Get The Call of Jonas Creed now!

,Heroes may be forged in fire...
Legends speak of a shadow realm that echoes our own, called the Void, where gods and demons roam the very paths we mortals tread, hidden from our sight and touch, judging us at our worst moments, laughing at our woes.
The Void is inaccessible to all still living save those blessed, or perhaps cursed, with the means to cross between realms. The lands of the gods are not to be trespassed lightly, but the rewards...
Deep in the heart of Yahrska, past the beautiful Brokar Valley, lies Barren Hollows: a small and peaceful village where all Jonas Creed wanted was to leave his past behind and become the loving husband and father he swore he always would be.
But fate leaves none unscathed. Someone is looking for the Voidwalker, and will stop at nothing to get what they want.
,...but Legends are born in blood.
As some of you might know by now, The Call of Jonas Creed was released in August 2022. It is a short little epic fantasy story that I wrote as a teaser for the world to come. Yes, you heard me. I am currently working on this project that will be a full-fledged series on its own with The Call of Jonas Creed being the bedrock of the work. There is much more to this world than just this short story, and there will be many more adventures and battles to come. I know it will take a while to get these novels done, but I am hoping to get book 1 out by December 2023, book 2 by February 2024 and book 3 by about April 2024. If all goes according to plan this will be a 3 book, maybe a 4 book series. Click ,,here to download your free copy today!
For now, I am concentrating on finalising Warlock's Path: A Dragon Wars Saga Volume Three which will be released on 25 October 2022. That's only 7 weeks away! And there's still so much to do.
Better get to it...

,Dragon’s breath is best left unclaimed…
The twisted mind of King Turneroth takes his forces north, hundreds of dragons at his call. Soon they will stand before New Runswick, the capital of Elmohria, demanding their ultimate surrender. Ladriana sits alone on her throne, awaiting the city’s impending doom.
Plagued by gigantic wyrms, Abru Noxel is slowly dying, its life sucked from within. The Ageians’ world is turning into a barren wasteland. Garidan has the answers to their problems, but he needs the help of an old acquaintance to solve them.
Elmohria’s salvation appears in the shape of a Balamuth lost ages ago. Found in the depths of Abru Noxel, Garidan hands it to the warlock. All Khanaseri has to do now is find the host for the imprisoned beast. The only problem is, the host died a long time ago…
,Warlock’s Path is the conclusion to the Dragon Wars Saga: an epic fantasy series that spans worlds and time. Buy now to be part of the adventure.
Pigs, right? Who knew they couldn't sweat?

Who knew? Am I the only one? I thought I'd share some interesting things that I have learnt on my journey as an author, and today was something I didn't expect, to be honest. Sometimes we say things and we rarely go back and really think about it. As it happened, while I was writing ,King's Plight (Book 2 in the Dragon Wars Saga) I mentioned that someone sweated like a pig, and at first, I didn't think anything of it. But then it got me curious. Why do we say that? And so I did some research... There's a ton of research to be done when writing...yet not often about pigs I would assume. Unless you're writing another Babe novel I guess. But we digress.
This is where I found out that pigs in fact do not really sweat! How weird is that?
So then why do we say "sweat like a pig," you ask? Why indeed...
The term is actually derived from the iron smelting process in which hot iron poured in moulds cools and solidifies with the pieces branching off to look like piglets suckling on a sow. Hence "pig iron". Once produced it is way too hot to transport or be touched so they needed to wait for it to cool down. As the iron cools, the surrounding air reaches its dew point, and beads of moisture form on the surface of the "pigs". "Sweating like a pig" indicates that the "pig" (i.e. iron) has cooled enough to be safely handled.
Why am I giving you this useless information? I don't know... I found it fascinating and wanted to share some of my journey with you. I hope you found this as interesting as I did.

