these are about a hundred files, all named in a manner both maddening and useless, that are, in fact, recovered files from a data loss event i had like five or six years back that obliterated the whole of my digital life up to that point. every word written, every picture taken – gone.

i felt free.

today doing a bunch of literal and metaphorical clean-up i came across some of what little the data recovery guys were able to salvage and, opening them and poking around, found a good deal of my ear...
