Snapshot Reviews: With Malice by Eileen Cook
I thoroughly enjoyed With Malice by Eileen Cook. It is a meticulously crafted psychological thriller that unfolds slowly, which allows the reader to immerse herself in Jill's headspace. I was completely invested in what Jill was feeling and what she was uncovering. It quickly became one of those novels where it is difficult not to scan down the page to see what's coming next. Well Done! I look forward to Eileen Cook’s next release, The Hanging Girl.

Snapshot Reviews: This Is Where It Ends by Marieke Nijkamp
Three chapters in, I knew this was un-put-down-able. Multiple points of view are handled seamlessly and provide different lenses to view the shooting. They also give insight to each character and create a deep connection for the reader to the human heartbreak and confusion, as well as the general chaos of such an event. The author successfully manages to keep tension consistently amped and pulls no punches. This keeps it devastatingly grounded in reality. Well done!

Snapshot Reviews: Every Last Word by Tamara Ireland Stone
Often, I am the voyeur of a story. I perch on the perimeter and watch everything unfold. There’s nothing wrong with that. It’s quite fun actually. But once in a while a story is so seamless, a character so realistic, I am drawn in deeply and forget that it’s a work of someone’s imagination. I become fully immersed— breathing, sighing, crying alongside the character.
Every Last Word
by Tamara Ireland Stone is one of those novels. Stone has thoughtfully captured a young girl’s struggle with high school life, made all the more complicated and anxiety ridden by her OCD. This sense of authenticity, combined with a few twists and turns, made this one unputdownable for me.

Making the Cut
There are many things I didn't anticipate when I published. One of them is how exciting it is when Cutting to the Chase is selected for a list. And it truly is. This week, I was selected to be part of Long and Short Reviews YA's monthly poll: Which book do you think is best based on the review? Amazing review and great fun. I've also been included on the list that Heroes and Heartbreakers generates each month: 9 Books H&H Reviewers Couldn't Put Down in May 2017. Many thanks to the reviewers and sites for the support.
What a terrific week! I hope yours has been equally satisfying. J
