Sharon is an author and illustrator, educator and mental health advocate who specializes in processing emotions and having difficult conversations using literature and the arts. Sharon is a former teacher educator from California State University Fullerton and a former bilingual K-8 teacher in California and Texas. She is the author of two edited volumes: The Arts and Emergent Bilingual Youth and Gender Diversity and LGBTQ Inclusion in Schools. She also has published five children's books and donated over 6,000 copies with her project, Well Beings Studio to families impacted by cancer and the organizations who support them.
