fun writing it, and I hope you love Kayleigh and Aiden.

Here are all of the links, details, an excerpt, and some teasers.

Happy reading!

Spring Knight

Genre: YA Romance
Length: Novella

Blurb:
She wants the leading role in everything but her own life.

Kayleigh Barrow always gets the leading role. Top of her class, well liked, and a good actress, she’s most comfortable on stage where she can pretend to be someone else and forget the real Kayleigh exists. However, when auditions for the latest production are opened up to the entire university, the lines between fantasy and reality start to blur.

The last person Kayleigh expected to audition was Aiden Hanson. Renowned player and popular on campus, Kayleigh has tried to conceal her feeling from him for years. She knows it would be stupid to think he’d want her or an actual relationship, but when they’re thrown together in the production, Kayleigh can no longer hide from him.

No matter how much she tries to distances herself, he’s always there. Neither of them can deny their attraction, but Kayleigh has to question Aiden’s motives. He’s never had a serious relationship and she refuses to be another conquest. Yet, when her acting starts to become real and she can no longer hide behind her character, Kayleigh must decide whether Aiden’s worth the risk, or if he’s only after a challenge and will end up breaking her heart.

Spring Knight is the 4th book in the Seasons of Change series. However, all books are standalone reads so can be enjoyed separately, but can also be enjoyed as part of a series because characters overlap.

Excerpt
Black. It was the only colour she could see as she stood on top of the platform. Her vision had tunnelled with the waves of vertigo that hit her body, allowing only the dark colour into her eye line. With the strength of a gale force wind, it pounded on her chest, causing her to stumble back as its icy hold sent a shiver along her spine. The break from seeing the ground wasn’t enough, though. She couldn’t go far enough to feel safe. If she moved more than one step in any direction she would fall. She felt dizzy ... lightheaded. It was the worst possible time to find out she was scared of heights, but maybe it was the thought of jumping rather than the actual distance. Not only did she feel faint, but also sick. Kayleigh didn’t even know how those two actions could combine, but she let out a nervous giggle and hoped another type of blackness would capture her mind before she made a complete fool of herself. It probably made her sound insane, but she couldn’t stop the sound. No longer could she find the answer to why she was on a platform, willing herself to fall. It had seemed logical and easy on the climb up, but now she suddenly felt as if she was standing on top of a building, rather than a few metres in the air. Her heart was pounding in her chest; the rhythm frantic as she urged herself to peer over the edge once more. Palms slick with sweat, her fingers slipping over each other, she twitched nervously as she strained her neck to catch a glimpse of the floor.“I can do this. Just lean back and it will all be over,” she muttered to herself, only adding to the crazy image she had going on.
People were shuffling anxiously on the ground, unsettled by her actions. “Block them out, Kayleigh. You can do this,” she chanted ritually under her breath before she inhaled sharply. Slowly counting, she exhaled with a deep sigh when she reached twenty. Her whole body relaxed with the action and Kayleigh closed her eyes, trying to find a sense of peace and stillness. Unfortunately, all it did was make her knees weaker. Reopening her eyes, Kayleigh kept her head up and her chin parallel with the floor. If she didn’t look down, what she was about to do couldn’t scare her … at least that’s what she told herself.

You can now get all four Amazon bestselling novellas in the Seasons of Change series, plus two exclusive short stories, in one box set.

These feel-good contemporary romances follow the seasons as characters change for the better, find themselves, and overcome fears.

All of the novellas are standalone reads, but can be enjoyed as a series because characters overlap. This box set includes:

Summer Demons: Jenna Shaw jumped on a plane and flew to Portugal to try and forget her past. However, forced to deal with her memories due to an ill-timed joke, Jenna’s holiday is derailed by the charismatic Ethan Brooks. She sees him as an annoyance; he sees her as a challenge. And when all of his usual tricks only serve to push her away, Ethan has to work harder than ever if he wants to win over and help his mysterious girl.

Winter Angel: When Amy’s suggestion of a beach holiday is overruled in favour of skiing she couldn’t have predicted it might make her break the one, and only, rule she has: not to commit to a serious relationship again. The minute she sees Luke, she knows something’s wrong, and her desire to fix people means she wants to be the one to help him. However, she didn’t go on holiday to fall for someone, and whether or not she can move past her insecurities will depend on whether Luke can face his biggest fear.

