Domain Domination
You know that moment? The one when you realize you should have gotten a bill, but haven’t seen it? That happened to me two months back when I forgot to check an old email account and didn’t find the reminder to renew my old domain name: gentasebastian{dot}com until one (1) day after the renewal period ended. When I contacted the registration people, they said it would cost over a hundred dollars to get it back, or I could wait until July 27th and re-register it.
Well, I waited. Who else would...

Looking to Pirate my Books?
This was originally blogged two years ago, but I find it extremely timely, as I’m afraid too many of us do. Thank you, Bridget Essex, for explaining it perfectly.
I’ve been a little quiet lately because I’ve been a little depressed about something. I’ve been working every day, so my sadness hasn’t affected my output thankfully (and, hopefully, A Knight to Remember will be out tomorrow, depending on how the final edits go today!). But I’m an honest person, and I’m also p...

WHAT A DIFFERENCE A DAY MAKES
Well, in another example of how the world shifts and tilts upon occasion, I was thrown for such a loop I landed keister up, arms and legs akimbo. (If you can picture this without thinking it out, you’re my type of person.)
My last two posts have been dismal, but the best I could do in a world full of disaster, hatred, and animosity. I’m sure you know the feeling, and if you don’t, please read my last two posts. The Pulse massacre exploded into my consciousness and took over, quickly becoming...

THE UGLY SHIRT NO ONE WANTS TO WEAR
Many gay folks have reported their straight co-workers, friends, and family coming to them with words of support, understanding that the trauma of #OrlandoPulse spreads farther and wider than the immediate neighborhood. Some describe the concern and warnings their loved ones can’t help offering, others tell of important conversations that help them cope with their sense of loss, fear, being lost, and to counter the feeling that once more we’re being shoved back i...

RAINBOW AT HALF-MAST
It’s been a hard couple of days, I won’t lie.
There are the inevitable questions: Why there and then? Who was really behind it all? What made him do it? And while there are answers, they won’t satisfy, because there are no answers good enough to make up for the sickening horror, pain, and devastation.
Time does strange things when you’re grieving. Two days can seem like a week, and hours can disappear in the blink of an eye. The heaviness I carry around makes me tired without having done anyt...

Brave New Look
I’ve decided to knuckle down and get serious about this author business. I’ve always been serious about writing, but now I’m going to get serious about building a brand and marketing. I moved from Blogger to WordPress because it supports things like opt-in email – which I’ve just found out I should have been doing for years now.
In the next few weeks, I’ll be building, tweaking, importing, and creating all sorts of neat and nifty things here. There will also be some pretty big announcements c...

Bariatric Surgery Success!

I've lost fifty-two pounds. My blood pressure is lower, my arthritis less painful, and my triglycerides are behaving themselves. I no longer use the C-PAP machine, or take medicine for gout. I haven't had a bout of Plantar's fasciitis or bone bruises for months.
Has it been easy? Hell, no. I spent a month (2 weeks before and 2 weeks after...

You’re Doing It Right Now

Or you will be once you finish reading this. If you’re within reach of a PowerBall lottery ticket, you’re dreaming of what you could possibly do with over $6,000,000 dollars. That’s the lump sum payout for a single winner.
My wife and I just spent a pleasant hour discussing the possibilities, those we’d help, how we’d help, what kind of dreams we could make possible, what responsibilities we’d like to shoulder. A retirement village for low-income LGBTQIA+ seniors was mentioned, free operatio...