The Dragon Wars Saga nearing the end!
Are you ready for a new Epic Fantasy series to take you to new heights of magic and adventure? Over the last few years, I have been busy with this new series, and now finally I can say it is coming to the public. What a day! This has been a tough one to get done but it was all worth it. Now I am finishing up the third book in the series for it to go to the editor.
Warlock's Path will release on the 25th of October 2022
In this series, you will not only be taken through to a different time but also to other worlds while chaos ensues after daring attempts from the sorceress Beuneth to reclaim her lost love. Events unfold and wars break out. Death and hardship fall on the people of the world during the struggle taking place. Dragons roam the skies once more, dealing death to those caught in their paths.
Garidan will have his destiny laid out as he takes his rightful place in the kingdom and searches for allies, but he never thought how difficult such a quest could be. In a race against time, they prepare for the next attacks to come, for they will definitely come. The only thing to do now is carry on.

Weapon for the next novel?

I know this might be sad to some people, but for me, getting a new axe feels like Christmas morning. I have been struggling with a small and relatively sad looking old axe to chop wood and finally got myself a new toy. AND IT IS A BEAST. Obviously this already makes my head run away like crazy as thoughts of new characters weilding this weapon will jump out from the pages of the next novel. Albeit, it will probably be a little more exaggerated and look something like a weapon of the gods. But it will be there nonetheless. I am currently busy with a three book series that will release next year. Stay tuned for updates on the new novels.

MERCURY DAGGER 2.0
As with everything in life, you get better with time and lots of practice and some really great courses. Some of you might have seen that I have pulled Mercury Dagger - A Tale From Kraydenia from the shelves a while ago. The reason for this is that it is undergoing some rigorous rewriting and editing with some new covers being developed as well.
As any author would tell you, the revision leading to a second edition of a novel is done with great hesitation and trepidation, lots of sleepless night and a strong cup of coffee every few minutes. Back in 2009, after the full effects of the great recession kicked in, I lost my job as so many others in the world did. Jobs were scarce and companies were struggling, and I needed to keep busy. So a story popped into my head one night and the next morning, I opened up my Word 2003 on a laptop that barely held itself together and started typing. I had no knowledge of the craft. I did not know what I was doing, in fact, or where this would lead to. All I knew was I liked the story. Yes, there were a lot of mistakes made in the book. Heck, I didn't even know where to get an editor. I mean, as an Afrikaans speaking male with English as a second language, it couldn't be that bad, right?... Oh boy... After the launch in 2010, money was becoming an issue, and luckily I received a phone call from a company to do their IT Administration. So I stepped back into my corporate shoes and slaved away to get some cash flowing again. Don’t get me wrong, I was grateful for the work. I took a step back then and focused on learning the art of writing and signed up for multiple courses. I wrote a few short stories and a novel, twice, but never published them. Then in 2017 we moved to Australia, and we started our lives afresh. Again, it took some time to get back on our feet. Now was the time I could finally work on my writing, and my first stop was fixing up a few things in Mercury Dagger. And this time round it is going to a fantastic editor to smooth out all the sharp edges. I mean, even his FIRST language is English... I jest, he is absolutely fantastic and I am grateful for the work he has put in.
And so doing the revision, I did not want to change the story itself, although I have changed some names, and added a few new scenes. I think in total I have added roughly fifteen thousand new words, give or take… and removed probably seven thousand. The rewrite took a bit longer than expected given that I wrote another novel in between, which will be published soon after I republish Mercury Dagger. Keep an eye out for it.
To those that read the first edition, I thank you greatly and can assure you that no significant changes to outcomes have occurred. If you are thinking of doing a reread with the second edition, I am sure you would enjoy this version. To any new reader thinking of picking up this novel, I thank you for considering it worthy of a read.
If all goes as planned, I will publish the new edition in June 2021. I will share updated information in the coming months leading up to the release of the improved novel.

Writing on the road

There is few things in the world that clears your head like being one with nature. Be it, camping, hiking, fishing, swimming in the ocean or just sitting on the beach and watching the waves roll in with their rhythmic motion. Or watching the sway of the trees in a forest as the wind blows from side to side, putting you to ease like a lullaby for a babe.
It is in this time that I find myself dreaming up scenes and envisioning the story to progress to fulfillment. It takes the chaos in my mind, speeding at a thousand miles a second in all directions and focuses them. Slowing them down to make a more laid out version of the rampage in my head. And believe me, there is a lot of chaos if not focused.
Take some time. Hit the road and clear your head, there are some amazing places out there.