Autumn Ghosts: Only one person knows what truly lies in Ellie Jeffords’ heart, and that’s herself. Hating the course she is studying, Ellie is failing and when a friend’s cousin, Justin, offers to tutor her, she jumps at the chance. However, as the pressure of exams starts to break Ellie, Justin wants her to confide in him. The only problem is that he can’t persuade her to talk without revealing his own dark secret, and forcing Ellie to choose between her parents’ dreams and her own will cost her something she loves.

Spring Knight: Kayleigh Barrow is most comfortable on stage where she can pretend she’s someone else, but when auditions for the latest production are opened up to the entire university, the lines between fantasy and reality start to blur. Thrown together with renowned player, Aiden Hanson, she can’t longer hide her feelings for him. However, he’s never had a serious relationship and Kayleigh refuses to be another conquest. When her acting starts to become real and she can no longer hide behind her character, Kayleigh must decide whether Aiden’s worth the risk, or if he will end up breaking her heart.

Plus 2 exclusive short stories:
Summer Revenge:
Jenna promised she’d get Ethan back for his prank, and it’s time to cash in. Read about what happened after the couple left Portugal.
Season of Love: There’s beach fun, flirting, and mischief as all of the Seasons of Change couples take part in a beach competition.

Release Day ~ Autumn Ghosts (Seasons of Change 3)

It's here!

The third book in my Seasons of Change series is released today! Autumn Ghosts has been one of the hardest books I've had to write to date. This wasn't just because the characters refused to behave, but it also contains subjects that are close to my heart and stem from personal experiences.

I can't wait for you all to meet Justin and read about his story with Ellie. I hope you love them as much as I do!

You can buy Autumn Ghosts on Amazon now.

Her dreams may cost Ellie her family, but ignoring them will cost her happiness.

Only one person knows what truly lies in Ellie Jeffords’ heart, and that’s herself. For almost three years she’s concealed her dreams and lived the life her parents expect her to by studying accountancy. She’s tried to follow their wishes, but they forgot to consider one important detail: Ellie’s happiness.

Hating the course she is studying, Ellie is failing, and the only person who was willing to help—her gran—has passed away. Not wanting to disappoint her family, she struggles on in silence, thinking she can rectify the problem before anyone finds out. So when a friend’s cousin, Justin, offers to tutor her, she jumps at the chance.

As the two meet frequently, and grow closer together, the pressure of exams starts to break Ellie. Justin wants her to confide in him, but he can’t persuade her to talk without revealing his own dark secret. With both of them hiding things, it tests their newly formed relationship. However, Justin refuses to give up on her. He forces her to make a choice between her parents’ dreams and her own, but the only problem is that both options may cost her something she loves.
Here are some teasers! (if you've been following me on Facebook, you'll have already seen these)

Guest Post ~ L. P Dover Author of Tyler's Undoing

I'm so excited to host a stop on this tour. I love L.P's work (her MMA romances especially), so I couldn't wait to get my hands on a copy of Tyler's Undoing. Trust me, it won't disappoint!
Enjoy everyone!
Tyler's Undoing (Gloves Off, #2) Tyler's Undoing (Gloves Off #2)

Releasing October 6th 2014

She was what he wanted … but she was also his undoing.

Through mutual understanding, Tyler’s secret affair with Gabriella Reynolds has come to an end. It’s a decision that not only saves their friendship, but it’s one that will change his life forever.

For the past couple of years, Tyler Rushing has been known as one of the UFC’s most memorable and sexy heavyweight fighters. Now he has the chance to win the title and claim the fame he so deserves. He has everything he could ever want until Kacey Andrews walks through the door of his gym, wanting nothing to do with him. Keeping his eyes off of her is a challenge; there’s an innocence about her that draws him to her, and he’s not going to stop until he makes her his. Little does he know that Kacey Andrews isn’t a stranger. She’s a part of his world; he just doesn’t know it. It’s a secret she’s worked hard to keep hidden.

