Yesterday, I was partying with some lovely people, celebrating Mardi Maxwell's latest release in The Doms of Club Mystique series, The Ramsey Doms. An amazing book from an amazing author.
The Ramsey brothers have been told that Thor Larkin and Marisol Rios might have been killed by Carlos Mendez. Cade Ramsey refuses to believe that his business partner and best friend is dead. He leaves his pregnant wife, Addison, with his brothers while he goes to Colombia to search for Thor and Marisol. His father, Nate MacLeod and his fiancé Nymph go with him as well as Dirk and Sabre McCabe and their wife, Bridget. While they're away from the ranch the other Ramsey brothers and their fiancés keep an eye on Addison and make plans for their own futures. The holidays come and go and Addison grows closer to the birth of her child. Will Cade find Thor and make it home in time to see his child born? Will wedding bells be ringing on the Ramsey Ranch for Jackson and Jenna, Luc and Cassie and Logan, or Zane and Ravyn?

Lynn Burke is visiting me today. Longing For Her was released last month, and I think the best saying to describe this wonderful story would be 'when opposites attract'. Only Cole and Gwen's attraction won't just guarantee for an interesting relationship, it could have a devastating affect on their loved ones.
About Lynn Burke:Lynn Burke is a full time mother, voracious gardener, and scribbler of spicy romance stories. A country bumpkin turned Bay Stater, she enjoys her chowdah and Dunkin Donuts when not trying to escape the reality of city life. Her current work, the Risso Family Novellas, revolves around four siblings from Boston’s North End.

Straight-laced Cole Risso has longed for his sister’s bohemian best friend Gwen since he first laid eyes on her as a kid. Now, as future patriarch of the Risso Family, he’s expected to marry well. A free spirit and unconventional daughter of a pot-toking hippie hardly qualifies.
When one night of giving into temptation ruins them both for any other, Cole and Gwen are faced with a decision - love the other enough to let them go, or defy family expectations and fight for their hearts’ desires. No matter the decision, their choices have the power to destroy all they hold dear.

Excerpt:I rounded the couch, but halted as a body came into view.
Cole lounged against the far side, one hand behind his head, half-empty beer bottle in the other. “Hey.”
Our gazes collided, sending a shock wave of energy through my blood. My heel itched to spin, but his focus wandered down my body and back up again, lingering on my bare thighs.
Oh, the temptation to taste him one more time. Three years of simmering desire had my kettle ready to scream hallelujah. “Hey,” I whispered back. “I thought you’d left.”
His smile melted my bones. “Decided to stay a while and reminisce.”
My lips tugged up. “I was eyeing the back of the couch while stealing some whiskey and doing the same thing.” Kind of.
“Care to join me?”
I considered the cushion closest to me and bit on the inside of my lip as temptation and love for the sexy man a few paces away warred in my brain. Knowing I owed Cole an apology, I decided to sit, curling my legs under me. “Sorry for being so harsh earlier. I…I didn’t mean to hurt you.”
Cole twisted sideways to place the bottle on the coffee table. “I shouldn’t have cornered you like that.” He started to sit up, but hesitated, a question in his eyes.
“It’s all right. I won’t run.”
The leather squeaked as he swung his feet to the floor and leaned back, hands on his thighs. His blue tie hung loose, the top two buttons of his dress shirt unbuttoned. A hint of dark hair called out to my fingers. Averting my eyes, I focused on the tumbler clasped in both my hands.
“I know I’ve said it hundreds of times, Gwen, but I’m sorry. Please say you forgive me.”
Another gulp of whiskey gave me courage to speak. “Forgiving in my mind means making things right—getting back to normal and moving on.” I lifted my head enough to focus on the knot of his tie. “I can’t do that with you, Cole.”
“Why not?”
“Because even though it’s expected you’ll marry an uptight, snobbish princess,” I sucked in air and allowed the words to spew, “I want you every second of the day.”
His chest stopped its rise and fall, and I glanced up at his face.
Mistake.
Longing like I’d never known reached out from his eyes and froze me in place. My breath caught. Nipples pebbled beneath my thin shirt.
Every muscle in my body quivered as he stood and walked toward me, unwavering gaze on my face.
“What—” I licked my lips, hating how my voice wavered. “What are you doing?”
“Give me the whiskey.”
My pulse thrummed with life, and I put the glass in his outstretched hand.
He set it on the coffee table without breaking eye contact and leaned down, placing his hands against the back of the couch on either side of me, making an effective cage. His face hovered mere inches from mine.
I breathed in as he exhaled, the subtle scent of peppermint flooding my mouth with saliva. His lower lip called out to my teeth; the shadow lining his jaw begged for my tongue.
“Did you mean what you said about once being enough, Gwen? Because it’s not for me. I want to taste every inch of your skin. Bury myself inside you.”
My breath caught, and moisture flooded my panties making me squirm on the cushion.
I opened my mouth, having no idea what words would tumble out, but he swooped down, capturing my parted lips before I could speak.
Blessed Mary, mother of God.

Such much for my plan to write over the weekend. By Saturday morning I had a black eye, compliments of the surgery. My hubby banned me from going on the computer until the swelling went down. Now for those of you who know me would know that that wouldn't have stopped me if I felt okay. Unfortunately keeping the eye open for too long turned out to be a difficult feat. It would feel gritty, as if it had dried out. So I conceded that I would do as I was told for possibly once in my life.
My mum always shares the story of how she had to learn early. If she told me to do something I would stubbornly refuse. If she asked, I would do anything for her. My hubby of twelve years still hasn't learnt this lesson it would seem.
Anyway, it is now Tuesday. My stitches have been removed, my eye is almost back to normal and I managed to get some writing done. Yay!

Sorry I haven't been around for a couple of days. I had a small procedure performed on my forehead on Wednesday, and my brain hasn't been wired to do anything on the computer since. My forehead is healing nicely and my brain is finally back on my book. I just need my body to catch up. Due to limited sleep over the last few days, it now aches. A see a bath in my future and glue forcing my backside to remain in my computer chair. Bath tonight, gluing tomorrow!
Of course that hasn't stopped Judge demanding to be heard. I can only I deny my hunky mountain lion shifter for so long!

Finally the words are flowing again!. Over the last few weeks, I have had many an idea about Judge's story, and even attempted to it many times over, but to no avail. On Friday, the words slowly began to come to me and since then they haven't stopped. I just thought I would drop in to share this amazing news before returning to my WIP. Have a great day, everyone.

I got caught watching Eurovision this morning, and now I'm exhausted. I'm so happy that Guy Sebastian was representing Australia. He did an amazing job. Fifth place for a first attempt is beyond believable.

I have been trying to write Judge's story when this story popped into my head. It's a young adult story with a difference, but I struggled trying to work out how to put it down on paper. Thanks to a little chat with the lovely Honor James, I have it worked out which means it can go to the back burner until Judge and Chaos's books are written. Not to mention the young adult book that I have already written but need to edit. So many characters and not a high enough typing speed.

Today, by the time I had a chance to sit down and write, it was nearly bedtime. The day got away from me. Worst yet, this year seems to be flying by too quickly as well.
It's time for me to knuckle down and finish Judge's story. He deserves no less.

Okay, question time. What constitutes as a gambling problem? And is what Judge's mate experiences classified as a problem?
I guess it's up to interpretation, and when you read the book you will have to decide for yourself? Me, I'm still up in the air about it. When I first realised that was what was happening to her I thought "Yes, she has a problem". But the further I delve into it, I just don't know how much of a problem she has.
