Gross: Tony Perkins makes some sort of 'ugly baby' joke at Hillary Clinton's expense

After an interview with his Executive Vice President, Jerry Boykin, that was exclusively dedicated to Hillary Clinton and the email thing that's in the press, viciously anti-gay (among other things) social conservative politico Tony Perkins responded to Boykin's use of the phrase "ugly baby" like so:

He "couldn't help it," folks.

Really, suddenly contrite Ben Carson? Because you were pretty cocksure before!

I don't know about you, but if I go on national television and claim that millions of people's sexual orientations are "absolutely a choice" and further suggest that prison coitus proves this to be so, I think it's fair to say that I am "pretending to know" what I just said I "absolutely" know. And since I spoke in such absolutes, it's also fair to believe that I had given my views some prior thought.

But this is far-right politics we're talking about. And so now a man with a very anti-gay tra...

ADF links A-Rod's drug suspension with florist's anti-gay discrimination; huh?!

I'm really trying to be nice here. But there's just no other way to say it. This clumsy attempt, from Alliance Defending Freedom Senior Counsel Joseph Infranco, might be the most ridiculous piece of commentary writing I've ever seen an anti-gay organization put out:

Screen Shot 2015-03-04 At 8.04.39 Pm

Disgraced Yankee superstar Alex Rodriguez recently made headlines with a hand-written apology addressed “(to) the (f)ans” over his drug violation suspension. Predictable debate followed the apology; some thought it sincere, while o...

NOM to gay families: Your relationships are 'simply about adult sexual desires'

I have a husband, a child, and in-laws. I have bills and wills and taxes. I have decisions about schools and meals and whether that sweater will be warm enough for that day. I have a teething toddler and an overworked spouse. I have a never-ending to-do list of family and work commitments. I have more love and security and blessings than I ever dreamt I'd have, which far overshadow the long hours and occasional frustrations.

In short, I have a marriage and a family. But not to National Organiz...

Maggie Gallagher's new gig

Maggie, the personality probably most (and forever) associated with marriage inequality in this country, is now editing a political site with its eye on 2016

[Pulse2016]

This "Pulse 2016" site is a project of the American Principles Project, which is essentially a spinoff of NOM. APP was founded by Maggie's NOM cofounder, Robert George, and in addition to Maggie, it includes a number of NOM's behind-the-scenes players, like Luis Tellez and Sean Fieler, on its board.

This being the case, let me b...

How do you even talk with a movement that insists we 'cannot coexist'?

The Alliance Defending Freedom, the pro-discrimination legal group at the forefront of most cases wherein an anti-gay–minded person cites his or her "religious freedom" as valid reason to ignore fairly enacted nondiscrimination polices that apply to LGBT people, has written yet another post on sexual orientation/gender identity (SOGI) laws. ADF sums up its position in the headline:

The "cannot coexist" line is used twice more in the post and its attached video. There is no discussion to b...

Sen. Manchin picks odd way to (D-istinguish) himself

Screen Shot 2015-03-02 At 9.10.08 PmWhat's it like to play solitaire while sitting on the wrong side of an arc? Ask Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV):

The lone Democrat in the U.S. Senate to oppose same-sex marriage is sticking to his views despite efforts among members of Congress in his party to convince the Supreme Court to find a constitutional right to marriage rights for gay couples.

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) signaled Monday he won’t sign a friend-of-the-court brief being prepared by congressional Democrats in favor of same-sex mar...

But yeah, go ahead and tell us again how this is all about "religious freedom" and how you're the victims, kiddos. We "homo-nazis" love a good fairy tale almost as much as we love fair accommodations.

AG Holder: 'Marriage equality is an idea whose time has come.'

Before he leaves his office, Attorney General Eric Holder is once again doing right by equality. He spells out the plan in a new USA Today Op-Ed; go read in full:

Over the next several months, the Supreme Court will decide whether state restrictions on same-sex marriage are unconstitutional. As the court considers that momentous question, the Department of Justice will make clear that our answer is an unequivocal "yes."

This week, the Justice Department will file a brief setting forth our posit...

Viciously anti-gay activist Scott Lively to help us show SCOTUS what animus looks like; thanks, doll!

6A00D8341C503453Ef019Aff2F148B970B-1Scott Lively's activism/rhetoric in both the states and (especially) abroad is so vehement that he is literally standing trial for crimes against humanity. Yet for some reason (i.e. hubris. It's hubris) Lively thinks he and his mindset will be a good thing for his movement as it readies the most important battle in its history. Here's the aggressively obtuse press release:

Vigil for Marriage at the Supreme Court and All Federal Courts

Contact: Dr. Scott Lively, 413-250-0984, sdllaw@gmail.com