Kacey spent years trying to get away from the fighting world, away from the man who’s hated among the MMA elite … her brother, Kyle Andrews. Unfortunately, she’s brought back into it when Tyler’s relentless battle for her heart wins her over, drawing her in. The only problem is that secrets never stay buried forever. In the end, Tyler has a decision to make, and it’s one that can possibly destroy his and Kacey’s life … forever.

GOODREADS
Gust Post _Why MMA and how did L.P get into the genre?I got into MMA because I absolutely LOVE the sport. I've watched it for years with my husband, and of course, I have my favorites. Urijah Faber is my all out favorite. Even though the sport is brutal there's something sexy about the way the men fight. In my MMA books, it's not just titles my fighters fight for. They also fight for the women they love. I guess I'm a sucker for love triangles and jealous men. I like to see them fight for the women they want. So anyway, with that being said, what better way for a man to fight for woman then actually FIGHTING for her. As far as the genre, I like to add in suspense to all of my novels. Romantic suspense is and will always be my favorite genre. I like to keep people on the edge of their seats.
Excerpt
Spreading my legs with his knee, he smiled down at me and covered my body with his, leaning on his elbows to keep his full weight off of me. I was small underneath his body, utterly at his mercy. It was an archaic feeling, but I wanted him to take me, to claim me for his own—leave his mark on me.

“I love the way you look when you’re happy, it’s breathtaking the way your face glows,” he claimed, brushing his fingers down my cheek. “However, your eyes are what I love the most.”

“Why is that?” I asked, kissing his fingers as be brushed them over my lips.

He brought his own gray gaze down closer and looked deeply into my eyes. “When I look at you, I see that light, beckoning me closer. It’s that light I’ve been so afraid will burn out if you let me in, but the more time I’ve spent with you, it’s only gotten brighter. I’m addicted to it … to you. These days I can’t seem to think of anything else.”

I felt the same way.

“And once you make love to me it’ll only get worse,” I admitted tenderly. “Is that a risk you’re willing to take?”

He lowered his lips to mine and I closed my eyes, loving the way my lips tingled every time they touched his. “Yes,” he answered. “I’d risk just about anything for you.”

The Big Reveal + Giveaway

I have been meaning to reveal little bits about Seasons of Change 3 here and there, but my schedule has just been crazy these last few weeks so I forgot. Yeah, I know. How can I forget about my own books, right? Well I started writing two new books and got consumed into their worlds, and then I was more interested in them as it was easier than writing a blurb, which was the main reason I delayed this. I hate blurb writing.

Anyway, I finally forced myself to sit at my laptop and write a blurb, so now I can reveal the title, cover, blurb all at once!

Hope you like it everyone and feel free to share it!

Sad News ... I Think ...

I really hate writing these posts as a part of me is shouting "what the hell are you doing?!" at myself. However, I think it's for the best an will work out better in the end, so please keep that in mind and don't hate me for this.

Having said that, I wanted to let everyone know that today I have unpublished all Elemental Killers books. This is a decision that I have been mulling over for weeks, but I think it's the right one. You see, I was sixteen when I first published Deadly to Love and it was really my first serious leap into self-publishing. I didn't have a clue what I was doing back then--not that I do now lol--but I knew I wanted to write. Since Deadly to Love's release though, I have learnt a lot and think my writing has progressed. There are many things I want to go back and change and would have done differently had I had the knowledge I do now, and therefore I want the series to reflect that.

I've always been slightly unhappy with Deadly to Love, especially the start, but I needed to complete the series or else I would have never moved on and developed as a writer. This series was definitely a learning progress for me and because of this, I feel books 3 and 4 are a lot stronger. Now I've reached the end, I can see where I want to go back and edit, make changes, and add scenes. I'll also be taking on some of the constructive criticism I've had through reviews.

So, although the books are currently unavailable, they will come back better than ever, I promise. I will be doing a major overhaul on the narrative--especially book 1--and will republish them all at once when I have the time so you can get an end to Rea and Kai's story and not have to wait for each book to release individually.

Oh, and don't worry, you won't have to buy them again when I do! I'll be republishing under the same ASIN, with the same cover and blurb so all you have to do is update it from your Kindle dashboard if you don't have automatic updates turned on.

Happy reading!
